En proceso... / Work in progress...

Hace cuatro años, descubrí por casualidad pom pom quarterly y me enamoré del jersey que aparecía en la portada su número de invierno de 2013.

Fue un auténtico flechazo y, además de la revista, enseguida compré los ovillos necesarios para tejerlo pero año tras año lo he ido postponiendo hasta que este otoño por fin he empezado a tejer el jersey Garland  de Stefanie Pollmeier  con el que tanto he soñado.

Después de tanto tiempo en mi lista de proyectos por hacer lo he cogido con muchas ganas y, aunque también vaya haciendo otros proyectos más cortos al mismo tiempo, sigo avanzando poco a poco y me encanta porque tejer con mohair es una maravilla.

Four years ago, by chance I discovered  pom pom quarterly and I fell in love with the sweater that appeared in the cover of their winter issue of 2013.

It really was love at first sight and, besides the magazine, I inmediately bought the necessary skeins to knit it but year after year I've been postponing it until this Autumn I finally started knitting  Garland sweater by  Stefanie Pollmeir which I have dreamed so much of.

After so much time on my projects to-do list I have started with enthusiasm and, although I will be also making some shorter projects at the same time, I keep progressing little by little and I love it because knitting  wiht mohair is so wonderful.

I will keep you informed with my progresses...

Cosas que me gustan / Things I like # 40 - "Keep in Touch" mittens

A finales de agosto descubrí el patrón de las manoplas "Keep in Touch"  de DROPS Design  y me pareció un proyecto perfecto para hacer en invierno y este es un buen momento para recuperar la idea.

Nunca he tejido unas manoplas pero creo que este patrón podría ser un buen comienzo porque parece fácil y rápido de hacer y me va a ayudar a reducir mi "stash".

¿No os parece que dejar un agujero para sacar los dedos es muy ingenioso?

At the end of August I discovered  "Keep in Touch" mittens pattern by DROPS Design and I thought it was a perfect project to make in Winter and this is a good moment to get back to this idea.

I have never knitted mittens before but I think that this pattern could be a good start as it seems easy and quick to make and it will help me reducing my stash.

Don't you find that leaving a hole to pull out the fingers is very clever?

De compras en Berlín / Shopping in Berlin - Knit Knit Berlin

En mi entrada sobre mi viaje a Berlín ya os adelanté que es una ciudad con muchas tiendas de lana así que en las próximas semanas os iré contando las que visité.

Para empezar, os voy a hablar de Knit Knit Berlin   una tienda de lanas preciosa que se encuentra en la zona de Berlin Mitte que, casualmente, era la misma zona en la que estaba mi hotel.

Desde que planifiqué el viaje tenía muy claro que era uno de los sitios a visitar ya que hace tiempo que sigo su cuenta de Instagram  desde hace tiempo y me encanta porque su estilo encaja muy bien con las cosas que me gustan.

La tienda no es muy grande pero tienen mucha variedad de lanas en colores preciosos, aunque a mí los que más me llamaron la atención fueron unos ovillos de tweed  de Lana Grossa Lala Berlin  que acabé comprando junto con una bolsa de tela de Knit Knit Berlin  para llevar las labores.

Los ovillos me encantaron por el contraste entre el beige y los toques de color pero también me parecieron el souvenir perfecto al llamarse "Lala Berlin" y, gracias a Internet, ahora sé que es una marca de moda muy famosa en Alemania que también produce lanas de muy buena calidad.

Mi idea es hacer un cuello de lana con ellos porque es una lana tan bonita que quiero hacer algo que pueda usar mucho aunque todavía tengo que acabar un par de cosas antes de empezar a tejer con ellos.

Muy pronto os seguirá hablando de más tiendas de lanas en Berlín...


On my post about my trip to Berlin I already told you that it is a city with many yarn shops so in the following weeks I will be telling you about the ones I visited.

To begin with, I am going to talk about  Knit Knit Berlin a really nice yarn shop which is located in Berlin Mitte area which, by chance, was the same area where my hotel was.

Since I planned the trip I was very sure it was one of the places I had to visit as I've been following their Instagram account for a while and I love it because their style fits really well with the things I like.

The shop is not very big but they have a wide variety of yarn in beautiful colours, although what really caught my attention were some  Lana Grossa Lala Berlin tweed skeins that I bought together with a  Knit Knit Berlin project bag in fabric.

I loved the skeins because of the contrast between beige and different colour shades but also I thought they were the perfect souvenir as their name was "Lala Berlin" and, thanks to the Internet, now I know that is a very famous fashion brand in Germany which also produces high quality yarns.

My idea is to make a wool cowl with them because it is such a beautiful yarn that I want to make something I can  use very often although I still have to finish a couple of things before starting to knit with them.

Happy (Crafting) Weekend

Todavía no he terminado ninguno de los proyectos que he empezado este otoño pero en mi cabeza no dejo de pensar en nuevas ideas en las que utilizar algunos de los ovillos que tengo en mi stash  desde hace tiempo.

A veces me resulta complicado porque quiero hacer algo especial con ellos así que estoy continuamente buscando el proyecto perfecto.

Estos ovillos amarillos se vinieron conmigo de Barcelona hace ya dos años y, aunque desde el principio tuve claro que quería hacer un chal con ellos, todavía no me he decidido por ningún patrón en concreto.

Seguiré buscando hasta que me llegue la inspiración...

I still haven't finished any of the projects I've started this autumn but in my mind I can't stop thinking of new ideas so I can use some of the skeins I have in my stash long ago.

Sometimes I find it difficult as I want to make something special with them so I am continuously looking for the perfect project.

These yellow balls came with me from Barcelona already two years ago and, even if since the beginning I was sure I wanted to make a shawl with them, I haven't decided on any specific pattern yet.

I will continue searching until I get inspired...
