Bolsito de verano de punto / Summer knit sachet

Cuando eccomin  me envió su libro de accesorios hace unos años me propuse ir haciendo todos los diseños poco a poco y este verano he avanzado un poquito más en mi propósito tejiendo un bolsito de verano.

Desde el principio tenía claro cuál era el modelo que iba a hacer pero no sabía qué hilo utilizar hasta que encontré la variedad "Veggie Wool"  de Casa Sol  que me pareció perfecta para tejer mi bolsito.

La siguiente elección un poco "complicada" fue escoger la tela para el forro interior porque tenía varias que me gustaban y, en este caso, me decidí por una tela estampada con mandalas de colores que contrasta muy bien con el color rosa del hilo.

Como siempre que hago un diseño de eccomin  me encanta el resultado y, si me seguís por Instagram, ya habréis visto que  cómo queda el bolsito.

When  eccomin sent me her accesories book a couple of years ago I was decided to make all the designs little by little and this summer I have moved a little bit forward in my resolution by knitting a summer sachet.

Since the beginning I knew the pattern I was going to make but I didn't know which yarn to use until I found  "Veggie Wool" range by  Casa Sol which seemed perfect to knit my sachet.

The next a little bit "difficult" choice was choosing the fabric for the linen as I had several ones I liked and, in this case, I chose a printed fabric with colour mandalas which contrasts very well with the pink colour of the yarn.

As every time I make a design from  eccomin I love the result and, if you follow me on Instagram, you would have already seen how the sachet looks like.

Bolso de punto / Knit bag

Este verano, además de tejer cosas para bebés, he tenido tiempo para hacer un proyecto que me hacía mucha ilusión, una versión adaptada de mi bolso favorito de eccomin.

Es un diseño que siempre he querido hacer y como tenía unos ovillos de Phildar Amazone con una calidad muy similar a la del modelo original me pareció que podía quedar bien.

No es la primera vez que uso este hilo para hacer un bolso, ya que es el mismo que utilicé el año pasado para hacer el patrón "French Market Bag" así que parece que estos ovillos estén predestinados a convertirse en accesorios.

Como toque final, para el forro interior del bolso decidí utilizar la tela de una camisa que ya no me pongo pero que tiene un estampado que me encanta. La idea de utilizar la camisa surgió un poco por el Proyecto 333, ya que tras hacer limpieza en mi armario no me decidía a deshacerme de ella y se me ocurrió que podía darle una segunda vida utilizándola en alguno de mis proyectos. 

Aunque mi bolso no es exactamente como el original yo estoy encantada con el resultado y ya se ha convertido en uno de mis favoritos.

This summer, in addition to knitting things for babies, I also had time to make a project I was very excited about, an adapted version of my favorite eccomin bag.

It is a design I have always wanted to make and as I had some  Phildar Amazone skeins which quality is very similar to the one of the original model I though it could come out well.

It is not the first time that I use this yarn to make a bag, as it is the same I used last year to make the "French Market Bag" pattern so it seems like these skeins are predestined to becoming accesories.

As final touch, for the inside lining I decided to use the fabric from a shirt I don't wear anymore but which has a print that I love. The idea of using the shirt kind of arose from Project 333, as after making a wardrobe clean out I couldn't get rid of it and I thought I could give it a second life using it in one of my projects.

Although my bag is not exactly as the original I am very happy with the result and it is already one of my favorites.

Happy (Crafting) Weekend

Se termina agosto y aunque oficialmente todavía quedan algunas semanas de verano resulta inevitable pensar que se acerca el cambio de estación.

No os voy a engañar, aunque el verano me encanta, el otoño es mi estación favorita porque siempre la asocio con la vuelta a la rutina y el comienzo de nuevos proyectos e ideas.

Pero bueno, como ya he dicho todavía queda tiempo para despedir al verano así que seguiremos disfrutando de los días de sol y, en mi caso, terminando las labores pendientes.

August is finished and although officially there are still some summer weeks left it seems inevitable to think that the change of season is close.

I won't fool you, even if I love summer, autumn is my favorite season because I always associate it to coming back to the routine and the beginning of new projects and ideas.

Anyway, as I have already said there's still time to say goodbye to summer so we will continue enjoying summer days and, in my case, finishing pending crafts.

De compras en Nueva York / Shopping in New York - marimekko

Sé que marimekko es una marca finlandesa pero me encantan sus diseños y nunca había tenido la oportunidad de visitar una de sus tiendas así que al verla en la 5ª Avenida, justo enfrente del edificio Flatiron, no pude resistirme a entrar.

La tienda es una auténtica maravilla con todo tipo de productos: ropa, decoración, accesorios, telas... Si conocéis la marca sabréis que la gama de precios es un poco elevada y es cierto que en IKEA hay telas con diseños muy similares pero en mi opinión marimekko tiene mucho encanto y, sin lugar a dudas, merece la pena.

Me enamoré de un par de vestidos, algún bolso y de este abrigo rosa chicle... pero al final no compré nada (un poco por el precio pero también porque no sabía por qué decidirme).

Eso sí, si alguna vez viajo a Finlandia estará en mi lista de visitas obligadas y no va a haber excusa para no comprar algo.

I know that  marimekko is a Finnish brand but I love their designs and I had never had the chance to visit one of their shops so when I saw it at the 5th Avenue, just opposite the Flatiron building, I couldn't resist coming in.

The shop is a true wonder with all kind of products: clothing, home decor, accesories, fabrics... If you know the brand you will know that the price range is a little bit high and it is true that there are fabrics with similar patterns at IKEA but in my opinion  marimekko is really charming and, without a doubt, it is worth it.

I fell in love with a couple of dresses, some bags and this bubble gum pink coat... but in the end I didn't buy anything (a little bit because of the price but also because I didn't know what to choose).

One thing is clear, if I ever travel to Finland it would be on my must-go visits and there will be no excuse to buy something.

Happy (Crafting) Weekend

Últimamente no he tenido mucho tiempo para dedicarle al blog y mis proyectos avanzan poco a poco así que estoy encantada de que ya esté aquí el fin de semana y poder dedicar un poco más de tiempo a mis labores, a curiosear y coger ideas, a escribir entradas nuevas...

¡Espero que disfrutéis mucho y paséis un fin de semana muy creativo!

Lately I didn't have much time to write the blog and my projects progress little by little so I am really happy that the weekend is already here so I can spend more time crafting, glancing and picking ideas, writing new posts...

Adiós, Mayo / Bye bye, May

Llegó el momento de despedir el mes de mayo, mi mes favorito porque ya es casi verano y todo se llena de color otra vez.

Con esta alegría mis proyectos de las últimas semanas no podían ser menos así que he rescatado mis ovillos de algodón para retomar una de mis manualidades favoritas, los amigurumi. He hecho algunas cosas nuevas como la gatita Mia y el conejito que véis en esta pequeña reunión de muñecos de ganchillo pero también he repetido patrón con el osito en globo. 

Además por fin he podido empezar uno de los proyectos del libro de eccomin y he hecho un precioso (y famoso) jersey de bebé que llevaba tiempo en mi lista de espera.

También he buscado inspiración en la Feria de Hogarmania que os proponía en este plan de fin de semana donde pasé un día muy agradable aprendiendo truquitos de cocina, bricolaje y manualidades.

Por último y no menos importante, he celebrado mi cumpleaños y para no faltar a mi tradición del autoregalo he repetido la misma idea del año pasado.

Ahora sí que estoy lista para el cálido mes de junio...


It's time to say goodbye to the month of May, my favorite month because it is almost summer and everything is filled with colour again.

With this joy my projects of the last weeks couldn't be less so I've rescued my cotton balls to take up one of my favorite crafts, amigurumi. I've made some new things as Mia the kitten and the little rabbit you can see in this wee meeting of crochet softies but I have also repeated the pattern of the little bear on a hot air balloon.

In addition I've finally started one of the projects from eccomin's book and I have made a pretty (and famous) baby sweater which had been on my waiting list for long.

I have also looked for inspiration in Hogarmania Fair which I recommended to my Spannish speaking followers in this plan for the weekend where I had a very nice day learning tips about cooking, DIY and crafts.

Last but not least, I have celebrated my birthday and not to lose my tradition of pampering myself I repeated the same idea of last year.

Now I am really ready for the warm month of June...

Cosas que me gustan / Things I like # 31 - Spring Tags by Minki Kim

La costura es una de mis muchas tareas pendientes, me defiendo con lo básico pero me encantaría poder dedicar más tiempo para practicar y hacer muchas de las cosas que veo en Internet.

Uno de mis descubrimientos más recientes son estas originales etiquetas de tela que me parecen monísimas y, a simple vista, no demasiado complicadas de hacer.

La que más me gusta es la del sobre con los corazones porque además utiliza la técnica del freehand embroidery de la que os hablé aquí.

La creadora de estas maravillas es Minki Kim una auténtica artista que comparte sus creaciones en su blog y su cuenta de Instagram .

Si os gustan las cosas bonitas, no os la podéis perder...

Sewing is one of my many pending tasks, I can manage with the basics but I would love to have more time to practise and make many of the things I see on the Internet.

One of my most recent discoveries are these original fabric tags which I find so cute and, at first glance, not too difficult to make.

The one I like the most is the one with the envelope and the hearts because it also uses the freehand embroidery technique which I told you about here.

The maker of these wonders is Minki Kim a true artist who shares her creations in her blog and her Instagram account.

Inspiración / Inspiration - Poppy Treffry

Poppy Treffry es una virtuosa del bordado freehand, técnica que utiliza para crear maravillosos artículos para el hogar, papelería, accesorios...

La descubrí en 2010 y su libro "Free and Easy Stitch Style" fue uno de los primeros libros de manualidades que compré porque me enamoré de sus creaciones y quería aprender a dibujar con la máquina de coser tan bien como ella.

En ese momento hice un par de intentos  (un cuadro con una abejita y margaritas para la hija de una amiga que vive en Finlandia y otro con un cupcake de chocolate para la cocina de otra amiga) y quedé muy contenta con el resultado pero la verdad es que coger la máquina de coser me da más pereza que hacer punto o ganchillo y no he vuelto a poner en práctica mis habilidades de dibujo.

De todas formas yo sigo recopilando retales de tela para cuando pueda dedicarle un poco de tiempo a la máquina de coser y seguir mejorando mi técnica freestyle.

Poppy Treffry is a freehand embroidery master, technique that she uses to create wonderful homeware items, stationery, accesories...

I discovered her in 2010 and her book "Free and Easy Stitch Style" was one of the first craft books I bought because I fell in love with her creations and I wanted to learn to draw with the sewing machine as good as her.

In that moment I made a couple of attempts  (a frame with a little bee and daisies for the daughter of a friend who lives in Finland and another one with a chocolate cupcake for the kitchen of another friend) and I was very happy with the result but the truth is that I am lazier to use the sewing machine than to knit or crochet and I haven't tried again my design skills.

Anyway I keep collecting fabric scraps to use when I have some time for my sewing machine so I can continue improving my freestyle technique.

Será porque la primavera está a la vuelta de la esquina pero la última colección de Amy Butler me parece de los más inspiradora.

Como es habitual, combina el color en todas sus gamas con unos estampados preciosos obteniendo un resultado espectacular.

Sus telas son únicas y las cintas me parecen ideales para crear complementos y personalizar cualquier prenda.

¡Creo que va siendo hora de dar más protagonismo a mi máquina de coser!


It may be because spring is almost here but I find that Amy Butler's latest collection is truly inspiring.

As usual, she combines colour in all ranges with pretty patterns obtaining an amazing result.

Her fabrics are unique and the ribbons are perfect for making accesories and customising any garment.

I think it's time to put my sewing machine in the spotlight!

Me gustan porque tienen un toque de abuelita pero al mismo tiempo son muy actuales.

Los bebés dominan el mundo / Babies rule the world (I)

En los últimos meses la mayoría de las cosas que he hecho han sido para bebés, de ahí el título del post de hoy.

Hacer cosas para los más pequeños tiene muchas ventajas, ya que sea lo que sea se termina rápido y todo les queda bien.

De momento todo lo que he hecho ha sido para regalar, así que siempre intento hacer cosas bonitas y prácticas pero que sean un poco diferentes a lo que se ve en las tiendas.

During the last months most of the things I've done were for babies, which explains the title of today's post.

Making things for the little ones has many advantages, as whatever it is, it's finished quickly and everything looks good on them.

Until now all the things I made were gifts for others, so I always try to make beautiful and practical things a little bit different from the things that can be found on shops.
