Como es habitual, combina el color en todas sus gamas con unos estampados preciosos obteniendo un resultado espectacular.

Sus telas son únicas y las cintas me parecen ideales para crear complementos y personalizar cualquier prenda.

¡Creo que va siendo hora de dar más protagonismo a mi máquina de coser!


It may be because spring is almost here but I find that Amy Butler's latest collection is truly inspiring.

As usual, she combines colour in all ranges with pretty patterns obtaining an amazing result.

Her fabrics are unique and the ribbons are perfect for making accesories and customising any garment.

I think it's time to put my sewing machine in the spotlight!

Cosas que me gustan / Things I like # 13 - Crochet Baby Shoes

Buscar cosas para bebés en Internet es casi sinónimo de acabar diciendo "me encanta" con todo lo que aparece en la pantalla, pero... ¿no me digáis que estos patucos de ganchillo no son lo más mono que habéis visto?

Son un diseño de Sophie Digard, que hace cosas realmente preciosas (prometo dedicarle un post en exclusiva porque lo merece).

Searching things for babies on the Internet is almost a synonim of saying "I love it" to all the things that appear in our screen, but... don't tell me these crochet baby shoes aren't the cutest thing you have ever seen?

They are designed by Sophie Digard, who makes really pretty things (I promise to write a post about her soon because she's really worth it).

Los chicos tambíen tienen frío / Boys are cold too

Normalmente los chicos son un poco reacios a usar bufandas y gorros de lana, pero cuando el frío aprieta no hay excusas.

Así que, gracias al frío que hemos tenido en las últimas semanas he acabado tejiendo un gorro de lana de chico.

En casa tenía un ovillo en color gris de DROPS Andes  (una lana gordita y muy calentita que no pica), así que era la lana ideal para este proyecto.

Quería hacer un gorro sencillo (si no, corría el riesgo de que acabara guardado en el armario sin estrenar), así que busqué un patrón en Garnstudio y encontré justo lo que estaba buscando, un modelo sencillo perfecto para chicos que quieren ir calentitos sin llamar la atención.

El destinatario está encantado con su gorro nuevo, así que todo apunta a que seguiré tejiendo más prendas masculinas...

Usually boys are a little reluctant to using wool scarves and hats, but when cold weather strikes there are no excuses.

So, thanks to the cold weather we had during the last weeks I have knitted a men's wool hat.

I had a skein of grey DROPS Andes at home (a thick and very warm wool which is not scratchy) so it was the perfect wool for this project.

I wanted to make a simple hat (otherwise I risked that the hat would remain brand new in the wardrobe), so I searched a pattern in Garnstudio and I found exactly what I was looking for, a basic pattern perfect for boys who want to be warm without attiring too much attention.

The recipient is delighted with his new hat, so it seems that I will continue knitting men's garments...

  

Happy (Valentine's) Weekend

Desde 2003 el día de San Valentín para mí es algo más que el día de los enamorados porque es el santo de Terni, la ciudad de Italia en la que viví durante tres años.

Así que, hoy especialmente me acuerdo de mis años allí y me vienen a la mente muchos y muy buenos recuerdos.

Since 2003 Saint Valentine's Day is more than lovers' day for me because it is the saint of Terni, the city in Italy where I lived for three years.

So, today more than ever I remind my years there and so many and so good memories come to my mind.
