Inspiración: Aguja Mágica / Inspiration: Punch Needle

En mi "vuelta al cole" particular siempre dedico tiempo a recordar e intentar retomar cosas que he ido dejado pendientes a lo largo del año (o incluso de varios años).

Una de estas ideas de mi limbo de proyectos sin hacer es el bordado con aguja mágica incluso después de estar totalmente equipada con el kit  completo, hilos de todos los colores y el maravilloso libro de Laura Ameba.

La verdad es que me apetece un montón aprender esta técnica así que he recopilado unas cuantas ideas para ver si así me ánimo a cambiar un poco de labor.

¿No os parece que el bordado con aguja mágica tiene que ser súper entretenido?


In my very own "back to school" I always take some time to remind and try to take up the things I have left pending along the year (or even several years).

One of these ideas from my unfinished projects limbo is punch needle embroidery even after being totally equipped with the whole kit, thread in every colour and  Laura Ameba's wonderful book.

Honestly I would like so much to learn this technique so I have gathered some ideas to see whether this way I feel more likely to change my type of craft.

Don't you think that punch needle embroidery has to be really entertaining?

Adiós, Abril / Bye bye, April

Este mes de abril ha sido el mes de las nubes y la lluvia y me ha servido para despedirme definitivamente del invierno con el conjunto de gorro y cuello Illume, una bonita bufanda de ganchillo y mi colorida "Blue Bell Hill Scarf".

Además, me he olvidado de los ovillos y de las agujas de tejer por un momento con mis propósitos de retomar la costura y de practicar una técnica nueva, el bordado con aguja mágica con la ayuda del maravilloso libro de Laura Ameba.

Por último, he inaugurado una nueva sección en el blog dedicada a planes interesantes para el fin de semana en la que "La Ruta de los Duendes" ha sido mi primera propuesta.

Estoy deseando que comience el mes de mayo y poder sentir que, de verdad, es primavera.

This month of April has been the month of the clouds and the rain and it allowed me to finally say goodbye to winter with the  Illume hat and cowl set, a pretty crochet scarf and my colourful "Blue Bell Hill Scarf".

In addition, I have forgotten the skeins and knitting needles for a while with my resolutions of starting to sew again and of practising a new technique, punch needle embroidery with the help of the wonderful book of Laura Ameba.

Last, I have started a new blog section about interesting plans for the weekend where "La Ruta de los Duendes" (the Route of the Elves) was my first suggestion.

I am looking forward to the beginning of the month of May and to be able to feel that it, really, is spring.

Craft Books ♥ 9 - Laura Ameba

Hace unos años compré un kit de aguja mágica que todavía no he estrenado, algo muy típico en mí…

Desde entonces he ido coleccionando ideas que me gustaban en mi tablero Punch Needle de Pinterest y uno de los nombres que más se repetía en los diseños era el de Laura Ameba, una chilena afincada en Barcelona que con sus bordados maravillosos ha conquistado Japón donde ha publicado su primer libro.

A pesar de que el libro sólo está escrito en japonés no podía no tenerlo en  mi biblioteca craft así que desde principios de año tengo mi copia llegada directamente de Japón con dedicatoria y regalitos sorpresa incluidos.

Aunque no domino el idioma, no resulta complicado entender las instrucciones porque incluye dibujos en los que se indica cómo realizar los distintos tipos de bordados y hay varias fotos explicativas del paso a paso.

Este es el segundo libro llegado de Japón que se incorpora a mi colección (el primero fue el de mi admirada eccomin) y no creo que sea el último porque sus libros de manualidades son de los más bonitos que hay.

Ahora sólo me hace falta empezar a practicar...


A couple of years ago I bought a punch needle set which I haven't used yet, something very typical of me...

Since then I've been collecting some ideas I liked on my Punch Needle board in Pinterest and one of the names I saw the most was Laura Ameba, a girl from Chile settled in Barcelona who has conquered Japan with her embroideries where she has published her first book.

Despite the book being written in Japanese only I just couldn't resist not having it in my craft library so since the beginning of the year I have my own copy directly arrived from Japan with a dedication and some surprise gifts included.

Although I don't speak the language it is not difficult to understand the instructions as it includes drawings showing how to make the different types of embroidery stitches and there are some step by step explanatory pictures.

This is the second book arrived from Japan joining my collection (the first one was from my admired eccomin) and I don't think it would be the last one because their craft books are the most beautiful ones.

Now I only have to start practising...
