Adiós, 2018 / Goodbye, 2018

Normalmente el último día del el año suelo recordar las cosas que he hecho a lo largo del año pero me he dado cuenta de que es más interesante pensar en los proyectos que están por llegar, así que he hecho una pequeña lista de buenos propósitos con las cosas que me gustaría hacer el año que viene:

• Terminar de tejer mi jersey "Garland"
• Hacer un cuello de lana con los ovillos que compré en Berlín
• Tejer el patrón "Sunday Sweater"  de PetiteKnit
• Seguir viajando y descubriendo tiendas de lana bonitas
• Reducir mi "stash"

Creo que son unos objetivos bastante realistas así que espero poder cumplirlos todos fácilmente.

Usually the last day of the year I use to remind the things I have done along the year but I have realised that it is more interesting to think in the projects that are to come, so I have made a small list of resolutions with the things that I would like to make next year:

• To finish knitting my  "Garland" sweater
• To make a wool cowl with the yarn I bought in Berlin
• To knit the  "Sunday Sweater" pattern by  PetiteKnit 
• To continue traveling and discovering pretty yarn shops
• To reduce my stash

I think these goals are quite realistic so I hope to achieve all of them easily.

Hace tiempo que soy fan de Pica-pau  y aunque hace ya unos cuantos meses que me compré su libro "La Banda de Pica Pau"  hasta ahora no había tenido tiempo de hacer ninguno de sus famosos amigurumi.

Ahora tengo una excusa muy buena para hacer uno de sus diseños y aunque me ha costado un poco decidirme qué animal hacer (obviamente quiero hacerlos todos...), me hace mucha ilusión pensar que seguramente este amigurumi  será el primer proyecto que termine el año que viene.

De momento os dejo con la intriga, pero espero poder enseñaros el resultado muy pronto...

I've been fan of  Pica-pau for a while and although I bought her book "Animal friends of Pica Pau" some months ago until now I didn't have time to make any of her famous  amigurumi.

Now I have a very good excuse to make one of her designs and although it took me quite a while to decide which animal to make (obviously I want to make them all...), I am very happy to think that this  amigurumi will probably be the first project that I finish next year.

By the moment I will keep you in suspense, but I hope to be able to show you the result very soon...

Happy (Christmas) Weekend

Desde que empezó el mes de diciembre cuando preparé mi calendario de adviento no he dejado de pensar en la Navidad  y, aunque parecía algo lejano, ya ha llegado el momento de celebrarlo.

Espero que paséis unos momentos muy felices con la gente que queréis.

Since the beginning of the month of December when I prepared my advent calendar I haven't stopped thinking about Christmas and, although it seemed something distant, the moment to celebrate has already arrived.

De compras en Berlin / Shopping in Berlin - Fadeninsel

Esta semana cierro el ciclo de mi ruta lanera por Berlín con Fadeninsel  una tienda de lanas que se encuentra en el barrio de Kreuzberg, uno de los más pintorescos de la ciudad.

En este caso se trata de una tienda que me recordó a las mercerías tradicionales con una gran variedad de ovillos, libros y complementos, así como algunos productos de punto ya terminados como  gorros, bufandas y chales hechos a mano.

La verdad es que ante tanta variedad me costó elegir qué llevarme y al final opté por unos ovillos de "Gomitolo Merino"  de Lana Grossa  que me llamaron mucho la atención por su colorido (mi idea es hacer un gorro con ellos, pero todavía no tengo pensado ningún patrón en concreto).

Y... hasta aquí llega mi aventura por las tiendas de lana de Berlín, aunque en realidad hay muchas más que espero poder visitar algún día.


This week I am closing the cycle about my yarn route around Berlin with Fadeninsel, a yarn shop which is located in  Kreuzberg district, one of the most picturesques of the city.

In this case it is a shop that reminded me of traditional haberdashery shops with a great variety of yarns, books and accesories, as well as some finished knit garments such as handmade hats, scarves and shawls.

Honestly, with so much variety it was difficult to choose what to buy and I finally got some "Gomitolo Merino" skeins by Lana Grossa that really caught my attention with their bright colours (my idea is to make a hat with them, but I haven't thought about any particular pattern yet).

And... that's all about my adventure in Berlin yarn shops, although actually there are many more that I hope to visit some day.
