Bienvenido Invierno / Welcome Winter

Soy muy friolera así que no es que me haga especial ilusión celebrar la llegada oficial del invierno pero la verdad es que desde que tejo mis inviernos son más entretenidos y ya no me importa tanto que haga frío (sobre todo si tengo algún gorro o bufanda de lana que estrenar).

Por si acaso ya he rescatado algunas de las prendas que tejí el año pasado y este invierno espero añadir algunas más a la colección.

I am very very sensitive to cold so I don't feel especially excited about celebrating the official arrival of Winter but the truth is that since I started knitting my winters are more entertaining and I don't mind that much if it is cold (specially if I have a new wool hat or scarf to wear).

Just in case I have already rescued some of the garments I knitted last year and this Winter I hope to add some more ones to my collection.

Mis DIY favoritos / My favorite DYIs # 22 - Adornos de ganchillo / Crochet ornaments

Todos los años me propongo decorar mi casa con adornos de Navidad hechos por mí pero, a excepción de este Gingerbread man, siempre me pasa lo mismo... no encuentro tiempo para hacerlos.

Aún así, me sigue gustando buscar ideas nuevas y esta misma semana he descubierto unos adornos de ganchillo diseñados por Pica-Pau que, sin ser tradicionalmente navideños, son perfectos para decorar cualquier rincón de la casa en estas fechas (o el resto del año).

Para no romper la tradición, este año también llego tarde así que mi decoración tendrá muy poco de handmade  pero la idea me la guardo porque me encanta.

¿Alguien más sueña con decorar su casa con sus propias creaciones?

P.D: Por si (todavía) no conocéis el blog de Pica-Pau os adelanto que os vais a encontrar con unos muñecos de amigurumi tan ideales que vais a querer hacerlos todos ♥


Every year I propose myself to decorate my house with self made Christmas ornaments but, except from this Gingerbread man, it always ends up the same way... I don't have time to make them.

Even then, I still love looking for new ideas and this very week I've discovered some crochet ornaments designed by  Pica-Pau which, despite not representing traditional Christmas, are perfect to decorate any corner of the house during this season (or the rest of the year).

Just not to break with tradition, this year I am also late so my decoration will be very little handmade but I am writing down the idea because I love it.

Anyone else dreams with decorating the house with self made creations?

Perpendicular

Esta primavera empecé a tejer el patrón Perpendicular  de Pom Pom Quarterly  y, aunque lo terminé en mayo, hasta ahora no he tenido tiempo de bloquearlo y hacer unas fotos en condiciones.

A simple vista, el diseño es muy sencillo pero cuando lo vi en la portada me encantó y me pareció que en amarillo quedaría perfecto (¡cómo no!).

Para tejerlo escogí DROPS Cotton Merino porque me gustó mucho cuando la utilicé para tejer el jersey Sous Sous y creo que fue todo un cierto porque el acabado es perfecto.

La parte buena es que, a pesar de haber tardado una eternidad en tenerlo listo,  estos días de frío me va a venir muy bien y me va a ayudar a dar un poco de color al invierno.

Last Spring I started knitting  Perpendicular pattern from  Pom Pom Quarterly and, although I finished it in May, until now I didn't have time to block it and to take some pictures properly.

At first glance, the design is quite simple but I loved it when I saw it on the cover and I thought that in yellow it would look perfect (of course!).

To knit it I chose  DROPS Cotton Merino because I liked it a lot when I used it to knit  Sous Sous sweater and I think it was a wise choice as the finishing is perfect.

The good is thing is that, despite taking me an eternity to have it ready, I will make good use of it these cold days and it will help me to add a touch of colour to Winter.

Cómo llevarlo: Cuello de lana rosa / How to wear it: Pink wool cowl

Uno de mis últimos proyectos del invierno pasado fue un cuello de lana rosa que compartí en este patrón gratuito y como en las últimas semanas está recibiendo muchas visitas se me ha ocurrido que era un buen candidato para la sección "Cómo llevarlo".

Para combinarlo he buscado tres opciones muy prácticas y cómodas pero en realidad un cuello de punto es una prenda muy versátil así que podría llevarse con cualquier cosa.

One of my latest projects from last winter was a pink wool cowl which I shared in this free pattern and as during the last weeks it has received many visits I thought it would be a good candidate for "How to wear it" section.

In order to combine it I have searched three options which are very practical and comfortable but in fact a knitted cowl is a very versatile garment so it can be worn with almost anything.

I hope you will like my selection...
