Even though I've been quite busy this summer I have found some time to make a knitted cardigan for my niece.

I followed a Phildar  pattern that in their catalogue matches this little dress I made for her last year, although looking at each garment separately and in different sizes it seems like they have nothing in common one with another.

The cotton I used to knit the cardigan is  DROPS Safran in rust red and I love it because it has a beautiful shade and it is really fetching.

My niece looks very pretty with the cardigan although she grows so quickly that the things I make for her only last a couple of months...

Happy (Crafting) Weekend

This past week I received  Pom Pom Quarterly autumn issue and it couldn't arrive on a better moment, now that in the North of Spain the temperature has cooled down and the sky is full of grey clouds.

I love summer but I can't deny that I miss (a little) under the blanket, tea and bulky wool skeins afternoons...

There's still some time left until cold weather arrives but I think this weekend I will enjoy a lot reading and getting inspired by  The Wool Issue proposals.

Poppy Treffry is a freehand embroidery master, technique that she uses to create wonderful homeware items, stationery, accesories...

I discovered her in 2010 and her book "Free and Easy Stitch Style" was one of the first craft books I bought because I fell in love with her creations and I wanted to learn to draw with the sewing machine as good as her.

In that moment I made a couple of attempts  (a frame with a little bee and daisies for the daughter of a friend who lives in Finland and another one with a chocolate cupcake for the kitchen of another friend) and I was very happy with the result but the truth is that I am lazier to use the sewing machine than to knit or crochet and I haven't tried again my design skills.

Anyway I keep collecting fabric scraps to use when I have some time for my sewing machine so I can continue improving my freestyle technique.

I am sure that ENSIDIG vase is one of  IKEA's bestsellers and that it has been the main attraction of many parties as vintage style milk bottle (in fact it seems to be sold out in Spain as it no longer appears on their website).

Luckily I bought three of them bottles in its day and, even if to date I am still not sure what to do with them, I love their design and I don't miss the opportunity to experiment with them.

My first test has been a romantic inspired crochet cover to decorate the milk bottle, something very simple but which adds a special touch.

If you like the result you can find all the information with the instructions and necessary materials below the pictures.

INSTRUCCIONES

Hilo: Algodón mercerizado nº 5

Pasos:
