I'm back with some of the things I knitted for Christmas.

This time I will show you two wool earflap hats  that I knitted following Chullo pattern by Esperanza Rosas.

I had to make two identical hats in different colours and as I thought that making them in one plain colour was a little bit boring I decided to join three yarns of different colours for each hat.

I think that the flecked effect makes them more easy to match, what do you think?

(todavía estáis a tiempo!)

Although my sweater from the Beatnik KAL is still in progress I couldn't resist the temptation of joining the Sous Sous KAL organised by Loop London.

I fell in love with Sous Sous the first time I saw it, in fact I don't think it's a coincidence because its designer is Nora Gaughan, who also created the Beatnik.

The KAL is starting the 1st of February and my intention is to make it little by little while I keep finishing other ongoing things.

Don't tell me that after seeing these beautiful pictures you don't want to join too... (you are still on time!).

Happy (Crafting) Weekend

Yesterday I finished the wool cowl from  Breaking the Wool that I indulged myself with at Christmas and you can imagine that I haven't waited a second to wear it.

Soon I will talk to you about it in detail and I will show you some pictures with the final result.

I wish you a very creative weekend!

Mis DIY favoritos / My favorite DIYs # 17 - Le prénom en tricotin

I like experimenting with yarn a lot and one of my latest creations has been making some crochet names for decorating a kids room.

To do so I followed  Petit Poulou's tutorial that you can find here, although I crocheted the cord instead of using the i-cord maker.

I had seen the idea a quite while ago but I hadn't decided myself to make it until now. I find it is a very cute and versatile decor element as it can be put on a door, a shelf, a frame...

I have already thought of more similar ideas, so as soon as I can I will get on with it.

Just before Christmas I finished a very special gift for Nora, a little baby girl named as my niece and whose daddy and mummy shared many adventures with me during my university years.

As in other occasions when I had to knit for babies I chose a pattern from Phildar (you already know that I love their catalogues) and I selected a very simple sweater embellished by two little bows.

It took me quite a while to make it because each piece is knitted separately but even so, making it was worth it as it is really cute and I know that Nora is going to enjoy it a lot.

En proceso / Work in progress

With all the Christmas fuss I had left my Beatnik sweater a little bit abandoned and now I am finally back at it again.

I think this little break has been for good because arans are really a hard job and I felt a little bit fed up.

The bad thing is that now I have to hurry up if I want to wear it this year and I already have new projects on my list...

Garter Ear Flap Hat

Almost one year ago I told you here about Purl Bee's Garter Ear Flap Hat and this Christmas it was one of the gifts I knitted for my niece Nora.

I always say that making things for babies is a joy and that's because it is great how fast things are knitted and how cute they look in small sizes.

My niece is not a great fan of hats but the truth is that the hat looks really well on her and she seems a little pixie when she wears it, so I think I have a lot of hats to make...

Happy (Crafting) Weekend

During this Christmas period I've knitted and crochetted many and different things, so from next week on I will be showing you all the things I've made.

I wish you a nice weekend (I will try to find some time to finish off a little something that it is still on my needles...).

Breaking the Wool

I have plenty of reasons to buy wool or anything related to knitting and crochet, so the Day of the Three Wise Kings couldn't be an exception and I made myself a very special gift, a kit from Breaking the Wool to make a wool cowl.

The person behind this brand is  Mlle. Sophie (I already told you about her here) and I've been following her since before I started this blog so I am very happy to have one of her designs on my hands.

I am really looking forward to start knitting this wonderful wool...
