Bolsito de verano de punto / Summer knit sachet

Cuando eccomin  me envió su libro de accesorios hace unos años me propuse ir haciendo todos los diseños poco a poco y este verano he avanzado un poquito más en mi propósito tejiendo un bolsito de verano.

Desde el principio tenía claro cuál era el modelo que iba a hacer pero no sabía qué hilo utilizar hasta que encontré la variedad "Veggie Wool"  de Casa Sol  que me pareció perfecta para tejer mi bolsito.

La siguiente elección un poco "complicada" fue escoger la tela para el forro interior porque tenía varias que me gustaban y, en este caso, me decidí por una tela estampada con mandalas de colores que contrasta muy bien con el color rosa del hilo.

Como siempre que hago un diseño de eccomin  me encanta el resultado y, si me seguís por Instagram, ya habréis visto que  cómo queda el bolsito.

When  eccomin sent me her accesories book a couple of years ago I was decided to make all the designs little by little and this summer I have moved a little bit forward in my resolution by knitting a summer sachet.

Since the beginning I knew the pattern I was going to make but I didn't know which yarn to use until I found  "Veggie Wool" range by  Casa Sol which seemed perfect to knit my sachet.

The next a little bit "difficult" choice was choosing the fabric for the linen as I had several ones I liked and, in this case, I chose a printed fabric with colour mandalas which contrasts very well with the pink colour of the yarn.

As every time I make a design from  eccomin I love the result and, if you follow me on Instagram, you would have already seen how the sachet looks like.

Zero Waste - "The Art of Repair" by Molly Martin

 

Una parte muy importante de reducir residuos es aprender a reparar nuestros objetos más queridos y Molly Martin  ha hecho un verdadero arte de ello.

Para ella todo empezó cuando sus calcetines favoritos se desgastaron por el uso y, en lugar de tirarlos, decidió remendarlos con un poco de lana y ahora es una ilustradora, artista y reparadora textil que, desde su estudio en Brixton, se dedica a dar una segunda oportunidad a objetos que merece la pena conservar.

En su libro "The Art of Repair"  recopila y explica en detalle distintas técnicas de costura y bordado que pueden servir para reparar aquellas prendas que para nosotros tienen un valor especial y de las que nos resulta difícil desprendernos. Todo ello enfocado como un ensayo sobre el "slow living"  y el valor real de las cosas, lo que ella llama "mindful mending". 

Mis habilidades de costura y bordado están muy lejos de estar al nivel de las de Molly  pero nunca es tarde para aprender y espero que su libro me ayude a dar una segunda oportunidad a mis prendas más especiales.

A very important part of waste reduction is learning to mend our most cherished items and  Molly Martin  has made a real art out of it.

For her everything started when her favorite socks worn away by the use and, instead of throwing them away, she decided to mend them with some wool and now she is an illustrator, artist and textile repairer who, from her studio in Brixton, is devoted to giving a second chance to items worth keeping.

In her book  "The Art of Repair" she compiles and explains in detail different sewing and embroidery techniques that can serve to mend those garments that have a special value for us and that we find difficult to get rid of. All of that approached as an essay about "slow living" and the real worth of things, what she calls "mindful mending".

My sewing and embroidery skills are far from being at the level of  Molly's but it is never late to learn and I hope that her book can help me in giving a second chance to my more special clothes.

En mi lista de proyectos de verano siempre hay hueco para hacer algún bolsito de punto o ganchillo y este año no iba a ser menos.

Para escoger el modelo he recurrido otra vez al libro de eccomin  y es que me gustan tanto sus diseños que me he propuesto hacerlos todos poco a poco.

Todavía tengo que terminar algunas cosas antes de empezar a hacer mi bolsito pero estoy deseando ponerme a ello...

On my list of summer projects there's always space to make a knit or crochet bag and this year it won't be different.

To choose the pattern I have returned again to  eccomin's book as I like her design that much that I have decided to make all of them little by little.

I still have to finish some things before I start making my bag but I am really looking forward to it...

Posavasos de fieltro estilo "vintage" / Vintage style felted coasters

 

Después de mis posavasos de fieltro en forma de nube  he seguido experimentando con la técnica del fieltrado y esta vez he hecho unos posavasos con flores de inspiración "vintage".

La idea la cogí del libro "Mollie Makes Crochet" y es un patrón de Ilaria Chiaratti  de Ida Interior Lifestyle  originalmente pensado para una funda de un cojín pero que a mi me pareció perfecto para hacer unos posavasos.

Antes de decidirme por este diseño tenía pensado hacer algo completamente distinto pero creo que la combinación de colores en tonos mostaza queda muy bien con el motivo "sunburst" y le da ese toque de estilo retro que tanto me gusta.

Hasta ahora no me había dado cuenta de todas las posibilidades que ofrece el fieltrado y, aunque podría seguir añadiendo diseños de posavasos hasta el infinito, de momento este va a ser mi último proyecto y me reservo todas las ideas que se me han ido ocurriendo para después del verano.

¿Conseguiré resistir a la tentación de fieltrar más cosas?

After my cloud shaped felt coasters I have continued experimenting with the felting technique and this time I have made some vintage inspired flower coasters.

I took the idea from "Mollie Makes Crochet" book and it is a pattern by Ilaria Chiaratti from Ida Interior Lifestyle originally thought for a cushion cover but it appeared to me that it would be perfect to make some coasters.

Before choosing this design I had thought of making something completely different but I find that the combination of colours in mustard shades matches very well with "sunburst" motif and it adds that retro style touch which I really like.

Until the moment I hadn't realised all the possibilites that felting offers and, although I could keep adding coasters designs to infinity, at the moment this is going to be my last project and I will preserve all the ideas I've been thinking of to make them after this summer.

Will I resist the temptation of felting more things?

Mini manta de ganchillo de "granny squares" / Crochet granny squares mini blanket

 

En otoño de 2014 empecé una manta de ganchillo de "granny squares"  y, aunque me hacía mucha ilusión, desde entonces se me han ido cruzando otras prioridades por el camino y hasta este año no he conseguido terminarla.

La idea era hacer cuadraditos con combinaciones de diferentes de colores siguiendo el patrón de uno de los diseños del libro "Crochet Living" de Nicki Trench y decidir sobre la marcha el tamaño (en función de la lana que me quedara).

Al final es un poco más pequeña de lo que me hubiera gustado pero estoy muy contenta por haber sido capaz de terminarla y porque por fin tengo mi propia manta de ganchillo de cuadraditos de colores.

¿No os parece un clásico que no debería faltar en ninguna casa?

In autumn 2014 I started a granny squares crochet blanket and, although I was very happy about it, since then I've had other priorities along the way and I wasn't able to finish it until this year.

The idea was to make squares with different colour combinations following the pattern of one of the designs from the book  "Crochet Living" by  Nicki Trench and decide the size on the go (according to the yarn I had left).

In the end the blanket is a little bit smaller than what I would have liked but I am very happy as I've been able to finish it and because I finally have my own granny squares crochet colour blanket.

Don't you think it is a classic that should be on every home?

Tyrone the English Bull Terrier

Hace dos años compré el libro "Edward's Menagerie: Dogs"  de Toft  con una idea muy concreta, hacer el patrón de "Tyrone el Bull Terrier inglés" como recuerdo de mi perro Rocky que nos había dejado unos meses antes.

En realidad, luego fue un poco más complicado y todavía no era el momento de hacer su versión en amigurumi así que aproveché el libro para hacer otros perritos, como "Rosie the Daschund" o  la pequeña Toni.

Sin embargo, siempre que veía el libro me acordaba de que tenía algo pendiente y este año ya no ha habido excusa y por fin tengo una versión en miniatura de mi querido Rocky.

Obviamente quería que fuera lo más parecido posible así que, en lugar de usar algodón, he escogido lana de DROPS Nepal  porque me parece que los tonos se asemejan más a su color natural.

Además, la lana es un poquito más gruesa que el algodón así que el perro es un poquito más grande que los otros que he hecho y eso lo hace más achuchable todavía.

Siempre me gusta hacer muñecos de amigurumi pero esta vez lo he disfrutado un montón y ahora me estoy planteando hacerle una colección de ropa a medida.

¿Qué os parece?

Two years ago I bought the book  "Edward's Menagerie: Dogs" by Toft with a very specific idea, making the pattern of "Tyrone the English Bull Terrier" in memory of my dog Rocky who had left us a couple of months before.

Actually, later it was a little bit more complicated and it wasn't the moment to make his amigurumi version yet so I used the book to make other dogs, such as "Rosie the Daschund" or little Toni.

However, every time I saw the book I remembered I had something pending and this year I had no excuse and I finally have a mini version of my beloved Rocky.

Obviously I wanted it to be as most similar as possible so, instead of using cotton, I have chosen DROPS Nepal wool because I think that the shades resemble better his natural colour.

In addition, the wool is a little bit thicker than the cotton so the dog is a little bit bigger than the other ones I've made and that makes it still more huggable.

I always like making amigurumi puppets but this time I have enjoyed it a lot and now I am thinking about making a customised clothing collection.

How do you find it?

Harry Lobo / Harry Wolf

Cuando compré el libro de amigurumi  de Pica Pau sabía que no me iba a arrepentir y, aunque ha pasado mucho tiempo desde que hice a Robin Unicornio, nunca me olvido de lo bonitos que son sus personajes.

De hecho, cuando surge el momento de hacer un amigurumi  para cualquier ocasión es uno de mis libros de referencia y, así, hace poco lo he retomado para hacer a Harry Lobo, uno de los animales del libro que más me gustan.

La verdad es que nunca pensé que haría un lobo de ganchillo y mucho menos que me resultaría tan simpático pero supongo que ahí esta el mérito de Pica Pau, siempre consigue que sus diseños tengan ese aire de dibujo animado casi perfecto.

De momento no tengo nada en mente pero me encantaría ir haciendo todos los animales poco a poco...

When I bought  Pica Pau's  amigurumi book I knew I wasn't going to regret it and, although it's been a long time since I made  Robin Unicorn, I never forget how beautiful its characters are.

In fact, when the moment to make an  amigurumi arises for any occasion it is one of my books of reference and, this way, not long ago I came back to it to make Harry Wolf, one of the animals from the book I like the most.

The truth is I have never thought I would make a crochet wolf and much less that I would find him so nice but I guess that that is  Pica Pau's merit, she always achieves her designs to look like almost perfect cartoon characters.

At the moment I have nothing in mind but I would love to keep making all the animals little by little...

Bolso de Punto "eccomin" / "eccomin" Knit Bag

La primera vez que os hablé del trabajo de "eccomin"  fue en una publicación de 2014 y, desde entonces, no he dejado de seguirle la pista porque me encanta todo lo que hace.

Desde el primer momento tuve un auténtico flechazo con uno de sus bolsos de punto: el diseño, el color, la calidad del hilo... ¡Quería tejer uno igual para mí!

En aquel momento yo no imaginaba que llegaríamos a "conocernos" en el mundo virtual y gracias al libro que me regaló en 2016 ya he hecho varios de sus diseños. Sin embargo, la idea de reproducir ese bolso tan maravilloso siempre ha estado ahí y, por fin, me he animado a tejerlo.

Para hacerlo he ido un poco sobre seguro y he utilizado los ovillos gigantes Phil Express  de Phildar  que compré en "La Lainerie" en Burdeos ya que al ser lana muy gordita hacen que se avance muy rápido en la labor.

Cuando compré los ovillos la idea era utilizarlos para hacer un cuello de lana o una maxi bufanda pero cuando me decidí a hacer el bolso me pareció una buena idea utilizar esta lana tan gordita y, de hecho, me encanta cómo ha quedado.

Esta ha sido mi primera aproximación al icónico bolso de punto de eccomin pero, como podréis imaginar, ya tengo en mente repetir la idea con otro tipo de hilo para que se parezca más a la idea original.

The first time I told you about  eccomin's work was on a post in 2014 and, since then, I haven't stopped tracing her because I love everything she does.

Since the first moment I had a true crush with one of her knit bags: the design, the colour, the quality of the yarn... I wanted to knit another one for me!

At that moment I couldn't imagine we would "meet" each other in the virtual world and thanks to the book she gifted me in 2016 I have already made some of her designs. However, the idea of recreating that wonderful bag has always been there and, finally, I have decided myself to knitting it.

To make it I have played it safe and I have used the super sized  Phil Express skeins from  Phildar that I bought at  "La Lainerie" in Bordeaux because as it is a bulky yarn the knitting is done really fast.

When I bought the skeins the idea was to use them to make a cowl or a maxi scarf but when I decided to make the bag I thought it could be a good idea to use this bulky wool and, actually, I love the result.

This is my first contact with the iconic knit bag from  eccomin but, as you can imagine, I have already in mind repeating the idea with another type of yarn so it looks more like the original idea.

Trendy Châle

Uno de mis primeros proyectos de punto fue el "Trendy Châle" de Mlle. Sophie.

En aquel momento llevaba poco tiempo tejiendo y hacer algo diferente a una bufanda tradicional me parecía súper emocionante así que enseguida se convirtió en uno de mis proyectos favoritos.

Algunos años y varios diseños de Mlle. Sophie  después,  he tejido un nuevo "Trendy Châle"  para que su estilo "chic"  francés me inspire en los días de frío.

Además de estar encantada con el resultado también estoy muy orgullosa porque para tejerlo he utilizado unos ovillos de Phildar que llevaban mucho tiempo olvidados en mi "stash"  y  me parece que es una buena forma de empezar un nuevo año.

One of my first knitting projects was  Mlle. Sophie's "Trendy Châle".

At that moment I had been knitting for a little time and making something different to a traditional scarf seemed really thrilling so it quickly became one of my favorite projects.

Some years and several designs from  Mlle. Sophie after, I have knitted a new  "Trendy Châle" so its "chic" French style can inspire me on chilly days.

In addition to being very happy with the result I am also very proud as to knit it I have used some  Phildar skeins that had been forgotten for a long time in my stash and I think it is a good way to start a new year.

Últimamente no hago más que hablaros de proyectos nuevos y es que tengo la mala costumbre de tener tener varias cosas empezadas a la vez...

La parte buena es que son ideas muy diferentes entre sí y algunas son muy rápidas de hacer.

Por el momento os doy una pista de uno de ellos, un amigurumi  del precioso libro "La Banda de Picapau".

¿Alguien adivina de qué personaje se trata?

Lately I can't stop talking about new projects as I have the bad habit of starting several things at the same time...

The good side is that they are all different ideas and some of them are very quick to make.

By the moment I will give you a hint about one of them, an  amigurumi from the beautiful book "Animal Friends of Pica Pau".

Con la llegada del otoño he vuelto a uno de mis patrones para bebé favoritos aunque en esta ocasión he decidido utilizar por primera vez la lana DROPS Big Merino  que es un poco más gordita que la que he usado otras veces.

Casi puedo imaginarme el resultado sólo con ver lo suave que es en el ovillo...

With the arrival of autumn I am back to one of my favorite patterns for babies although in this occasion I have decided to use for the first time  DROPS Big Merino wool which is a little bit chunkier than the one I have used some other times.

I can almost imagine the result just by seeing how soft it is on the skein...

Rudolf el bulldog inglés / Rudolf the English bulldog

Desde que compré el libro "Edward's Menagerie Dogs"  de Kerri Lord  el año pasado he hecho ya varios perritos de amigurumi y, recientemente, he tenido la oportunidad de hacer una versión de Rudolf , un bulldog inglés que durante mucho tiempo fue el niño mimado de sus dueños.

Esta vez tampoco tenía el patrón exacto para esta raza así que he vuelto a recurrir a la técnica de guiarme por una foto y buscar cada rasgo del perro en el libro para hacerlo lo más parecido posible.

Espero poder enseñaros algún perrito más pronto...

Since I bought the book "Edwards's Menagerie Dogs" by Kerry Lord last year I have already made several  amigurumi dogs and, recently, I had the opportunity to make a version of  Rudolf, an English bulldog who was the apple of his owners' eyes for a long time.

This time I neither had the exact pattern for this breed so I used again the technique of guiding myself with a picture and searching each characteristic of the dog in the book in order to make it as similar as possible.

I hope I can show you some more dogs soon...

Happy (Crafting) Weekend

Como de costumbre tengo varios proyectos en curso (y alguno que otro más en la cabeza) así que el fin de semana aprovecharé para dedicarles un poco más de tiempo.

As usual I have several ongoing projects (and some more in my head) so this weekend I will make my best to spend some more time on them.

Snoody

Por fin puedo enseñaros el proyecto de Mlle. Sophie  que empecé tejer a principios de enero con los ovillos que compré en Knit Knit Berlin.

Como ya os conté entonces, sigo a Mlle. Sophie desde hace mucho porque me encantan sus diseños, sencillos pero estilosos a la vez, así que no he podido resistirme a tejer otro de sus patrones.

En esta ocasión he escogido  el cuello Snoody  que en mi opinión es una mezcla entre el famoso Trendy Chale y el maravilloso cuello L'Audacieuse  que son otros dos patrones suyos que he tenido el gusto de hacer.

Además de tejerse muy rápido no requiere mucha cantidad de lana así que todavía me quedan dos ovillos de Lanagrossa Lala Berlin  que de momento se van a quedar en mi stash hasta que encuentre alguna idea para tejer con ellos.

P.D: Este no es el último patrón de Mlle. Sophie  que he hecho...

I can finally show you the project from  Mlle. Sophie I started knitting at the beginning of January with the yarn I bought at  Knit Knit Berlin.

As I already told you then, I've been folllowing  Mlle. Sophie for a long time since I love her designs, simple but stylish at the same time, so I couldn't resist knitting another one of her patterns.

In this case I chose Snoody cowl which in my opinion is a mix between the famous Trendy Chale and the wonderful  L'Audacieuse cowl which are another two of her patterns that I have gladly made.

In addition to being knitted very quickly it doesn't require a great quantity of wool so I still have two skeins of  Lanagrossa Lala Berlin which at the moment will stay in my stash until I find any idea to knit with them.

P.S: This is not the last pattern by  Mlle. Sophie that I have made...

Robin Unicornio / Robin Unicorn

Como cada año, el cumpleaños de mi sobrina Nora es la excusa perfecta para hacer algo especial y disfruto muchísimo porque me encanta elegir la idea y llevarla a cabo de principio a fin.

Desde que compré el libro de Pica-pau  tenía muy claro lo que quería hacer y es que no se me ocurre mejor regalo para una niña de cinco años que un unicornio de amigurumi . Cuando se lo dí me encantó ver su cara al sacarlo del papel de regalo y cómo lo acariciaba como si fuera un animalito de verdad...

Creo que es uno de los amigurumi más bonitos que he hecho hasta la fecha y me encanta que "Robin unicornio" de Pica-pau  haya sido el primer proyecto que he terminado este año y estoy segura de que no será el único de sus patrones que haga.

P.D: Más regalos para Nora

As every year, the birthday of my niece Nora is the perfect excuse to make something special and I enjoy it a lot because I love choosing the idea and making it from beginning to end.

Since I bought  Pica-pau's book I was sure what I wanted to make as I can't find a better gift for a five year old girl than an  amigurumi unicorn. When I gave it to her I loved seeing her face when she pulled it out from the gift wrap and how she caressed it as it was really a little animal...

I think it is one of the most beautiful  amigurumi I have made so far and I love that "Robin unicorn" by  Pica-pau is the first project I have finished this year and I am sure it won't be the only one of her patterns that I make.

Las próximas semanas voy a tener tiempo para tejer para mí así que además de seguir con mi jersey Garland  ya le he buscado proyecto a los ovillos que compré en Knit Knit Berlin.

He escogido un patrón del libro de accesorios de Mlle. Sophie  y, aparte de que me encanta todo lo que hace, su famosísimo Trendy Chale fue uno de los primeros proyectos que tejí allá por 2012 así que me hace ilusión porque me recuerda a mis comienzos con el blog y con las agujas.

Todavía no he empezado a tejer y ya estoy deseando tenerlo terminado...

During the following weeks I will have time to knit for myself so in addition to continuing with my  Garland sweater I have found a project for the yarn I bought in  Knit Knit Berlin.

I have chosen a pattern from  Mlle. Sophie's accesories book and, besides I love everything she makes, her famous  Trendy Chale was one of the first projects I knitted back in 2012 so it makes me happy because it reminds me of my beginning with the blog and the needles.

I haven't started knitting yet and I am already looking forward to finishing it...
