Cinch Me Crop

 

Este verano, además de tejer bolsos, también he encontrado el proyecto perfecto para unos ovillos de algodón de "We Are Knitters"  que me sobraron después de terminar el "Sabrina Sweater".

No estaba para nada en mi lista de proyectos de verano pero curioseando por Instagram  descubrí el top "Cinch Me Crop"  de Camille Mikolas  y enseguida pasó a ser una necesidad.

Por suerte o por desgracia, no tenía suficiente hilo así que al final tuve que hacer una versión sin mangas y la verdad es que creo que me gusta más así.

This summer, besides knitting bags, I have also found the perfect project for some cotton skeins from  "We Are Knitters" that I didn't use after finishing  "Sabrina Sweater".

It wasn't at all on my summer projects list but after nosing around  Instagram I found "Cinch Me Crop" top by  Camille Mikolas and it immediately became a need for me.

For better or worse, I didn't have enough yarn so at last I had to made a sleeveless version and honestly I think I like it more this way.

Last-Minute Cowl

Cuando empecé con el desafío "The Make Nine Challenge"  pensaba que me iba a costar resistirme  a hacer proyectos fuera de "mi lista" pero, la verdad, este método me está ayudando mucho a organizarme y, para mi sorpresa, estoy siendo muy obediente.

El último proyecto que he terminado es el cuello "Last-Minute Cowl"  de  Church Mouse Yarns  y, aunque puede parecer un proyecto muy fácil de hacer, para mí es una idea que cumple a la perfección con lo que me he propuesto conseguir con este desafío.

En concreto, me ha servido para encontrar (¡por fin!) un proyecto que me gustara para utilizar el último ovillo de "The Wool"  de  We Are Knitters  que me sobró después de tejer el jersey "1760 Sweater"   hace, nada más y nada menos, que... ¡6 años!

Tenía claro que para este tipo de lana lo ideal era un proyecto sencillo pero, hasta el momento, no me había parado a buscar algo a medida así que ahora me alegro de haber encontrado un proyecto adecuado con la excusa del desafío.

¿No os parece que los proyectos sencillos a veces son los más acertados?

When I started with  "The Make Nine Challenge" I thought it was going to be hard for me to resist myself from making projects outside "my list" but, indeed, this method is helping me a lot getting organised and, to my surprise, I am being very obedient.

The last project I have finished is  "Last-Minute Cowl" by  Church Mouse Yarns and, although it may seem a very easy to make project, for me it is an idea which meets perfectly what I want to achieve with this challenge.

In particular, it served me to (finally!) find a project I liked to use the last  "The Wool" by  We Are Knitters skein I had spare after knitting the "1760 Sweater", exactly,... 6 years ago!

It was clear for me that for this kind of wool the ideal thing was a simple project but, until the moment, I hadn't stopped to look for something to measure so now I am happy for being able to finding a suitable project with the excuse of the challenge.

Don't you think that simple project sometimes are the most accurate?

Inspiración / Inspiration: Sweater Weather

Con la llegada del frío empieza el "Sweater Weather ", ese momento del año en el que toca sacar los jerséis de lana y, en mi caso, soñar con los que me gustaría tejer para mí.

Este año he buscado inspiración en algunos de los diseñadores que más me gustan y me he dado cuenta de que al final mis modelos favoritos son siempre los de lana gordita y los de trenzas, es como si pudiera sentir lo agradable que es llevarlos cuando hace mucho frío.

He intentado seleccionar un poco de todo pero no os voy a negar que uno de los diseños me gusta especialmente...

¿Cuál es vuestro favorito?

With the arrival of cold weather it's "Sweater Weather", that moment of the year when it's time to pull out wool sweaters and, in my case, start dreaming of the ones I would like to knit for me.

This year I've looked for inspiration in some of the designers I like the most and I have realised that in the end chunky wool and aran sweaters are my favorite models, it's like I can feel how cozy it is to wear them when it's really cold outside.

I've tried to choose different models but I won't deny that I like one of the designs more than the others...

Wool Sabrina Sweater

El primer patrón de We Are Knitters que hice fue el jersey "Sabrina Sweater" y es un diseño que me gusta tanto que a principios de 2016 se me ocurrió hacer una versión de invierno utilizando los ovillos de "The Petite Wool" que había comprado un año antes.

Como veis es un proyecto con una historia larga, pero en todo este tiempo no he perdido la ilusión de tener mi jersey de lana con bolitas y por fin, (sí, por fin!) he terminado mi Sabrina Sweater  de invierno y ya puedo tachar otro proyecto más de mi lista de cosas sin acabar.

Obviamente he tenido que hacer algunos cambios con respecto al patrón original porque el tamaño de "The Petite Wool" no es el mismo que el de "Pima Cotton" (que es el hilo para el que está pensado el jersey) así que estoy doblemente orgullosa porque he conseguido acertar con la talla a la primera.

¿Qué os parece?

The first  We Are Knitters pattern I made was the "Sabrina Sweater" and it is a design I like that much that at the beginning of 2016 I decided to make a winter vision using  "The Petite Wool" balls I had bought one year before.

As you might see it is a project with a long story, but all this time I didn't miss the excitement of having my bubbles wool sweater and finally, (yeah, finally!) I finished my winter  Sabrina Sweater and I can cross out one more project from my list of unfinished things.

Obviously I had to make some adjustments to the original pattern as the size of  "The Petite Wool" is not the same of the "Pima Cotton" (which is the yarn suggested for the sweater) so I am doubly proud as I made the correct size of the sweater right away.

Esta semana he retomado otro de mis proyectos olvidados, una versión en lana del Sabrina sweater de We Are Knitters  que empecé a tejer a principios de 2016.

Es un modelo que ya conozco porque fue mi primer patrón de WAK  aunque entonces hice la versión original que es con ovillos algodón.

Por ahora sólo tengo hecha la parte delantera pero esta lana se teje muy rápido así que siendo optimista seguro que en un mes podré estrenar jersey.

This week I have came back to another of my forgotten projects, a wool version of the Sabrina Sweater from  We Are Knitters which I started knitting at the beginning of 2016.

It is a design which I already know because it was my first  WAK pattern although then I made the original version which is with cotton balls.

Until the moment I have only made the front part but this wool is knitted very fast so being optimistic surely I will have a new sweater in one month.

Después de mucho tiempo por fin he empezado a tejer con los ovillos de The Petite Wool que compré hace casi un año.

Si conocéis los modelos de We Are Knitters seguro que ya os habéis imaginado lo que estoy tejiendo pero ya sabéis que a mí me gusta mantener la sorpresa hasta que el trabajo está terminado.

After a long time I have finally started knitting with The Petite Wool balls I bought almost one year ago.

If you know We Are Knitters patterns I am sure you would have already imagined what I am knitting but you know that I like to keep the surprise until the work is finished.

The Petite Wool

Con estos ovillos de The Petite Wool  en color melocotón de We Are Knitters me he despedido de las compras de lana hasta que vuelva el frío.

Hace tiempo que tengo una idea rondándome la cabeza así que aproveché las rebajas que hicieron hace unas semanas para tener lana suficiente para ponerla en práctica.

De momento he dejado los ovillos (y mi idea) en la lista de espera, pero en cuanto vaya terminando con lo que tengo en curso me pongo manos a la obra.


With these balls of  The Petite Wool in peach colour from We Are Knitters I've said goodbye to wool purchases until cold weather is back.

I have an idea around my mind since a while ago so I took advantage of their sales a couple of weeks ago to have enough wool to put it into practice.

By now I've left the balls (and my idea) on the waiting list, but as soon as I finish all my ongoing projects I will get on with it.

Juliet Tee - We Are Knitters (II)

Tras dos meses de tejer de manera intermitente por fin puedo decir que... ¡mi   Juliet Tee   está terminada!

Compré el kit hace un montón de tiempo para que me diera tiempo a tenerla lista para el verano y aunque he tardado un poco más de lo que me gustaría todavía voy a poder disfrutarla durante unos meses.

Estoy muy contenta con el resultado porque el corte de la camiseta favorece un montón, así que estoy segura de que se va a convertir en una de mis prendas de verano favoritas.

Todavía no la he estrenado, pero no creo que tarde mucho en hacerlo...

After two months of intermittent knitting I can finally say that... my  Juliet Tee  is finished!

I bought the kit a while ago in order to be able to finish it for summer and although it took me a little more than I wanted I can still wear it for a couple of months.

I am very happy with the result because the style of the top looks very good on, so I am quite sure it is going to become one of my favorite summer outfits.

I haven't worn it yet, but I don't think it would take me too long...

Happy (Crafting) Weekend

Mi objetivo para este fin de semana es terminar la Juliet Tee de We Are Knitters  que empecé a tejer a principios de junio.

La he ido haciendo poco a poco y me queda muy poquito para tenerla lista, así que no voy a parar hasta terminarla.

Espero que paséis un buen fin de semana, yo seguiré tejiendo...

My goal for this weekend is to finish the  Juliet Tee  by  We Are Knitters  that I started knitting at the beginning of June.

I've been working on it little by little and it is almost ready now, so I am not going to stop until it is done.

Juliet Tee - We Are Knitters

Ahora que tengo mi último proyecto casi terminado voy a empezar a tejer la Juliet Tee  de  We Are Knitters.

Compré el kit hace unos meses para que me diera tiempo a hacerla para este verano, así que ahora que empieza a hacer buen tiempo voy a tener que tejer como una loca para que no me pase como con el Sabrina Sweater.

Ya os iré mostrando mis avances...

Now that my last project is almost finished I am going to start knitting the  Juliet Tee  from  We Are Knitters.

I bought the kit a couple of months ago in order to be able to finish it for summer, so now that nice weather is coming I am going to knit like crazy so I don't repeat what I did with the  Sabrina Sweater.

I will show you my progresses...

1760 Sweater - We Are Knitters

 

Como ya os adelanté, mi  1760 Sweater  de  We Are Knitters  ya está terminado!

 

Fue un auténtico flechazo cuando lo ví en su página web así que lo compré enseguida para poder ir haciéndolo con tiempo (para que no me pasara como con el Sabrina Sweater ).

 

Lo escogí en color gris porque, aunque el azul de la foto me encantaba, me iba a ser más fácil combinarlo.

 

La lana es muy gordita y calentita (ideal para el clima de donde yo vivo) y se teje super rápido. En condiciones normales y sin interrupciones hubiera tardado una semana en hacerlo.

 

Ahora toca lo mejor, disfrutarlo!

 

 

As I already told you, my  1760 Sweater  by  We Are Knitters  is finished!

 

When I saw it on their website it was love at first sight so I bought it quickly in order to be able to knit it on time (not to repeat what happened with the Sabrina Sweater ).

 

I chose it in grey colour because, eventhough I loved the blue colour in the picture, it would be easier for me to match with my clothes.

 

The wool is quite bulky and very warm (perfect for the weather of where I live) and it is knitted super quick.  Normally and without interruptions I would have knitted it in one week.

 

Now comes the best part, to enjoy it!

Este fin de semana llega el frío (y la nieve) así que mi plan es terminar de tejer mi  1760 sweater   de  We Are Knitters  para poder estrenarlo cuanto antes.

This weekend cold weather (and snow) is arriving so my plan is to finish knitting my  1760 sweater by  We Are Kitters  to wear it as soon as possible.

NYC Collar - We Are Knitters

Tras mi experiencia con el  Sabrina Sweater  de We Are Knitters, no he podido resistirme a comprar más kits para tejer.

Uno de ellos ha sido el  NYC Collar (al que ya había echado el ojo el año pasado) en un precioso color fucsia para alegrarme los días de frío.

Estoy muy contenta con el resultado. El cuello es super suavecito y calentito además de un complemento muy original

After my experience with the  Sabrina Sweater  from We Are Knitters, I couldn't resist myself to buy more knitting kits.

One of them is the  NYC Collar  (which had already caught my attention last year) in a beautiful fuchsia colour to brighten up my cold weather days.

I am very happy with the result. The collar is very soft and warm apart from being a very original accesory.

Sabrina Sweater - We Are Knitters

Después de unos meses por fin he terminado mi regalo de cumpleaños: el Sabrina Sweater de We Are Knitters.

En realidad no se tarda mucho en tejer, pero he tenido varios encargos y lo he ido dejando en un segundo plano.

No es la prenda más indicada para el frío, pero por suerte dentro de muy poco voy a poder disfrutar del calor otra vez y podré estrenarlo.


After some months I finally finished my birthday present:  Sabrina Sweater by  We Are Knitters.

Actually it doesn't take too much time to knit it, but I received some custom orders so I had to leave it in the background.

It is not the best garment for cold weather, but luckily I will soon enjoy warm weather again so I will be able to wear it for the first time then.

Regalo de cumpleaños / Birthday Gift

Hoy es mi cumpleaños y uno de los regalos que más ilusión me ha hecho es este kit de We Are Knitters.

Me gusta la idea de fabricarme mi propio regalo, así que estaré encantada de colocar la etiqueta de "You can knit it yourself! Leave your grandma alone!" que se incluye en el kit.

Prometo poner fotos con el resultado...


Today is my birthday and one of the gifts I liked the most is this We Are Knitters kit.
