Posavasos de fieltro estilo "vintage" / Vintage style felted coasters

 

Después de mis posavasos de fieltro en forma de nube  he seguido experimentando con la técnica del fieltrado y esta vez he hecho unos posavasos con flores de inspiración "vintage".

La idea la cogí del libro "Mollie Makes Crochet" y es un patrón de Ilaria Chiaratti  de Ida Interior Lifestyle  originalmente pensado para una funda de un cojín pero que a mi me pareció perfecto para hacer unos posavasos.

Antes de decidirme por este diseño tenía pensado hacer algo completamente distinto pero creo que la combinación de colores en tonos mostaza queda muy bien con el motivo "sunburst" y le da ese toque de estilo retro que tanto me gusta.

Hasta ahora no me había dado cuenta de todas las posibilidades que ofrece el fieltrado y, aunque podría seguir añadiendo diseños de posavasos hasta el infinito, de momento este va a ser mi último proyecto y me reservo todas las ideas que se me han ido ocurriendo para después del verano.

¿Conseguiré resistir a la tentación de fieltrar más cosas?

After my cloud shaped felt coasters I have continued experimenting with the felting technique and this time I have made some vintage inspired flower coasters.

I took the idea from "Mollie Makes Crochet" book and it is a pattern by Ilaria Chiaratti from Ida Interior Lifestyle originally thought for a cushion cover but it appeared to me that it would be perfect to make some coasters.

Before choosing this design I had thought of making something completely different but I find that the combination of colours in mustard shades matches very well with "sunburst" motif and it adds that retro style touch which I really like.

Until the moment I hadn't realised all the possibilites that felting offers and, although I could keep adding coasters designs to infinity, at the moment this is going to be my last project and I will preserve all the ideas I've been thinking of to make them after this summer.

Will I resist the temptation of felting more things?

Adiós, Noviembre / Bye bye, November

Mi mes de noviembre no ha dado para mucho, la verdad...

Empecé con mucha fuerza y una sección nueva que llevaba mucho tiempo queriendo escribir pero luego aparte de mi viaje a Barcelona y las compras que hice allí no os he contado cosas muy interesantes por aquí.

Por lo menos me queda el consuelo de que mi propuesta de cinco jerséis para tejer en invierno puede servir de inspiración para alguien.

Prometo ser más aplicada en el mes de diciembre y despedir el año con muchas cosas e ideas nuevas.

Que empiece la cuenta atrás...

My month of November was not a great deal, to be honest...

I started very strong with a new section I've been wanting to write for a long time but then apart from my trip to Barcelona and my shopping there I haven't told you many interesting things.

At least I have the relief that my proposal of five sweaters to knit in Winter can serve as inspiration to someone.

I promise to be more diligent during the month of December and to say good bye to this year with many things and new ideas.

Let the countdown begin...

Adiós, Octubre / Bye bye, October

Despido el mes de octubre con el número de invierno de  Pom Pom Quarterly  recién llegado a mi buzón y es que se acerca el invierno, aunque cueste creerlo con los días de sol y calor que nos está regalando el otoño.

Por si acaso yo ya estoy cogiendo ideas para combatir el frío con estos cinco jerséis y para dar un toque más alegre a la ropa de invierno con los originales broches que os proponía en este DIY.

Este mes también he buscado propuestas para los más pequeños para los días de frío: un jersey amarillo que combina con casi todo y un conjunto rosa para las peques más modernas.

Después de esto sólo os puedo decir que recibo el mes de noviembre con ganas de seguir tejiendo sin parar.


I say goodbye to the month of October with the winter issue of  Pom Pom Quarterly which I have just received in my mailbox as Winter is coming, although it seems difficult to believe due to the sunny and hot days Autumn is treating us with.

Just in case I am picking up some ideas to fight off cold weather with these five sweaters and to add a brighter touch to Winter clothes with the original brooches I suggested you in this DIY.

This month I have also looked for proposals for the little ones to wear on cold days: a yellow sweater which matches almost with everything and a pink outfit for cool baby girls.

After this I can only say to you that I am welcoming the month of November in the mood of even more non stop knitting.

Adiós, Septiembre / Bye bye, September

Ha llegado el momento de despedir el mes de septiembre.

Ha sido un mes de cambio y de vuelta a la rutina tras el verano, para mí el momento perfecto para plantearme un nuevo propósito. 

Siguiendo este espíritu de vuelta al cole, poco a poco he ido retomando el blog y os he enseñado un nuevo amigurumi y un conjunto de bebé que hice durante el verano.

Por último, como buena tejedora he celebrado la llegada del otoño planificando dentro de lo posible mis proyectos futuros.

Espero que octubre sea un buen mes para poner en práctica mis buenas intenciones...


It's time to say goodbye to the month of September.

It's been a month of change and of coming back to routine after summer, for me the perfect moment to set myself a new resolution.

Following this back to school spirit, little by little I have gradually restarted the blog and I showed you a new amigurumi and a baby outfit that I made during the summer.

Lately, as a good knitter I have celebrated the arrival of autumn planning as much as possible my future projects.

I hope that October is a good month to put into into practice my good intentions...

Adiós, Agosto / Bye bye, August

Siempre tengo la impresión de que los meses de verano pasan más rápido y este año me ha vuelto a pasar, el mes agosto ha volado y casi ni me he enterado.

Así que... entre una cosa y otra este mes sólo he tenido tiempo de enseñaros este conjunto de bebé de ganchillo y uno de los últimos proyectos que he empezado.

Ahora toca empezar con fuerza el mes de septiembre que tampoco está tan mal, ¡no hay motivo para estar triste!

I always feel like summer months pass quicker and this year it has happenned again, the month of August has flown by and I haven't even realised.

So... what with one thing and another I have only had time to show you this crochet baby outfit and one of the last projects I have started.

Now it is time to start freshly the month of September which is not that bad either, there's no reason to be sad!

Adiós, Julio / Bye bye, July

El mes pasado os contaba que junio se me había pasado volando pero es que julio... ¡casi ni lo he visto!

En las últimas semanas he estado ocupada con varias cosas pero sólo he podido enseñaros el regalo de bienvenida que hice para el pequeño Noah y el último proyecto que he empezado y que todavía siguen mis agujas...

Aparte de eso sólo he añadido una original funda de libros a la larga lista de cosas que me gustan.

Espero que el mes de agosto no se me pase tan rápido y me cunda un poquito más...

Last month I told you that June had flown for me but July... I haven't almost seen it!

During the last weeks I've been busy with several things but I've only been able to show you the welcome gift I made for little Noah and the last project I have started and which is still on my needles...

Apart from that I have only added an original book cover to the long list of the things I like.

I hope that the month of august won't pass so quickly and that I can make the most of it...

Adiós, Junio / Bye bye, June

Toca despedir el mes de junio y me parece que fue ayer cuando celebré su llegada, está claro que en verano el tiempo pasa más deprisa.

Este mes sólo os he enseñado dos proyectos terminados (las zapatillas Converse en versión mini y el bolsito de triángulos del libro de eccomin) pero para compensar he estrenado la sección "Cómo llevarlo" y mi primera propuesta han sido tres formas de combinar el sombrero de de estilo étnico que hice el año pasado.

Por último, también he disfrutado de mis vacaciones con un viaje a Cádiz que todavía me hace soñar con playas maravillosas y ambiente de verano.

It's time to say goodbye to the month of June and it seems to me that it was yesterday when I celebrated its arrival, it is clear that in summer time goes faster.

This month I have only showed you two finished projects (the mini Converse sneakers and the triangles pouch from eccomin's book) but as compensation I've started the new section "How to wear it" where my first suggestion was three different ways of mixing the ethnic style hat that I made last year.

Last, I have also enjoyed my holidays with a trip to Cadiz (in the south of Spain) which still keeps me daydreaming about wonderful beaches and summer atmosphere.

Adiós, Mayo / Bye bye, May

Llegó el momento de despedir el mes de mayo, mi mes favorito porque ya es casi verano y todo se llena de color otra vez.

Con esta alegría mis proyectos de las últimas semanas no podían ser menos así que he rescatado mis ovillos de algodón para retomar una de mis manualidades favoritas, los amigurumi. He hecho algunas cosas nuevas como la gatita Mia y el conejito que véis en esta pequeña reunión de muñecos de ganchillo pero también he repetido patrón con el osito en globo. 

Además por fin he podido empezar uno de los proyectos del libro de eccomin y he hecho un precioso (y famoso) jersey de bebé que llevaba tiempo en mi lista de espera.

También he buscado inspiración en la Feria de Hogarmania que os proponía en este plan de fin de semana donde pasé un día muy agradable aprendiendo truquitos de cocina, bricolaje y manualidades.

Por último y no menos importante, he celebrado mi cumpleaños y para no faltar a mi tradición del autoregalo he repetido la misma idea del año pasado.

Ahora sí que estoy lista para el cálido mes de junio...


It's time to say goodbye to the month of May, my favorite month because it is almost summer and everything is filled with colour again.

With this joy my projects of the last weeks couldn't be less so I've rescued my cotton balls to take up one of my favorite crafts, amigurumi. I've made some new things as Mia the kitten and the little rabbit you can see in this wee meeting of crochet softies but I have also repeated the pattern of the little bear on a hot air balloon.

In addition I've finally started one of the projects from eccomin's book and I have made a pretty (and famous) baby sweater which had been on my waiting list for long.

I have also looked for inspiration in Hogarmania Fair which I recommended to my Spannish speaking followers in this plan for the weekend where I had a very nice day learning tips about cooking, DIY and crafts.

Last but not least, I have celebrated my birthday and not to lose my tradition of pampering myself I repeated the same idea of last year.

Now I am really ready for the warm month of June...

Adiós, Abril / Bye bye, April

Este mes de abril ha sido el mes de las nubes y la lluvia y me ha servido para despedirme definitivamente del invierno con el conjunto de gorro y cuello Illume, una bonita bufanda de ganchillo y mi colorida "Blue Bell Hill Scarf".

Además, me he olvidado de los ovillos y de las agujas de tejer por un momento con mis propósitos de retomar la costura y de practicar una técnica nueva, el bordado con aguja mágica con la ayuda del maravilloso libro de Laura Ameba.

Por último, he inaugurado una nueva sección en el blog dedicada a planes interesantes para el fin de semana en la que "La Ruta de los Duendes" ha sido mi primera propuesta.

Estoy deseando que comience el mes de mayo y poder sentir que, de verdad, es primavera.

This month of April has been the month of the clouds and the rain and it allowed me to finally say goodbye to winter with the  Illume hat and cowl set, a pretty crochet scarf and my colourful "Blue Bell Hill Scarf".

In addition, I have forgotten the skeins and knitting needles for a while with my resolutions of starting to sew again and of practising a new technique, punch needle embroidery with the help of the wonderful book of Laura Ameba.

Last, I have started a new blog section about interesting plans for the weekend where "La Ruta de los Duendes" (the Route of the Elves) was my first suggestion.

I am looking forward to the beginning of the month of May and to be able to feel that it, really, is spring.

Adiós, Marzo / Bye bye, March

Mi mes de marzo ha estado marcado por la llegada de ovillos multicolores e ideas nuevas que pronto se transformarán en proyectos de primavera.

También ha habido hueco para algunos proyectos invernales: nuevas versiones de los gorritos Illume y Chai y un cuello de lana con patrón gratuito de regalo.

Además, no han faltado ideas para para hacer en Pascua y mi tradicional decoración acorde con la época que este año ha consistido en unos coloridos conejitos de Pascua de adorno.

¡Me encanta cómo la primavera lo inunda todo de color!

My month of March has been characterised by the arrival of multicouloured skeins and new ideas that will soon transform into spring projects.

There has also been space for some winter projects: new versions of Illume and Chai hats and a wool cowl which included a free pattern as a gift.

In addition, I couldn't miss some ideas to make at Easter and my traditional decoration according to the season which this year consisted of some embellishments of coloured Easter bunnies.

I love how spring floods everything with colour!

Adiós, Enero / Bye bye, January

El mes de enero ha resultado bastante productivo, aunque todavía no haya tenido tiempo de enseñaros muchas cosas por aquí.

He tejido proyectos nuevos y he repetido algunos que ya había realizado como el maravilloso gorro Take Heart de Fiona Alice que ya os enseñé aquí.

Además he avanzado en mi objetivo de reducir stash, así que no me puedo quejar.

Estoy deseando que veáis mis proyectos terminados, a ver si os gustan...

The month of January has been quite productive, although I didn't have time to show you many things here.

I have knitted new projects and repeated some that I had already done like the wonderful Take Heart hat by Fiona Alice that I showed you here.

In addition I have made some progresses in my goal of reducing stash, so I can't complain.

I am looking forward for you to seeing my finished projects, let's see if you like them...

De compras en Edimburgo / Shopping in Edinburgh - Craft Magazines

Cuando estuve en Edimburgo no compré muchas cosas (viajar sólo con equipaje de mano puede ser un incoveniente a veces...) pero algo sin lo que no podía venirme eran revistas de manualidades.

En mi lista estaba por lo menos un ejemplar de Prima Makes (una de mis revistas favoritas desde que la descubrí en un viaje a Malta) pero por desgracia no la encontré en ninguna tienda. Espero que fuera por un problema de fecha de publicación y no hayan dejado de hacerla porque para mí es una de las compras obligadas siempre que piso un aeropuerto o un país de habla inglesa.

Sin embargo esta pequeña desilusión me duró poco porque sí encontré el último número de Mollie Makes (otra de mis revistas favoritas y habitual en mis compras en el extranjero) y Simply Crochet que hasta el momento no había comprado nunca.

Como es habitual la revista Mollie Makes propone un montón de proyectos de estilos diferentes (fieltro, ganchillo, costura, papel...) y artículos que nos animan a vivir la vida de una forma más creativa.

Además incluía con dos regalos que me van a venir muy bien en 2016: un calendario con 12 proyectos de manualidades diseñados por Emily Quinton y un juego de pegatinas caligrafiadas de Lamplighter London para marcar los momentos especiales.

En el caso de Simply Crochet, tal y como su nombre indica, la revista se centra únicamente en proyectos de ganchilllo aunque propone ideas de todo tipo: decoración, accesorios, amigurumi, prendas de vestir...

Esta revista también incluía un regalo, cinta para para personalizar y etiquetar los proyectos de ganchillo, una idea que no puede gustarme más.

En ambos casos también hay un montón de ideas con temática navideña pero, tal y como me pasó el año pasado con las revistas que compré en Londres, no he tenido mucho tiempo para ponerlas en práctica.

Supongo que la parte buena es que siempre me pueden servir de inspiración para el año que viene...


When I went to Edinburgh I didn't buy too many things (travelling only with hand luggage can be a disadvantage  sometimes...) but something I couldn't come back without were craft magazines.

On my list I had included at least one issue of Prima Makes (one of my favorite magazines since I discovered it on a trip to Malta) but unfortunately I didn't find it anywhere. I hope it was a problem of publishing date and that they haven't stop making it as for me it is a compulsory purchase whenever I step into an English speaking airport or country.

However this small disappointment didn't last for too long because I did find the last issue of Mollie Makes (another one of my favorite magazines and also a regular purchase when I am abroad) and  Simply Crochet which until the moment I had never bought before.

As usual Mollie Makes magazine proposes a lot of projects of different styles (felt, crochet, sewing, paper...) and some articles that encourage us to live our life in a more creative way.

In addition it included two gifts that I find very useful for 2016: a calendar with 12 craft projects designed by Emily Quinton and a set of calligraphy stickers by Lamplighter London to mark special moments.

In the case of Simply Crochet, as its name shows, the magazine is only focused on crochet projects although it propose all kind of ideas: home decor, accesories, amigurumi, clothes...

This magazine also included a gift, some ribbon to customise and label crochet projects,  I can't like this  idea enough.

In both cases there are also a lot of Christmas inspired ideas but, just as what happened last year with the magazines I bought in London, I didn't have enough time to put them into practice.

I guess that the good side is that I can always use them for inspiration next year...

Happy (Crafting) Weekend

Mi cuñada y mi hermano me conocen muy bien y me han traído algunas revistas de manualidades de su último viaje a Londres.

Lo que yo no sabía es que en el Reino Unido se pueden solicitar número atrasados de revistas, así que además de las ediciones de febrero de Mollie Makes y Prima Makes, me han conseguido también dos números atrasados de Prima Makes con lo que ya tengo todos los ediciones publicadas hasta ahora.

¡Me espera un finde con mucha lectura creativa!

My sister in law and my brother know me very well and they have brought some crafts magazines from their last trip to London.

Something I didn't know was that in UK you can order past issues of magazines, so in addition to February issues of  Mollie Makes and  Prima Makes they also got for me two past issues from Prima Makes so I already have all the numbers published so far.

I am going to spend a weekend with a lot of creative reading!

De compras en Londres / Shopping in London: Craft Magazines

Algo que no podía faltar en mis compras del viaje a Londres son las revistas de manualidades, que tenían reservado un hueco en mi maleta desde que planifiqué el viaje.

La primera en mi lista era Prima Makes (mi gran descubrimiento de este verano del que os hablé aquí), así que fui directa a por ella y de paso descubrí una revista nueva, 101 Quick and Easy Crochet Makes que pertenece al mismo grupo editorial que Mollie Makes.

Los dos números son especiales navideños, así que me han venido genial para ir cogiendo ideas porque la Navidad está a la vuelta de la esquina.

Seguramente mi primer proyecto navideño serán los muñecos de gengibre de fieltro que venían de regalo con  Prima Makes, aunque también hay otras ideas que me gustan y que espero tener tiempo para hacer.

Something that couldn't miss among my shopping from the London trip were craft magazines, which had a place reserved in my suitcase since I planned the trip.

The first on my list was  Prima Makes (my great find from this summer which I told you about here), so I went directly for it and at the same time I discovered a new magazine, 101 Quick and Easy Crochet Makes which belongs to the same publishing group as  Mollie Makes.

The two issues are Christmas specials, so they suit me perfectly to pick some ideas as Christmas is just around the corner.

Probably my first Christmas project will be the felt gingerbread men that came as a gift with  Prima Makes , although there are other ideas that I like and that I hope to have time to make.

Pues bien, ese entretenimiento infantil ahora es una tendencia de moda que pega con fuerza especialmente ahora que estamos en verano y es cuando mejor se pueden lucir las pulseras.
