En proceso... / Work in progress...

Antes de que llegue el otoño y sólo me apetezca tejer con lana gordita y calentita, quiero aprovechar para terminar algunos de los ovillos de algodón que tengo en mi "stash".

Así que, buscando ideas he recuperado el precioso libro escrito por eccomin  y he encontrado un proyecto perfecto para hacer en las próximas semanas. 

De momento esto es sólo un pequeño adelanto de los colores que he escogido aunque espero poder mostrar mis avances y el resultado final muy pronto.

Before autumn arrives when I will only want to knit with chunky and warm wool, I would like to make the most to finish some of the cotton skeins I have on my stash.

So, looking for some ideas I've come back to the beautiful book written by  eccomin and I have found a perfect project to make during the next weeks.

By the moment this is only a little preview of the colours I have chosen although I hope to be able to show you my progress and the final result very soon.

Mis tiendas favoritas de Etsy / My favorite Etsy shops #8 - Helena Carrington

Hace tiempo que no escribo sobre mis tiendas favoritas de Etsy así que, con las vacaciones de verano todavía frescas en mi cabeza, me parece el momento perfecto para hablar de las preciosas ilustraciones de Helena Carrington.

La temática de sus dibujos son fachadas de edificios representativos de distintas ciudades realizados con tantos detalles que casi podrían servir para jugar a adivinar de qué lugar se trata. 

Como buena enamorada de los viajes y la papelería que soy, me parecen la combinación perfecta para tener un buen recuerdo de las ciudades que más me han gustado.

Todavía no he comprado ninguna pero ya he escogido mis ilustraciones favoritas y seguro que no tardo mucho en tenerlas colgadas en mi casa.

I haven't written about my favorite Etsy shops for a while so, with summer holidays still fresh on my mind, I think it is the perfect moment to talk about  Helena Carrington's beautiful illustrations.

The thematic of her designs are representative building facades from different cities done with so many details that they could almost be used as a "which place it is" guessing game.

As the good traveling and stationery lover I am, I find them the perfect combo to have a nice souvenir from the cities I have liked the most.

I still haven't bought any of them but I have already chosen my favorite prints and I am sure it won't take me too much time to have them hanging in my house.

Lui Panda amigurumi

Hace más de un año hice mi primer Lui Panda  de amigurumi  y me gustó tanto que prometí repetirlo en otros colores. 

Desde entonces he hecho varias cosas para bebé pero ha sido este verano cuando por fin he  tenido la oportunidad de hacer otro osito Lui Panda  para una pequeñina que nació hace unos meses.

La verdad es que es uno de esos patrones de amigurumi que no me importa repetir porque sigo pensando que un osito panda de ganchillo es un regalo perfecto para un bebé.

Mi sueño sería tener un Lui Panda  de cada color (y ponerlos todos juntos en una estantería) pero me conformaré con hacer uno para mí en cuanto tenga tiempo y luego ya veremos si se incorpora alguno más a la colección...

More than one year ago I made my first  amigurumi Lui Panda and I liked it that much that I promised to repeat it in different colours.

Since then I have made several things for babies but this summer I finally had the chance to make another  Lui Panda bear for a baby girl who was born a couple of months ago.

The truth is it is one of those amigurumi patterns I don't mind to repeat because I keep thinking that a little crochet panda bear is the perfect gift for a baby.

My dream would be to have one  Lui Panda in each colour (and to put all of them together on a shelf) but I will resign myself with making just one for me when I have time and later we will see if some others join the collection...

Happy (Crafting) Weekend

Mi proyecto principal de este verano es un patrón de la edición de primavera de Pom Pom Quarterly  y, con un poco de suerte, dentro de poco estará terminado.

Desde que me decidí a hacerlo ha pasado mucho tiempo pero me gusta la idea de poder dedicarle unas horas cada día y ver cómo poco a poco va tomando forma.

My main project this summer is a pattern from  Pom Pom Quarterly spring issue and, luckily, it will be finished soon.

It's been a while since I decided to make it but I like the idea of being able to spend a couple of hours on it each day and see how little by little it keeps taking shape.

Inspiración / Inspiration: Siwoo in Paris

Si hay alguien que piensa que el bordado es algo antiguo es porque todavía no conoce a Siwoo in Paris  a quien descubrí gracias a Instagram  y que nunca deja de sorprenderme con la genialidad de su trabajo.

Para mí el bordado sigue siendo una de mis asignaturas pendientes, así que cuando veo sus fotos me quedo maravillada con la precisión de las puntadas y con cada minúsculo detalle de la labor.

La verdad es que me encanta todo lo que hace pero... no puedo negar que mi debilidad son los bordados que hacen referencia a las películas de Wes Anderson  y me encantaría decorar mi casa con alguno de ellos (o todos, en realidad...).

If someone thinks that embroidery is somehting old fashioned is because they still don't know  Siwoo in Paris whom I discovered via  Instagram and who never ceases to amaze me with her great work.

For me embroidery is still one of my unfinished businesses, so when I see her pictures I am delighted by the precision of the stitches and by each tiny detail of the piece.

To be honest I love everything she does but... I can deny that my soft spot are the embroideries representing  Wes Anderson films and I would love to decorate my house with one of them (or all of them, really...).

Popcorn Suit

En abril os enseñé en Instagram  un conjunto de bebé que estaba tejiendo y ahora, por fin, puedo enseñaros el resultado.

Como os conté entonces, estaba repitiendo diseño y es que, cuando supe que unos amigos iban a tener un bebé, enseguida me vino a la cabeza el patrón "Popcorn Suit"  de Paelas  porque es uno de mis favoritos.

Los patucos tampoco son ninguna novedad ya que se trata del patrón "Lavish Booties"  de Lion Brand  que he tejido ya alguna vez. Quedan bien con todo así que siempre son una buena elección.

Teniendo tan claros los patrones pensé que era un buen momento para experimentar un poco con el color (ya sabéis que me encanta probar colores diferentes) y escogí unos ovillos de DROPS Safran  en color amatista porque me pareció un tono muy bonito y original para ropa de bebé.

In April I showed you on  Instagram a baby outfit I was knitting and now I can finally show you the result.

As I already told you then, I was repeating the design as, when I knew that some friends were going to have a baby, "Popcorn Suit" pattern by  Paelas immediately came to my mind because it is one of my favorites.

The baby shoes aren't a novelty either as I followed  "Lavish Booties" pattern by  Lion Brand which I have already knitted previously. They match with everything so they are always a good choice.

Being so sure about the patterns I thought it was a good moment to play a little bit with colour (you already know that I love to try different colours) so I chose some DROPS Safran skeins in amethyst colour because I found it was a very beautiful and original shade for baby clothing.
