¡Feliz domingo!

The month of January has been quite productive, although I didn't have time to show you many things here.

I have knitted new projects and repeated some that I had already done like the wonderful Take Heart hat by Fiona Alice that I showed you here.

In addition I have made some progresses in my goal of reducing stash, so I can't complain.

I am looking forward for you to seeing my finished projects, let's see if you like them...

Happy sunday!

This year for Christmas I've again served as an assistant of Santa and the Three Wise Kings and I have knitted two pairs of wool snoods and hats for my sister-in-law Rebeca and her sister Laura.

It was my sister-in-law who came up with the idea and after suggesting her several proposals she chose a  Phildar pattern of matching hat and snood.

The two sets are identical and they are knitted with DROPS Eskimo wool in two different colours so they can exchange them if they want or even combine a garment of each colour.

In addition, the lilac wool is the same I used to knit my niece's hat and scarf that I showed you here ,so now she is delighted to wear as her mommy.

I am sure that this year they won't mind if the day is too cold...

Happy (Crafting) Weekend

Lately time flies for me and I arrive at the weekend exhausted and feeling overwhelmed, so today I am delighted to be able to say "Thank God it's Friday!".

Let's see if this weekend I can update myself with all the millions of things I have to do...

Have a nice weekend!

Craft Books ♥ 8 - Happy Ganchillo

Before Christmas Grupo Anaya contacted me to collaborate in the promotion of a crochet book recently published by Editorial Oberón.

I loved the idea since the beginning  (you already know that I am a craft books lover) and I was looking forward to knowing new publications, specially if they are in Spanish as they are not very common.

The book in question is "Happy Ganchillo" by Sara Gil Alvera an author with a great brackground in social networks and communication media where she shares her passion for crochet.

I must admit that I had never heard about her before so her book is perfect for me so I can learn things about her.

The book is addressed to people who still don't have many crochet skills and a wide section of the book is dedicated to information about materials and techniques to learn little by little.

In addition, in the techniques section it includes QR codes that allow to access to video tutorials with more detailed explanations (this is something that caught my attention a lot as until the moment I hadn't seen it in any book and, truly, I find it is a very good idea).

At the end there is also a very wide section with patterns to put into practice what we have learned where we can find all kinds of projects: accesories, gift ideas, decor objects...

To summarise I will tell you that I liked "Happy Crochet" a lot because its content is very well curated and it has a very nice design so I recommend it to you if you are looking for ideas to learn or to put into practice your crochet skills.

Cosas que me gustan / Things I like # 30 - Friendly Fair Isle Hat

The year has just started and I don't loose the good habit of gathering things I like.

Probably only by seeing the picture of the Friendly Fair Isle Hat you will recognise it is a pattern from Purl Soho, the design and the colours are very characteristic of their creations.

It actually is a very simple hat with a slight touch of fair isle but with those neon colours and the pom pom I've fallen in love with it.

What else can we ask for?

Bufanda y gorro para Nora / Scarf and hat for Nora

Lately I didn't have much tiem to make something for my niece but at Christmas I couldn't miss a hat and a scarf for her.

The set I made for her last year still fits her (eventhough I don't think it would last more than this year) so she has started to have her own little collection of winter accesories.

The starting point for the set was this scarf pattern by DROPS which is a short scarf that can be adjusted around the neck and is very easy to wear.

To choose the hat I searched for a pattern on Ravelry and I finally decided myself for Basic Hat Bel pattern by Muki Crafts which I like how it matches the scarf although it is not knitted in the same stitch.

My niece is still very small but when she opened the package with her little hat and scarf she was very happy so it seems I have a little fan in the family.

Pequeños caprichos confesables / Little confessable whims - Fauna y Flora

Since I started the blog I've told you several times about Fauna y Flora (it is one of my favorite Etsy shops, I recommended it for handmade gifts and as an inspiration for Movember) but strangely I still didn't have anything from them, something I have already solved because this year the Three Wise Men have surprised me with one of their pretty creations.

Actually it was clear that this year we were ment to find each other because I love anything that includes little stars and their latest collections is inspired in celestial bodies.

Now I can say for sure that I am a real fan of  Fauna y Flora.

Crafts Books ♥ 7 - eccomin book

Grazie Tomoko! ♥

Some time ago I published a post about the wonderful creations of eccomin and since then I've been in touch via  Instagram with Tomoko, the creator of the brand.

It might seem a little weird but to communicate we talk in Italian because even if Tomoko is Japanese she lived in Italy just like me, so it is the quickest and easiest way for us and that is the reason why this post is also translated into Italian.

Tomoko works as a professional textile designer and a while ago she published a book with patterns to make knit bags and she has been so kind to give me an issue that she sent herself from Japan.

I can't be more thankful and happy as it is a very nice gift and in addition her book is a real treasure, it is full of wonderful and very original bags and I can't wait to finish some of my ongoing projects so I can start any of her designs.

My library of craft books is quite wide but I can assure you that eccomin book has a very special place.

Thank you Tomoko! ♥
