Happy (Crafting) Weekend

Últimamente estoy muy centrada en terminar proyectos olvidados y en dar uso a los ovillos que tengo en casa (sin olvidar el desafío "Make Nine Challenge" ) pero de vez en cuando también tengo flechazos y no puedo resistirme a comprar algún capricho.

Para compensar el momento de debilidad, intento buscar un proyecto concreto en el que poder utilizar mi nueva adquisición y también me sirve como elemento de presión para darme más prisa en terminar lo que tengo en curso.

De momento me está funcionando aunque en mi cabeza siempre hay un pequeño baile de ovillos y patrones buscando la combinación perfecta...

Lately I am very focused on finishing abandoned projects and on using the skeins I have at home (without forgetting the  "Make Nine Challenge") but every now and then I also have a crush and I can't resist from buying a little treat.

In order to compensate my weak moment, I try to find a specific project where to use my new acquisition and I also use it as a pressure element so I will finish quicker my ongoing projects.

At the moment is working out well for me although in my head there's always a little dance of skeins and patterns looking for the perfect match...

Cocoon Summer Sweater

El primer proyecto que he terminado este otoño ha sido el jersey "Cocoon Summer Sweater"  de Pickles  del que os hablé a finales de septiembre.

Como ya expliqué entonces, no estaba en mis planes tejer este diseño pero me gustó tanto cuando lo vi en Instagram  que no pude resistirme.

Cuando lo estaba tejiendo, me recordaba en cierto modo al jersey "Sunday Sweater"  que terminé a finales del año pasado porque los dos siguen la técnica "top-down" y empiezan con una especie de punto canalé ancho, sin embargo el resultado es completamente diferente y tiene un acabado más ajustado.

Mi idea inicial era utilizar el jersey "Cocoon"  para los días de otoño en los que no hiciera mucho frío pero, aunque lo terminé hace ya unas semanas, todavía no he podido estrenarlo porque la temperatura no ha acompañado demasiado. 

La verdad es que me imagino que no podré utilizarlo hasta primavera así que estoy pensando repetir el patrón con unos ovillos de lana para hacer una versión más calentita del jersey.

The first project I have finished this autumn was  "Cocoon Summer Sweater" by  Pickles which I told you about at the end of September.

As I already explained then, knitting this design was not on my plans but when I saw it on  Instagram I liked it so much and I couldn't resist myself.

When I was knitting it, it reminded me somehow to  "Sunday Sweater" which I finished at the end of last year because both of them follow the "top-down" technique and they start with some sort of wide rib stitch, however the result is completely different and the finishing is more tight.

My first idea was to use  "Cocoon" sweater warm autumn days but, although I already finished it a couple of weeks ago, I still haven't been able to wear it because the weather didn't keep up very much.

The truth is that I guess that I won't be able to use it until springtime so I am thinking about repeating the pattern with some wool skeins to make a warmer version of the sweater.

 

Mini calabazas de ganchillo / Mini crochet pumpkins

 

Desde que empezó el otoño no he parado de pensar en calabazas de colores y al final no he podido resistirme y he hecho las mini calabazas de ganchillo de las que os hablé a principios de mes.

La verdad es que después de publicar esa entrada encontré más modelos de calabazas que me gustaban (algunos los compartí en mi cuenta de Instagram ) pero ya que os había propuesto esta idea me pareció que lo mejor era probarla yo misma.

Tal y como pensaba es un DIY muy rápido de hacer y viene muy bien para utilizar restos de ovillos porque no se necesita mucha cantidad de hilo, así que es un proyecto perfecto para hacer limpieza de "stash".  

En el tutorial original sugieren utilizar algodón pero yo utilicé unos restos de lana y en realidad se puede usar cualquier tipo hilo, incluso creo que mezclando distintas calidades y grosores puede quedar muy bonito.

De momento sólo he hecho tres calabazas pero me gustaría ampliar la familia incluyendo distintos modelos de punto y ganchillo en distintos colores para construir mi propio mini bosque de calabazas.

¿Qué os parece la idea?

Since autumn began I haven't stopped thinking about colour pumpkins and finally I couldn't resist myself and I've made the mini crochet pumpkins I told you about at the beginning of this month.

The truth is that after publishing that post I found more pumpkin designs that  I liked (I shared some of them on my  Instagram account) but as I had already suggested this idea I thought that it was better to test it myself.

Just as I thought it is a very quick to make DIY and it's  good to use skeins leftovers because you don't need a big amount of yarn, so it is a project which is perfect for stash clearance.

In the original tutorial they suggest using cotton yarn but I used som wool leftovers and actually you can use any type of yarn, I even think that mixing different qualities and thicknesses would be really pretty.

At the moment I have only made three pumpkins but I would love to increase the family including different knit and crochet designs in different colours to make my own mini pumpkin woods.

Normalmente soy muy metódica y acabo todos los proyectos en un periodo de tiempo más o menos razonable pero hay dos proyectos que tengo abandonados desde hace mucho y me he propuesto terminarlos este año pase lo que pase.

Uno de ellos es una mantita de "grannies" de ganchillo que empecé en 2014 con mucha ilusión y que hasta la semana pasada tenía guardada en una cesta de la labores.

Todavía tengo bastante tarea por hacer pero he cogido el ritmo y se me está haciendo muy entretenido escoger los colores para cada cuadradito.

Espero que dentro de poco os pueda enseñar mi manta de ganchillo terminada.

Usually I am very thorough and I finish all the projects in a quite reasonable lapse of time but there are two projects which I have left abandoned since quite a lot of time and I am decided to finish them this year whatever happens.

One of them is a crochet grannies blanket which I started very enthusiastically in 2014 and that until last week I kept in a crafts basket.

I still have some work to do but I already got into it and I find very entertaining choosing the different colours for each square.

I hope that I can show you my crochet blanket finished soon.

Happy (Crafting) Weekend

Al final de verano decidí suscribirme de nuevo a  la revista Pom Pom Quarterly  porque echaba mucho de menos recibir sus publicaciones en mi buzón.

El motivo principal porque el que me di de baja hace dos años es porque no tengo tiempo para hacer tantos proyectos pero, aunque sigo sin tener tiempo, en realidad es más que una revista de patrones y leer sus artículos es siempre fuente de inspiración.

De momento (y hasta que termine algunas cosas que tengo en proceso) me limitaré a ponerme al día con sus lecturas interesantes y a seleccionar mis diseños favoritos para futuros proyectos.

At the end of summer I decided to subscribe me again to  Pom Pom Quarterly magazine because I missed a lot receiving their issues in my mailbox.

The main reason why I unsubscribed two years ago was that I don't have time to make so many projects but, althouhg I still have no time, actually it is more than a pattern magazine and reading their articles is always a source of inspiration.

At the moment (and until I finish some things I have in progress) I will restrict myself to being up to date with their interesting readings and to choose my favorite designs for future projects.

Inspiración / Inspiration - Sézane AW 2020

 

A estas alturas no creo que la marca Sézane sea una novedad para nadie y, aunque tienen muchas prendas icónicas, su sección de punto es mi favorita (hay pocas marcas que tengan en cada temporada tantos modelos diferentes y tan maravillosos).

Sus diseños más conocidos son las chaquetas de punto fino pero en la colección de otoño que han presentado la semana pasada hay prendas de punto de estilos muy diferentes que son realmente bonitas y una auténtica inspiración si estás buscando ideas para tejer.

He hecho una pequeña selección con mis jerséis favoritos y, aunque sé que no conseguiría el mismo resultado, me estoy planteando tejer alguno de ellos como reto personal.

¿Alguna vez habéis tenido la tentación de tejer vuestro propio Sézane ?

At this point I don't think that  Sézane brand is something new to anyone and, although they have many iconic pieces, their knitwear section is my favorite (there are few brands that have so many different and so wonderful garments in each season).

Their most known designs are fine knit cardigans but in the autumn collection they presented last week there are knit garments of very different styles which are really pretty and a real inspiration if your looking for ideas to knit.

I have made a small selection of my favorite sweaters and, although I know that I wouldn't achieve the same result, I am thinking of knitting one of them as a personal challenge.

Conjunto de bebé / Baby outfit

Como ya os adelanté en mi cuenta de Instagram  durante el verano tuve la oportunidad de hacer muchas cosas para bebés y ha llegado el turno de que os enseñe el último conjunto que tenía pendiente  de publicar.

Es un conjunto de bebé completo compuesto por chaquetita, pantaloncitos y zapatillas y, al mismo tiempo, es algo diferente a otros conjuntos que he hecho antes porque, aunque incluye algunas de mis prendas favoritas (hola, pantaloncitos), son todo diseños nuevos para mí.

La chaqueta de punto es el patrón "Harald's Jacket"  de Strikdet  y a simple vista es un modelo muy sencillo pero tiene un corte muy bonito que queda bien con todo.

Los pantaloncitos tienen un tipo de punto más elaborado que es muy entretenido de tejer y son el patrón "Picnic Baby Bloomers"  de Sandra Magalhães. No es ninguna novedad lo mucho que me gustan este tipo de prendas y este modelo con tirantes me encanta especialmente.

Por último, el toque final lo ponen las  Adidas Superstar  de Crochet Sneakers  que desde siempre son uno de mis modelos favoritos de zapatillas así que me ha hecho mucha ilusión hacerlas en tamaño mini.

No sé si es por la novedad pero me gusta mucho el conjunto y no me importaría repetirlo y probar otras combinaciones de color.

As I already advanced on my  Instagram account during the summer I had the chance to make a lot of things for babies and now it's the turn to show you the last outfit I had waiting to be published.

It's a full baby outfit composed of a little jacket, baby bloomers and shoes and, at the same time, it is something different to other outfits I have made before because, although it includes some of my favorite garments (hello, baby bloomers), all of the designs are new to me.

The knit jacket is  "Harald's Jacket" pattern by  Strikdet and at first glance it is a very simple design but it has a very nice cut that fits well with everything.

The baby bloomers have a more elaborated stitch which is very amusing to knit and they are  "Picnic Baby Bloomers" pattern by  Sandra Magalhães. It is no news how much I like this kind of garments and I love this design with suspenders specially.

Last, the final touch is put by the  Adidas Superstar by  Crochet Sneakers which have always been one of my favorite sneakers designs so I've been so happy to make them in a mini size.

I don't know whether it's because it is something new but I like the baby outfit a lot and I wouldn't mind to repeat it and try new colour combinations.

Mis DIY favoritos / My favorite DIYs # 32 - Mini Crochet Pumpkins

 

Este año me he adelantado un poco y ya he empezado a recopilar ideas DIY para hacer calabazas de Halloween porque es una idea que también me gusta mucho como decoración de otoño.

El año pasado escogí unas calabazas gigantes de punto y en esta ocasión las que más me han gustado han sido las mini calabazas de ganchillo de  Caro Tricote.

Me han llamado mucho la atención por su color pero también porque son tan pequeñitas que pueden quedar bien en cualquier sitio.

Seguro que ya se os ha ocurrido dónde podríais ponerlas...

This year I am a little bit in advance and I have already started gathering DIY ideas to make Halloween pumpkins because it is an idea that I also like a lot as autumn decor.

Last year I chose some maxi knit pumpkins and this time the ones I like the most are mini crochet pumpkins by  Caro Tricote.

They caught my attention by their colour but also because they are so small that they would fit perfectly everywhere.

I am sure you have already thought where you could put them...
