Happy (Crafting) Weekend

Todos los días intento tener un momento para mis labores, pero el fin de semana es cuando más lo disfruto porque puedo estar a gusto en el sofá disfrutando de un té y avanzando en alguno de los proyectos que tengo entre manos sin preocuparme de lo tarde que es y de que el día siguiente tengo que madrugar.

A veces no dedico mucho tiempo pero, por poco que sea, es como una especie de terapia que me relaja.

Espero que paséis un buen fin de semana...

I try to have a moment for my crafts everyday, but during the weekend is when I enjoy it the most as I can be cosy on the couch enjoying a cup of tea and progressing in any of the projects I am making without worrying by the fact that it is very late and I have to wake up early the following day.

Sometimes I don't expend too much time but, as little as it is, it is like some kind of therapy that relaxes me.

The Crafter's Home # 4 - Cinq Mai

Detrás de "Cinq Mai" encontramos a Caroline Briel, una fotógrafa y diseñadora que realiza postales y artículos de papelería que son una maravilla. También es la autora de las fotografías que aparecen en el famoso libro de amigurumi "Tendre Crochet" de Tournicote.

Su casa está en Francia en la región Auvernia-Ródano-Alpes y se caracteriza por una mezcla de estilos entre rústico y bohemio donde predominan los tonos pastel, resultando en una decoración muy armoniosa y acogedora. Resulta obvio que en ella vive una persona muy creativa con un gusto muy delicado por las cosas bonitas.

Personalmente es un estilo que me gusta mucho y me encantaría recorrer toda la casa pero, sin duda alguna, mi estancia favorita es el estudio donde pueden verse los materiales y las creaciones de Caroline en perfecto orden.

Behind "Cinq Mai" we can find Caroline Briel, a photographer and designer who makes wonderful postcards and stationery items. She is also the author of the photographies that appear in the famous amigurumi book "Tendre Crochet" by  Tournicote.

Her house is in France in the Auvergne-Rhône-Alpes region and it is characterised by a mix between rustic and bohemian styles where pastel colours predominate, resulting in a very balanced and cosy decoration. It seems clear that a very creative person with a very delicate taste for beautiful things lives in it.

It is an style that I personally like a lot and I would love to go all over the house but, whithout any doubt, my favorite room is the studio where you can see Caroline's materials and creations in perfect order.

Knit Super Teddy

Uno de los primeros proyectos que hice cuando empecé a tejer fue un osito panda pirata de punto y desde entonces siempre que he hecho algún muñeco ha sido en amigurumi, hasta que el verano pasado me pidieron hacer un osito superhéroe para una niña.

Al principio pensé que me iba a costar encontrar un patrón pero Ravelry  es un mundo mágico en el que siempre encuentras lo que buscas y, para mi alegría, apareció el patrón Knit Super Teddy  de Lorraine Pistorio.

Me sorprendió que el patrón fuera en punto en lugar de ganchillo pero la verdad es que no hay mucha diferencia entre hacerlo de una manera o de otra por lo que no hay motivo para asustarse.

¿Alguien más se ha atrevido con los muñecos de punto?


One of the first projects I made when I started knitting was a knitted pirate panda bear and since then any time I've made a puppet it was in  amigurumi, until last summer I was asked to make a superheroe bear for a baby girl.

At first I thought it was going to be difficult to find a pattern but  Ravelry is a magic world where you always find what you search and, to my joy, Knit Super Teddy pattern by  Lorraine Pistorio appeared.

I was surprised that it was a knitting pattern instead of a crochet one but at the end there's not much difference between making it one way or the other so there's no reason to be scared.

Anyone else has tried knitted puppets?

Mis DIY favoritos / My favorite DIYs # 26 - Broches Tricot L'Atelier d'Archibald

Hace algún tiempo encontré este DIY de L'Atelier d'Archibald  para hacer unos broches de punto y como soy muy fan de los complementos me pareció una idea genial para aportar un toque personal a la ropa.

Todavía no he tejido ninguno pero mi favorito desde el principio es el broche con forma de manzana que me parece una auténtica monada así que tarde o temprano tendré una manzanita  de punto adornando mis jerséis y camisas.

¿Cuál es vuestro favorito?


Some time ago I found this DIY by  L'Atelier d'Archibald to make knitted brooches and as I am a great fan of accesories I thought it was a great idea to add a personal touch to clothes.

I still haven't knitted any of  them but my favorite since the beginning is the apple shaped brooch which I find really cute so sooner or later I will have a knitted little apple decorating my sweaters and shirts.
