Mis DIY favoritos / My favorite DIYs # 15 - Crochet Watermelon Coasters

La sandía siempre ha sido una de mis frutas favoritas porque es refrescante y, sobre todo, porque es sinónimo de verano.

Por eso os propongo un DIY muy fácil y divertido para este verano: unos posavasos de ganchillo con forma de sandía.

La idea es de Marie LeBaron de make and takes y me encantó nada más verla (podéis encontrar el patrón aquí).

Para hacer los posavasos he utilizado un ganchillo del número 4 e hilo DMC Natura en doble hebra para que me quedaran un poquito más gorditos y mullidos.

No he podido evitar estrenarlos con un zumo de sandía y melón bien fresquito...

Watermelon has always been one of my favorite fruits because it is refreshing and, especially, because it is a synonym for summer.

That's why I am proposing you a very easy and fun DIY for this summer: crochet watermelon coasters.

It's an idea by Marie LeBaron from makes and takes and I loved it as soon as I saw it (you can find the pattern here).

To make the coasters I used a crochet hook number 4 and DMC Natura in double thread so it results a little bit thicker and fluffly.

I couldn't resist to use them with a refreshing watermelon and melon juice...

Craft Books ♥ 4 - What to Knit When you are Expecting

Normalmente os hablo de libros que ya he comprado, pero curioseando en Ravelry he descubierto el libro "Qué se puede tejer cuando se está esperando" de Nikki Van De Car  y me han gustado tanto los proyectos que incluye que tenía que compartirlo.

El libro está lleno de ideas preciosas para hacer ropa de bebé y muchos accesorios (mantitas, gorros, manoplas...).

Mi proyecto preferido es, sin duda, el pequeño tutú rosa, creo que compraría el libro sólo por él...

Viendo cosas tan bonitas me dan ganas de pasarme todo el día tejiendo.


Usually I talk about books I have already bought, but browsing in Ravelry I found the book "What to knit when you are expecting"  by Nikki Van De Car and I liked the projects that much that I had to share it.

The book is full of pretty ideas to make baby clothes and lots of accesories (baby blankets, cushions, mittens...).

My favorite project  is, without a doubt, the little pink tutu, I think I would buy the book just to have it...

When I see such pretty things I just want to knit all day long.

Happy (Crafting) Weekend

El próximo sábado 21 de junio, Lana Connection organiza en Madrid una Tricotada Solidaria en la que todo el dinero que se recaude irá destinado a AESHA - Asociación de Enfermos de Hemiplejia Alternante.

Si, como en mi caso, no podéis desplazaros a Madrid tenéis la posibilidad de colaborar tejiendo o ganchilleando mariposas azules (como el logo de AESHA) y enviándoselas por correo (podéis encontrar la dirección de envío en la página del evento en Facebook).

El último día para enviar las mariposas es el lunes 16 de junio, así que todavía estáis a tiempo de preparar unas mariposas a lo largo del fin de semana  (yo ya estoy en ello!)

¡A hacer mariposas azules todo el mundo!

Next Saturday June 21st,  Lana Connection  is organising in Madrid (Spain) a Charity Knitting Day where all the money raised will be given to  AESHA - Association of Patients affected by Alternating Hemiplegia.

If, as me, you can't go to Madrid you still have the possibility to collaborate by knitting or crocheting some blue butterflies (as AESHA logo) and by sending them by mail (you can find the delivery address in their Facebook event page).

The last day to send the butterfiles is monday June 16th, so you are still on time to make some butterflies along the weekend (I am working on it already!).
