Conjunto de bebé en lana / Wool baby outfit

A principios de mes ha sido el primer cumpleaños de mi sobrino Julen así que he aprovechado para tejerle un conjunto de bebé en lana, y es que viviendo en el norte todavía nos quedan días de frío incluso en primavera.

La elección sobre qué hacer no ha sido muy difícil ya que hace tiempo que tenía ganas de repetir el jersey con botones en el pecho (es uno de mis patrones favoritos para bebé desde que lo tejí por primera vez en 2016), pero esta vez en lugar de utilizar lana merino he escogido unos ovillos de  DROPS Nepal  en color crudo porque es una lana suave y muy calentita y, por lo tanto, más adecuada para esta época del año.

Como complemento he añadido un cuello de lana tejido con DROPS Andes  siguiendo el patrón "Snoody"  de Mlle. Sophie  que es muy sencillo pero también muy práctico y cómodo de llevar, sobre todo para los más pequeños.

La verdad es que no me canso de tejer cosas para bebé, incluso repitiendo ideas que ya he hecho en otras ocasiones disfruto mucho porque me encanta construir conjuntos con distintas piezas y elegir colores e hilos diferentes cada vez.

¿No me digáis que este conjunto no es una monada?

At the beginning of the month it was the first birthday of my nephew Julen so I took the opportunity to knit him a wool baby outfit, since living in the North of Spain there are still some cold days left even in spring.

The choice of what to make was not very difficult as I've been wanting to repat the sweater with buttons in the front for a while (it is one of my favorite patterns since I knitted it for the first time in 2016), but this time instead of using merino wool I have chosen some  DROPS Nepal skeins in ecru because it is a soft and very warm wool and, therefore, more appropriate for this season of the year.

As a complement, I have added a wool cowl knitted with  DROPS Andes following the  "Snoody" pattern by  Mlle. Sophie which is very simple but also very practical and easy to wear, specially for the little ones.

The truth is I never get tired of knitting things for babies, even repeating ideas I have previously made I enjoy it a lot because I love creating outfits with different pieces and choosing different colours and yarns each time.

Don't tell me this outfit is not a total cuteness?

Princess Chantilly

 

Desde que descubrí el patrón de la mantita "Princess Chantilly"  de DROPS Design  se ha convertido en uno de mis diseños más recurrentes cuando tengo que hacer algo para bebés

Sin embargo, ya sabéis que cuando repito algún patrón me gusta cambiar el color o el tipo de hilo y, en este ocasión, aproveché para probar el tono "rosado polvo" de DROPS Merino Extrafine que sólo había visto en su web y resultó ser todo un acierto, es el color rosa perfecto.

De momento no tengo ningún proyecto para bebé en mi lista pero estoy casi segura de que no será la última vez que os hable de este diseño...

P.D: Mis otras mantitas "Princess Chantilly" en beige y en crudo

Since I discovered the baby blanket pattern  "Princess Chantilly" by  DROPS Design it has become one of my more recurrent designs when I have to make something for babies.

However, you already know that when I repeat a pattern I like to change the colour or the type of yarn and, in this case, I took advantage to try the shade "powder pink" by  DROPS Merino Extrafine that I had only seen on their web and it was such a good decision, it is the perfect pink colour.

At the moment I don't have any baby project on my list but I am almost sure that this won't be the last time I tell you about this design...

Conjunto de bebé / Baby outfit

Como ya os adelanté en mi cuenta de Instagram  durante el verano tuve la oportunidad de hacer muchas cosas para bebés y ha llegado el turno de que os enseñe el último conjunto que tenía pendiente  de publicar.

Es un conjunto de bebé completo compuesto por chaquetita, pantaloncitos y zapatillas y, al mismo tiempo, es algo diferente a otros conjuntos que he hecho antes porque, aunque incluye algunas de mis prendas favoritas (hola, pantaloncitos), son todo diseños nuevos para mí.

La chaqueta de punto es el patrón "Harald's Jacket"  de Strikdet  y a simple vista es un modelo muy sencillo pero tiene un corte muy bonito que queda bien con todo.

Los pantaloncitos tienen un tipo de punto más elaborado que es muy entretenido de tejer y son el patrón "Picnic Baby Bloomers"  de Sandra Magalhães. No es ninguna novedad lo mucho que me gustan este tipo de prendas y este modelo con tirantes me encanta especialmente.

Por último, el toque final lo ponen las  Adidas Superstar  de Crochet Sneakers  que desde siempre son uno de mis modelos favoritos de zapatillas así que me ha hecho mucha ilusión hacerlas en tamaño mini.

No sé si es por la novedad pero me gusta mucho el conjunto y no me importaría repetirlo y probar otras combinaciones de color.

As I already advanced on my  Instagram account during the summer I had the chance to make a lot of things for babies and now it's the turn to show you the last outfit I had waiting to be published.

It's a full baby outfit composed of a little jacket, baby bloomers and shoes and, at the same time, it is something different to other outfits I have made before because, although it includes some of my favorite garments (hello, baby bloomers), all of the designs are new to me.

The knit jacket is  "Harald's Jacket" pattern by  Strikdet and at first glance it is a very simple design but it has a very nice cut that fits well with everything.

The baby bloomers have a more elaborated stitch which is very amusing to knit and they are  "Picnic Baby Bloomers" pattern by  Sandra Magalhães. It is no news how much I like this kind of garments and I love this design with suspenders specially.

Last, the final touch is put by the  Adidas Superstar by  Crochet Sneakers which have always been one of my favorite sneakers designs so I've been so happy to make them in a mini size.

I don't know whether it's because it is something new but I like the baby outfit a lot and I wouldn't mind to repeat it and try new colour combinations.

Baby Bowie

 

A principios de agosto os hablaba de un proyecto de ganchillo inspirado en un cantante británico famoso por llevar pintado un rayo en la cara y ahora, más de un mes después, puedo desvelar el misterio y contaros que se trataba del bucito "Baby Bowie" de Alimaravillas.

Es un proyecto muy diferente a los que suelo hacer normalmente para bebés pero cuando lo ví por primera vez me gustó tanto que guardé la idea y este verano, por fin, he tenido la oportunidad de hacerlo.

La verdad es que tenía muchas ganas de ganchillearlo y lo he disfrutado mucho, sobre todo cuando tocaba hacer el rayo de la espalda con el hilo rosa con brillo.

Lo único que he cambiado del patrón original ha sido el cierre del bucito donde he sustituido la cremallera por unos "snaps" (corchetes de plástico) que son mucho más fáciles de poner y me parece que le dan un toque muy chulo.

¿No os parece el uniforme perfecto para un pequeño viaje a las estrellas?

At the beginning of August I told you about a crochet project inspired by a British singer famous for wearing a lightning bolt accross his face and now, more than one month after, I can reveal the mystery and tell you that it is the  "Baby Bowie" wee overall by Alimaravillas.

This project is very different to the ones I usually make for babies but when I saw it for the first time I loved is so much that I kept the idea and this summer, finally, I had the opportunity to make it.

To tell the truth I was really looking to crochet it and I have enjoyed it a lot, specially when I had to make the lightning in the back in glitter pink yarn.

The only thing I have changed from the original pattern was the closing of the overall where I have substituted the zipper by some "snaps" which are much more easy to put and which I think look really cool.

Don't you think it is the perfect uniform for a wee trip to the stars?

Peto de bebé arcoíris / Rainbow baby romper

Hace cuatro años hice mi primer peto de bebé de punto y, desde entonces, he tejido unos cuantos pero este verano ha sido la primera vez que he hecho uno sin patrón.

El punto de partida era esta foto de "Cuddle and Kind"  en Instagram  pero, al ser un diseño original de Kalinka Kids  no hay ningún patrón disponible, así que la única opción era intentar tejerlo sobre la marcha basándome sólo en la foto como referencia.

Me pareció que podía hacerlo sin mucho problema porque el peto es bastante sencillo y tiene un diseño muy similar a algunos de los que ya he hecho. Además, me gustaba la idea de ir improvisando y aprendiendo mientras lo tejía.

Dentro de mi optimismo, tenía algunas dudas sobre si sería capaz de acertar con las medidas y, en efecto, es algo que me costó varios intentos hasta que dí con ello (en especial hacer cuadrar las rayas de colores dentro del tamaño fue un poco rompecabezas).

Como homenaje a este entusiasmo y a los colores del diseño lo he bautizado como "Peto Arcoíris" y, ahora que ya conozco algunos trucos espero animarme a improvisar un poco más tejiendo...

Nota: En ningún momento pretendo hacer apología de los plagios. En este caso concreto se trataba de una petición expresa para hacer un regalo y, si hubiera encontrado el patrón correspondiente, lo habría comprado como hago habitualmente. En cualquier caso, os invito a conocer el trabajo de Kalinka Kids  porque diseñan una ropa para niños realmente preciosa.

Four years ago I made my first knitted baby romper and, since then, I've knitted some of them but this summer was the first time I made one without a pattern.

The starting point was this picture from  "Cuddle and Kind" on  Instagram but, as it is an original design from  Kalinka Kids there isn't any available pattern, so the only choice was trying to knit it on the go with the picture as the only reference.

I thought it was something I could easily make because the romper is quite simple and its design is very similar to other ones I have already made. In addition, I liked the idea of improvising and learning while I knitted it.

Within my optimism, I had some doubts about whether I would be able to guess the correct measures and, actually, it was something that took me several attempts until I found it (inparticular matching the colour stripes with the size was some kind of a jigsaw).

As a tribute to this enthusiasm and to the colours of the design I've called it "Rainbow Romper" and, now that I know some tricks, I hope to have the courage to make a little bit more of freestyle knitting...

Pelele "Pickles" / "Pickles" baby romper

Este verano estoy publicando con menos frecuencia en el blog pero sigo trabajando en mis proyectos de punto y de ganchillo.

De hecho, hace casi un mes ya comenté por Instagram que en este periodo estoy haciendo muchas cosas para bebés y ahora que casi todos los destinatarios ya los están disfrutando puedo empezar a enseñarlos  poco a poco.

Uno de estos proyectos es el pelele de punto Pickles  diseñado por  Creativa Atelier que he tejido con mucha ilusión porque, además de ser precioso, es muy diferente a todas las prendas de bebé que he hecho hasta el momento.

Con este diseño he tenido la oportunidad de probar por primera vez el  hilo de algodón "Anchor Baby Pure Cotton" que es el aconsejado en el patrón y la experiencia ha sido muy positiva.

Es un hilo que está especialmente pensado para prendas de bebé porque es hipoalergénico y resistente a la saliva y  me ha gustado mucho porque es muy agradable al tacto y queda muy bien una vez tejido.

Este tipo de prendas de punto (ranitas, peleles, petos...) son mis preferidas cuando tengo que hacer cosas para bebés porque siempre quedan bien y cualquier detalle, como el bolsillo delantero de este diseño, le dan un toque muy original.

This summer I am posting less frequently on the blog but I keep working on with my knitting and crochet projects.

Actually, almost a month ago I already said on Instagram that during this period I am making a lot of things for babies and now that almost all the addressees are already enjoying them I can finally start to show them little by little.

One of this projects is  Pickles baby romper designed by  Creativa Atelier which I have enthusiastically knitted as, in addition to being really pretty, it is very different to the baby garments I have made so far.

With this design I had the opportunity to try for the first time  "Anchor Baby Pure Cotton" yarn which is the one suggested in the pattern and the experience was very positive.

It is a yarn which is specially created for baby clothes as it is hypoallergenic and saliva resistant and I liked it a lot because it is very nice to touch and looks really good once knitted.

This type of knitted garments (baby rompers, onesies, jumpsuits...) are my favorite kind when I have to make things for babies because they always look good and any detail, as the front pocket in this design, add a very original touch.

Don't you find it cute?

Conjunto con peto de bebé / Baby romper outfit

Cuando se trata de hacer ropa para bebés tengo claro que los petos de punto son mis prendas favoritas y hace un mes he tenido la oportunidad de hacer un conjunto para un recién nacido en el que, obviamente, el peto no podía faltar.

Para hacerlo escogí el patrón Peto de Punto de Bebé "Topitos"  de Creativa Atelier aunque yo he realizado una ligera adaptación sustituyendo los topitos por la inicial del nombre del bebé bordada en la parte delantera.

El conjunto lo he completado con unas zapatillas "Converse" en versión mini (como las que hice por primera vez hace cuatro años) y con una guirnalda de ganchillo con estrellas en varios colores.

Al principio no tenía muy claro que las zapatillas quedaran bien con el estilo del peto pero creo que el haberlas hecho en el mismo color que la letra ha sido todo un acierto. 

¿No os parece un regalo perfecto para un bebé?

When it comes to making baby clothes I am clear that knit rompers are my favorite garments and a month ago I had the chance to make a newborn ensemble where, obviously, the baby romper couldn't miss.

To make it I chose the pattern "Little dots" Knit Baby Romper by  Creativa Atelier although I made a slight adaptation substituting the little dots by the initial of the baby's name embroidered in the front.

I have completed the outfit with a pair of  "Converse" mini sneakers (as the ones I made for the first time four years ago) and with a crochet garland made of stars of different colours.

At first I wasn't sure the sneakers would fit with the style of the baby romper but I think that using for them the same colour of the letter has been a wise decision.

Don't you think it is a pefect gift for a baby?

Bienvenido, Julen / Welcome, Julen

A principios de marzo nació Julen, mi segundo sobrino, y la verdad es que ha coincidido con un periodo un poco complicado para todo el mundo pero no deja de ser un motivo de alegría aunque sea en la distancia. 

Cuando decidí cuál iba a ser su regalo de bienvenida tenía en mente algo que pudiera usar en los días de frío de sus primeros meses, así que escogí un conjunto de punto compuesto por el peto "Willum's Overalls"  de PetiteKnit  y uno de mis accesorios de bebé favoritos, el gorrito "Garter Ear Flap Hat"  de Purl Soho.

No sé si cuando todo vuelva a la normalidad (y se pueda salir a la calle de nuevo) todavía va a poder llevarlo pero, en cualquier caso, creo que es un conjunto de bebé perfecto incluso para estar en casa.

At the beginning of march Julen was born, my second nephew, and the truth it has occurred in a period which is a little bit complicated for everyone but it still is a reason to be happy even if it has to be in the distance.

When I decided which was going to be his welcome gift I thought of something he could use during the cold days of his first months, so I chose a knitted outfit composed by  "Willum's Overalls" by  PetiteKnit and one of my favorite baby accesories,  "Garter Ear Flap Hat" by  Purl Soho.

I don't know whether when everything will go back to normal (and we can go out again) he will still be able to wear it but, anyhow, I think it is perfect baby outfit even to stay at home.

Baby Bear

A finales de diciembre os daba pistas sobre algo que estaba tejiendo en color mostaza y, ahora que su pequeña destinataria ya ha nacido, por fin os puedo puedo enseñar el proyecto terminado.

Se trata de un bucito de bebé de punto con orejas de osito que he tejido siguiendo el patrón "Baby Bear"  de Amstrup,  algo muy diferente a todos los proyectos de bebé que he hecho hasta el momento.

La idea era hacer una prenda para utilizar los días de frío así que está tejido con hilo DROPS Nepal  que es una mezcla de lana y alpaca muy suave y calentita, sin olvidar que tiene un tono amarillo mostaza precioso (algo muy importante para este proyecto).

Para mi sorpresa se teje más rápido de lo que parece y hacer las trenzas siempre es muy entretenido así que ya se ha convertido en uno de mis patrones favoritos de prendas para bebés.

At the end  of december I gave you some hints about something I was knitting in mustard colour and, now that its wee recipient is born, I can finally show you the finished project.

It is a knitted baby onesie with bear ears that I have made following  "Baby Bear" pattern by  Amstrup, something very different to all the baby projects I have made so far.

The idea was to make an outfit to be used with cold weather so it is knitted with  DROPS Nepal yarn which is a very soft and warm mix of wool and alpaca, without forgetting its beautiful mustard yellow tone (something very important for this project).

To my surprise it is knitted faster than it seems and making the cables is always very entertaining so it has already become one of my favorite patterns for baby outfits.

Garter Earflap Hat

Uno de los principales motivos por los que empecé a tejer es que quería hacer todos los proyectos de Purl Soho  y de vez en cuando reduzco un poco la lista haciendo alguno de sus maravillosos patrones.

Entre todas sus diseños mis favoritos son los de bebés así que cuando este invierno he tenido que tejer un gorrito de lana para un bebé el patrón "Garter Earflap Hat"  fue una de las primeras ideas que me vino a la cabeza.

La primera vez que tejí este gorrito fue para mi sobrina hace unos años y, aunque me gustó mucho cómo quedó entonces, en esta ocasión he cambiado un poco la versión utilizando unos ovillos de Katia Basic Merino  que tenía en mi "stash" y sustituyendo la borla por un pompón en color rojo, a petición de la mami del pequeñín.

La verdad es que tenía este patrón un poco en el olvido pero seguramente lo repetiré porque me parece el regalo perfecto para un bebé.

P.D: Cuando cumplí mi sueño y visité  Purl Soho  en Nueva York :)

One of the main reasons why I started knitting is that I wanted to make all the projects from  Purl Soho and once in a while I cut down on the list by making one of their wonderful patterns.

Among all of their designs my favorites are the ones for babies so when this winter I had to knit a wool hat for a baby  "Garter Earflap Hat" pattern was one of the first ideas that came to my mind.

The first time I knitted this hat was for my niece some years ago and, although I liked a lot how it resulted then, in this occasion I changed the version a little bit by using some Katia Basic Merino skeins I had on my stash and by substituting the tassel for a red coloured pom pom, upon request of the mom of the ittle baby.

The truth is I had almost forgotten about this pattern but I will repeat for sure as I think it is the perfect gift for a baby.

P.S: When I fulfilled my dream and I visited  Purl Soho in New York :)

Wool Lovers ♥ 9 - Little Wilder

Desde el principio "Wool Lovers"  ha sido una de mis secciones favoritas del blog y, en esta ocasión, me hace especial ilusión esta entrada porque la protagonista no puede ser más ideal.

Se trata de la pequeña Wilder, un bebé precioso que vive con su familia en Utah y que, al igual que sus hermanos, tiene un estilo muy especial para llevar prendas de punto.

Viendo las fotos que publica su madre desde su cuenta de Instagram , no se me ocurre mejor inspiración para vestir a los más pequeños cuando hace frío: varias capas de punto y colores neutros a juego con la naturaleza.

¿Alguien más tiene ganas de tejer cosas para bebés sin parar?


Since the beginning, "Wool Lovers" has been one of my favorite sections of the blog and, in this occasion, I am specially thrilled with this post as the protagonist couldn't be any cuter.

I am talking about little  Wilder, a beautiful baby who lives with her family in Utah and who, as well as her siblings, has a very special style to wear knitted garments.

Looking at the pictures that her mother posts on her  Instagram account, I can't think of a better inspiration to dress little ones on cold days: several knit layers and neutral colours matching with nature.

Anyone else wants to knit things for babies without a break?

LuiPanda amigurumi

Siguiendo con mi tradición, este año para el cumpleaños de mi sobrina Nora he hecho un amigurumi  para que lo añada a su colección.

En esta ocasión, el diseño que he escogido ha sido el osito "LuiPanda"  de Mr. O'Lui  que es uno de mis patrones de amigurumi  favoritos y, de hecho, éste sería el tercer panda que he hecho hasta el momento.

Para hacerlo un poco diferente a los anteriores, he utilizado un hilo con brillo para hacer el gorrito y el cuello y la verdad es que me gusta mucho cómo ha quedado, le da un aire como más alegre.

No os voy a negar que me encanta elegir ideas para hacer para mi sobrina y ya estoy pensando cuál va a ser el próximo amigurumi  que haga para ella...

Following with my tradition, this year for the birthday of my niece Nora I have made an amigurumi so she can add it to her collection.

In this occasion, the design I have chosen was  Mr. O'Lui's "LuiPanda" bear which is one of my favorite  amigurumi patterns and, actually, this is the third panda I have made so far.

To make it a little bit different to the previous ones, I have used a yarn with metallic sheen for the hat and the collar and the truth is I like the result a lot, it looks more cheerful.

I won't deny that I love choosing ideas to make for my niece and I am already thinking about the next  amigurumi I will make for her...

Durante las semanas previas a la Navidad siempre tengo varios proyectos en curso, algunas son cosas para regalar y otras son para mí.

No sé por qué pero es una época del año en la que disfruto mucho tejiendo, me resulta muy agradable estar en casa organizando mis ovillos y con mil ideas rondándome la cabeza.

Por el momento creo que me ha planificado bastante bien y me dará tiempo a hacer todo lo que está en mi lista, así que poco a poco os iré enseñando algunas cosas (otras son secretas...).

¿A alguien más le gusta ejercer de elfo navideño?

During the weeks before Christmas I always have several ongoing projects, some of them are gifts and other ones are things for me.

I don't know why but it is a season of the year when I enjoy knitting a lot, I find very pleasant to be at home organising my skeins and with thousands of ideas running through my head.

At the moment I think I have done a good planning and I will be able to make everything on my list, so little by little I will be showing you some things (other ones are secret...).

Anyone else likes being a Christmas elf?

Gorrito de bebé con orejas de conejito / Baby bunny hat

A principios de octubre os daba algunas pistas sobre algo que estaba ganchilleando y ahora por fin puedo enseñaros de qué se trataba, un gorrito de bebé con orejas de conejito.

Siempre me han gustado este tipo de gorritos de bebé y, aunque hay muchos modelos diferentes, he elegido este patrón de Ravelry  porque me parece realmente bonito. 

Mi idea inicial era hacerlo utilizando sólo DROPS Alpaca Bouclé  que tiene un efecto como de borreguito muy agradable pero quedaba demasiado fino, así que decidí combinarlo con DROPS Merino Extrafine en los mismos colores y al final ha quedado un gorrito de bebé muy mono y calentito.

Realmente no sé si este tipo de gorros son muy prácticos pero creo que pueden quedar muy bonitos en una sesión de fotos de bebé, ¿no os parece?

At the beginning of october I gave you some hints about something I was crocheting and now I can finally show you what it was, a baby bunny hat.

I have always liked this kind of baby hats and, although there are many different designs, I chose this pattern from  Ravelry because I think it is specially pretty.

My initial idea was to make it using only  DROPS Alpaca Bouclé that has a sheepskin effect  which is very nice but it was too thin so I decided to combine it with  DROPS Merino Extrafine in the same colours and the result is a very cute and warm baby hat.

Actually I don't know if this kind of hats are very practical but I think that they can look very pretty in a baby photoshoot, don't you think so?
