Cosas que me gustan / Things I like # 48 - Fun Fan Blouse by Pickles

 

No es ningún secreto lo mucho que me gustan los diseños de Pickles  y, aunque no he incluido ninguno de sus patrones en mi "Make Nine Challenge"  de este año, la verdad es que si tuviera tiempo tejería casi todos sus proyectos.

El último flechazo de entre todas sus propuestas ha sido el patrón "Fun Fan Blouse",   un jersey de mohair en punto calado con mangas abullonadas que me parece el resumen perfecto las tendencias más recientes.

Por desgracia no me a dar tiempo a tejerlo este invierno pero va directo a mi lista de favoritos para hacer después del verano.

It is no secret how much I like  Pickles designs and, although I haven't included any of their patterns in my  "Make Nine Challenge" for this year, the truth is that if I had the time I would knit almost all of their projects.

The latest crush among all their proposals has been the  "Fun Fan Blouse" pattern, a mohair sweater in lace stitch with puffy sleeves which I think is the perfect recap of most recent trends.

Unfortunately I won't have time to knit it this winter but it goes straight to my list of favorites to make after summer.

Inspiración: Patrones de jerséis de punto para hombre / Inspiration: Men's knit sweaters patterns

 

Últimamente la cosa va de jerséis de punto y es que, no puedo evitarlo, estamos en plena temporada "sweater weather"  y no hay nada que me guste más que un buen jersey de lana.

Esta vez, sin embargo, mis propuestas van a ser un poco diferentes porque he seleccionado cinco patrones de jerséis de punto para hombres que me gustan por distintos motivos: por ser el clásico jersey de estilo nórdico, por su colorido, por la originalidad del patrón e, incluso, por ser la excusa perfecta para ir vestidos a juego sin que se note demasiado.

¿Adivináis cuál es mi diseño favorito?

Lately everything is about knit sweaters as, I can't help it, we are in full "sweater weather" season and there is nothing I like more than a good wool sweater.

This time, however, my proposals will be a little bit different because I have chosen five patterns of men's knit sweater that I like for differente reasons: because it is the classic nordic style sweater, because its colours, for the originality of the pattern and, even, because it is the perfect excuse to wear matching outfits without being too obvious.

Cocoon Summer Sweater

El primer proyecto que he terminado este otoño ha sido el jersey "Cocoon Summer Sweater"  de Pickles  del que os hablé a finales de septiembre.

Como ya expliqué entonces, no estaba en mis planes tejer este diseño pero me gustó tanto cuando lo vi en Instagram  que no pude resistirme.

Cuando lo estaba tejiendo, me recordaba en cierto modo al jersey "Sunday Sweater"  que terminé a finales del año pasado porque los dos siguen la técnica "top-down" y empiezan con una especie de punto canalé ancho, sin embargo el resultado es completamente diferente y tiene un acabado más ajustado.

Mi idea inicial era utilizar el jersey "Cocoon"  para los días de otoño en los que no hiciera mucho frío pero, aunque lo terminé hace ya unas semanas, todavía no he podido estrenarlo porque la temperatura no ha acompañado demasiado. 

La verdad es que me imagino que no podré utilizarlo hasta primavera así que estoy pensando repetir el patrón con unos ovillos de lana para hacer una versión más calentita del jersey.

The first project I have finished this autumn was  "Cocoon Summer Sweater" by  Pickles which I told you about at the end of September.

As I already explained then, knitting this design was not on my plans but when I saw it on  Instagram I liked it so much and I couldn't resist myself.

When I was knitting it, it reminded me somehow to  "Sunday Sweater" which I finished at the end of last year because both of them follow the "top-down" technique and they start with some sort of wide rib stitch, however the result is completely different and the finishing is more tight.

My first idea was to use  "Cocoon" sweater warm autumn days but, although I already finished it a couple of weeks ago, I still haven't been able to wear it because the weather didn't keep up very much.

The truth is that I guess that I won't be able to use it until springtime so I am thinking about repeating the pattern with some wool skeins to make a warmer version of the sweater.

Mi último capricho del verano ha sido el kit  "Cocoon Summer Sweater"  de Pickles  que compré con la idea de tenerlo terminado para principios de otoño.

En realidad tejerlo no estaba en mis planes pero vi una foto del jersey terminado en su cuenta de Instagram  y ya no pude resistirme.

Tampoco es ninguna sorpresa porque los diseños de Pickles  siempre han sido de mis favoritos desde que empecé a tejer y a hacer ganchillo, pero esta es la primera vez que utilizo los ovillos de su marca.

Para este patrón estoy utilizando el hilo "Sommerull " que es una mezcla de lana de cordero y algodón ecológico y me ha sorprendido mucho porque tiene una textura muy agradable que va a hacer que el jersey sea perfecto para los días cálidos de otoño.

De momento sólo puedo enseñaros los ovillos pero ya tengo el jersey casi terminado así que dentro de muy poco publicaré el resultado completo.

My latest summer whim was the  "Cocoon Summer Sweater" kit by  Pickles which I bought thinking of finishing it by the beginning of autumn.

Actually knitting it was not on my plans but when I saw a picture of the finished sweater on their  Instagram account I couldn't resist myself.

It is no surprise at all because  Pickles designs have always been some of my favorites since I started knitting and crocheting, but it is the first time I use skeins from their brand.

Fot this pattern I am using "Sommerull" yarn which is a comibinabion of lamb wool and ecologic cotton and I am very surprised because the texture is very nice which will make the sweater perfect for warm autumn days.

At the moment I can only show the skeins but I have almost finished the sweater so very soon I will post the whole result.

Cinco prendas de punto para hacer en verano / Five knitwear garments to make in summer

Desde hace unos años, durante el verano no pierdo la oportunidad de añadir una prenda de punto o ganchillo nueva a mi armario.

Al principio las labores me parecían algo más típico del otoño o del invierno y me limitaba a hacer complementos o cosas para casa pero la verdad es que hay muchísimos diseños preciosos de verano entre los que poder elegir y es tan sencillo como cambiar la lana por el hilo de algodón.

Como de costumbre tengo más ideas y proyectos en mi lista que tiempo pero aún así, he hecho una selección de mis cinco patrones favoritos de prendas de punto para este verano porque nunca hay que perder la inspiración.

Obviamente no he podido resistirme mucho y, aprovechando unos ovillos de mi stash, estoy a punto de empezar uno de estos proyectos y he comprado algodón en un color realmente precioso para hacer otro más...

Since a couple of years ago, during summer I don't miss the opportunity to add a new knit or crochet garment to my closet.

At the beginning I thought crafts were something more typical of autumn or winter and I just made accesories or things for the home but the truth is that there are so many pretty summer designs to choose from and it is as simple as substituting wool for cotton yarn.

As usual I have more ideas and projects on my list than time but even so, I have made a selection of my five favorite knitwear garments for this summer because you can never miss inspiration.

Obviously I couldn't resist myself much and, using some skeins from my stash, I am about to start one of this projects and I have bought some cotton in a really beautiful colour to make another one...

Mis DIY favoritos / My favorite DIYs # 18 - Waffel Hat

El primer gorro de lana que tejí fue el Waffel Hat  de Pickles, un gorro con un patrón muy original que me enamoró nada más verlo.

En aquel momento mis conocimientos de punto se limitaban a tejer con dos agujas así que la idea de utilizar agujas circulares me resultaba muy interesante.

No me acuerdo exactamente cuánto tarde en hacerlo pero tuvo que ser muy poco tiempo porque estaba super emocionada tejiendo sin parar y viendo como quedaba con cada vuelta que hacía.

La lana que escogí para tejerlo fue Rowan Cocoon una lana increíblemente suave y calentita que podría decir que es la lana oficial de mis gorros de punto porque es la misma que utilicé para tejer el gorro Take Heart.

Todavía hoy sigue siendo uno de mis gorros favoritos, mi fiel compañero en los días de frío porque por su diseño y color queda bien con todo.


The first wool hat I knitted was Waffel Hat by  Pickles, a hat with a very original pattern which I fell in love with at first sight.

At that moment my knitting skills were limited to knitting with straight needles so I found the idea of using circular needles very interesting.

I don't remember exactly how long it took me to make it but it had to be little time because I was super excited knitting without a break and seeing how it looked after each round I made.

The wool I chose to knit it was Rowan Cocoon an incredibly soft and warm wool that I could say is the official wool of all my knitted hats as it is the same I used to knit  Take Heart hat.

Today it is still one of my favorite hats, my loyal friend during cold days because due to its design and colour it matches with everything.

Mis DIY favoritos / My favorite DIYs # 16 - Nordic Wool Rug

Mi último flechazo en ideas para decorar la casa es la preciosa alfombra Nordic Wool Rug  de Pickles. 

Me gusta mucho su aspecto rústico de lana gordita y la combinación de gris y amarillo limón, ideal para crear un ambiente de estilo nórdico.

Es un DIY fácil y rápido de hacer, así que si os apetece tener vuestra propia alfombra nórdica sólo tenéis que seguir las indicaciones de Pickles.


My latest love at first sight on home decor ideas is the pretty  Nordic Wool Rug  by  Pickles.

I like its rustic look of super chunky wool and the mix of grey and lemon yellow a lot, perfect for creating a Nordic style ambiance.

It is a very easy and quick DIY, so if you want to have your own nordic rug you only have to follow Pickles' instructions.

Mis DIY favoritos / My favorite DIYs # 13 - Easy Egg-Warmers

El año pasado hice una recopilación de ideas para decorar la casa en Pascua (podéis verla aquí), así que este año me he decido a poner en práctica alguna de esas propuestas.

 

La idea que me resultaba más atractiva son las fundas de ganchillo para huevos porque son bonitas, originales y divertidas, así que siguiendo el patrón Easy Egg-Warmers de Pickles he hecho tres modelos diferentes.

 

Para hacerlos he utilizado unos ovillos de DMC Natura Just Cotton que tenía en casa y que está muy bien para proyectos de ganchillo.

 

¿Alguien más se anima a decorar la casa con motivos de Pascua?

 

 

Last year I made a selection of Easter home decor ideas (you can see it here), so this year I've decided to put into practice some of those suggestions.

 

The idea I liked the most was crochet egg cozy warmers because they are pretty, original and fun, so following Pickles' Easy Egg-Warmers pattern I made three different models.

 

I made them using some DMC Natura Just Cotton skeins I had at home and which are perfect for crochet projects.
