Ombre Crochet

If you remember this Easter I made a crochet bunny cover for a jar and that's because I love to keep all kinds of boxes, jars, pots... to give them a new use.

Among my "treasures" I have several big jars I feel sad to throw away so this summer I found the way to give a second chance to one of them.

I was inspired by the ombre crochet technique used in these baskets by One Sheepihs Girl and I thought it was the perfect way to put some order in my knitting needles.

What I like the most about this kind of projects is that, besides being quick and easy to make, they add a personal touch to my home, something important in these days when we all buy furniture and decor objects in the same shops.

Inspiración / Inspiration - Cozy at Home

I don't know about you but if my feet are cold I can't get warm so I've made a little research of knitted slippers and socks which I find the perfect accesory to be cozy at home.

The designs I've chosen are quite different but there is one that I specially like so I guess that sooner or later it will be on my things to knit list.

Do you already have a favorite one?

I am sure that many knitters will share with me the joy for the arrival of Autumn  because Summer is great but there is nothing like autumn afternoons to knit and daydream about super warm hats and scarfs.

There are still some unfinished projects from last year on my knitting basket so I am starting this season with a little advantage although I also have a lot of new ideas that I hope to be able to make little by little.

I hope you will enjoy autumn and lots of balls of wool too...

Usually we always give clothes to babies and we forget that they also need to have fun so I thought it was a good idea to add a little gift to the baby outfit I showed you last week: a crochet bunny rattle.

I took the idea from the book "Amigurumi Two! Crocheted Toys for Me, You and Baby Too" which I had already told you about some time ago (you can rember it here) and which I've been willing to make a long time ago as I find it is a very cute idea.

Don't you think it is the perfect present for a baby?

Rachel Khoo's Kitchen Notebook

I am not a wiz at cooking but since I've discoreved  Rachel Khoo's cooking TV show and seeing how easy and pretty is everything she makes I am in the mood for cooking.

The first step was to buy her book " Rachel Khoo's Kitchen Notebook " and one of my resolutions for this "new academic year" is to improve my culinary skills putting into practice some of her recipes.

This year winter weekends promise to be very entertaining...

Chaleco y patucos para niña / Girly vest and baby booties

This Summer I've been busy making things for babies and one of my latest works was a knitted outfit  for a baby girl who was born at the end of August.

The idea was to make something for Autumn and the "Mini Gilet de Jeune Fille" by Madame c'est Chouette vest seemed a very good idea as well as very practical for midseason months

To finish the outfit I decided to make a pair of baby booties in the same colour following "Lavish Booties" pattern by  Lion Brand.

At the end I don't know if I enjoyed most knitting the outfit or taking the photographs, but the truth is that I have a great time making things for the little ones.

Cosas que me gustan / Things I like # 28 - Colorblock Bias Blanket by Purl Bee

I've been willing to make this post a long time ago, but it just seemed too much to publish (again) a blanket in the height of summer.

So... as we are already officially in the pre-fall campaign it is the perfect moment to talk about the wonderful Colorblock Bias Blanket by Purl Bee.

The first time I saw it I thought it was a triangular scarf (I guess the tassels in the corners distracted me) but as a blanket it is much more appealing, it feels a lot like getting wrapped in it.

Obviously it is a project that takes a while to make but it is knitted in garter stitch and that always makes the work easier, as well as knitting in different colours.

What is there about Purl Bee  designs that I always like them so much...
