Cinch Me Crop

 

Este verano, además de tejer bolsos, también he encontrado el proyecto perfecto para unos ovillos de algodón de "We Are Knitters"  que me sobraron después de terminar el "Sabrina Sweater".

No estaba para nada en mi lista de proyectos de verano pero curioseando por Instagram  descubrí el top "Cinch Me Crop"  de Camille Mikolas  y enseguida pasó a ser una necesidad.

Por suerte o por desgracia, no tenía suficiente hilo así que al final tuve que hacer una versión sin mangas y la verdad es que creo que me gusta más así.

This summer, besides knitting bags, I have also found the perfect project for some cotton skeins from  "We Are Knitters" that I didn't use after finishing  "Sabrina Sweater".

It wasn't at all on my summer projects list but after nosing around  Instagram I found "Cinch Me Crop" top by  Camille Mikolas and it immediately became a need for me.

For better or worse, I didn't have enough yarn so at last I had to made a sleeveless version and honestly I think I like it more this way.

Bolsito de verano de punto / Summer knit sachet

Cuando eccomin  me envió su libro de accesorios hace unos años me propuse ir haciendo todos los diseños poco a poco y este verano he avanzado un poquito más en mi propósito tejiendo un bolsito de verano.

Desde el principio tenía claro cuál era el modelo que iba a hacer pero no sabía qué hilo utilizar hasta que encontré la variedad "Veggie Wool"  de Casa Sol  que me pareció perfecta para tejer mi bolsito.

La siguiente elección un poco "complicada" fue escoger la tela para el forro interior porque tenía varias que me gustaban y, en este caso, me decidí por una tela estampada con mandalas de colores que contrasta muy bien con el color rosa del hilo.

Como siempre que hago un diseño de eccomin  me encanta el resultado y, si me seguís por Instagram, ya habréis visto que  cómo queda el bolsito.

When  eccomin sent me her accesories book a couple of years ago I was decided to make all the designs little by little and this summer I have moved a little bit forward in my resolution by knitting a summer sachet.

Since the beginning I knew the pattern I was going to make but I didn't know which yarn to use until I found  "Veggie Wool" range by  Casa Sol which seemed perfect to knit my sachet.

The next a little bit "difficult" choice was choosing the fabric for the linen as I had several ones I liked and, in this case, I chose a printed fabric with colour mandalas which contrasts very well with the pink colour of the yarn.

As every time I make a design from  eccomin I love the result and, if you follow me on Instagram, you would have already seen how the sachet looks like.

Bubble Button Blouse

Poco a poco sigo avanzando en mis proyectos del desafío "Make Nine Challenge"  y ahora es el momento de hablaros del diseño que escogí para hacer en verano.

Mi idea inicial era tejer el modelo "Bubble Sleeve Blouse"  de Rilleruth  pero descubrí una versión del mismo modelo con botones que se llama "Bubble Button Blouse"  y me gustó más así que, en el último momento, decidí sustituirlo.

El rasgo más característico de este patrón son sus mangas abullonadas que son una de mis cosas favoritas así que no es raro que fuera un "amor a primera vista" cuando vi el patrón por primera vez.

Para tejerlo he utilizado hilo de algodón peinado de "Casasol"  en color maquillaje que escogí porque coincidía perfectamente con el tipo de hilo sugerido en el patrón y ha resultado ser todo un descubrimiento por su buena calidad.

Si seguís mi cuenta de Instagram  ya sabréis que estoy encantada con el resultado, tanto que es uno de esos proyectos que no me importaría repetir.

Little by little I keep making progresses on my  "Make Nine Challenge" projects and now it is the moment to talk to you about the design I chose to make during the summer.

My first idea was to knit  Rilleruth's  "Bubble Sleeve Blouse" pattern but I discovered another version of the same design with buttons which is called  "Bubble Button Blouse" and I liked it more so, in the last moment, I decided to substitute it.

The most characteristic feature of this pattern are its puffy sleeves which are one of my favorite things so it's not strange that I felt "love at first sight" when I saw the pattern for the first time.

To knit it I have used brushed cotton yarn by  "Casasol" in makeup tone which I chose because it matched perfectly with the type of yarn suggested in the pattern and it has been a great discovery because of its good quality.

If you follow my  Instagram account you will already know that I love the result, so much that this is one of those projects which I wouldn't mind repeating.

Si te gusta tejer tanto como a mí, seguro que en verano no quieres renunciar a tus agujas y ya sabes que el  truco es cambiar la lana por algodón y escoger proyectos ligeros que sean rápidos de hacer.

Siguiendo esta idea hasta ahora todas las prendas de vestir que he hecho han sido jerséis y camisetas de manga corta pero últimamente me he encontrado con algunos diseños de tops que me han gustado mucho y me ha parecido buena idea compartirlos aquí.

No sé si me dará tiempo a hacer alguno este verano pero cualquiera de ellos me parece perfecto para probar algo diferente.

Espero que os guste mi recopilación, seguro que acabáis con más de un top de punto favorito...

If you like knitting as much as I do, I am sure that in the summer you don't want to quit your needles and you already know that the trick is to swap wool for cotton and choose light projects which are quick to make.

According to this idea all the knitwear I have made so far were sweaters and short sleeve shirts but lately I have come across several designs of tops which I really liked so I think it is a good idea to share them here.

I don't know whether I will have time to knit any this summer but I find that either of them is perfect to try something different.

En mi lista de proyectos de verano siempre hay hueco para hacer algún bolsito de punto o ganchillo y este año no iba a ser menos.

Para escoger el modelo he recurrido otra vez al libro de eccomin  y es que me gustan tanto sus diseños que me he propuesto hacerlos todos poco a poco.

Todavía tengo que terminar algunas cosas antes de empezar a hacer mi bolsito pero estoy deseando ponerme a ello...

On my list of summer projects there's always space to make a knit or crochet bag and this year it won't be different.

To choose the pattern I have returned again to  eccomin's book as I like her design that much that I have decided to make all of them little by little.

I still have to finish some things before I start making my bag but I am really looking forward to it...

Cosas que me gustan / Things I like # 50 - The Garden Party Blanket

No es muy habitual hablar de mantas cuando se acerca el verano pero hace unas semanas descubrí el patrón "Garden Party Blanket"  de Hattie Risdale   de "The Petal Shed"  y no he podido evitar compartir esta preciosa manta de ganchillo.

Me encanta el diseño de flores de los "grannies" y la combinación de colores pastel con otros tonos más brillantes me  parece perfecta para este tipo de manta.

Normalmente en esta época del año suelo dedicarme a proyectos más pequeños y rápidos de terminar pero me encantaría hacer una manta con hilo de algodón, me parece un buen proyecto para ir haciendo durante los meses de verano.

It's not very common to talk about blankets when summer is coming but a couple of weeks ago I found  "Garden Party Blanket" pattern by   Hattie Risdale from  "The Petal Shed" and I couldn't resist sharing this beautiful crochet blanket.

I love the design of the flowers of the grannies and I find that the combination of pastel colours with other brighter tones is perfect for this type of blanket.

Normally in this season of the year I use to make smaller projects which are quicker to finish but I would love to make a blanket with cotton yarn, I think is a very nice project to make along summer months.

Cosas que me gustan / Things I like # 49 - Crochet Raffia Net Bag

Todos los años cuando se acerca el verano me apetece hacer algún bolso de punto o ganchillo y, aunque siempre tengo algún proyecto pendiente, no pierdo la ocasión de buscar ideas nuevas.

Uno de mis últimos flechazos ha sido un bolso de ganchillo hecho con rafia diseñado por Cerise Paris  que me recuerda a los cestos de toda la vida con un toque un poco más moderno.  

Me parece un proyecto perfecto para hacer en verano bien siguiendo el patrón que está disponible en su tienda de Etsy  o, si el ganchillo no es lo vuestro, también tenéis la posibilidad de comprar el bolso listo para llevar.

Each year when summer approaches I feel like making some crochet or knit bag and, although I always have some pending projects, I don't miss the chance to look for new ideas.

One of my latest love at first sights is a raffia crochet bag designed by  Cerise Paris which reminds me of the classic baskets with a more modern touch.

I think it is a perfect project to make during the summer either making it yourself with the pattern which is available on her Etsy shop or, if crochet is not your thing, you can also buy the bag ready to wear.

Cosas que me gustan / Things I like # 45 - Bubble Button Blouse by Rilleruth

 

Sé que el verano está a punto de terminar pero siempre es un buen momento para compartir un top de punto bonito y para coger ideas,  así que hoy os hablo del patrón "Bubble Button Blouse"  de Rilleruth.

Como siempre me pasa desde hace algún tiempo, llegué a él gracias a Instagram  y me llamó mucho la atención por su originalidad: mangas abullonadas y una hilera de botones que pueden llevarse por delante o por detrás.

Para mí es el típico diseño que una vez tejido acaba convirtiéndose en uno de mis favoritos aunque, en este momento, tendría problemas para elegir en qué color tejerlo porque me encanta en todas las versiones que he visto.

Obviamente no me va a dar tiempo a tejerlo antes de que llegue el frío pero la buena noticia es que también hay una versión de invierno con manga larga.

I know summer is about to end but it is always a good moment to share a nice knit top and to grab some ideas, so today I am going to talk to you about  "Bubble Button Blouse" pattern by  Rilleruth.

As always happens to me lately, I found it thanks to Instagram and it really draw my attention by its originality: puffy sleeves and a row of buttons that can be worn in the front or in the back.

To me it is the kind of design that once knitted becomes one of my favorites although, at the moment, I find it quite difficult to choose a colour to knit it because I love it in all the versions I've seen.

Obviously I won't have time to knit it before cold weather arrives but the good news is that there is also a winter version with long sleeves.

Bolso de punto / Knit bag

Este verano, además de tejer cosas para bebés, he tenido tiempo para hacer un proyecto que me hacía mucha ilusión, una versión adaptada de mi bolso favorito de eccomin.

Es un diseño que siempre he querido hacer y como tenía unos ovillos de Phildar Amazone con una calidad muy similar a la del modelo original me pareció que podía quedar bien.

No es la primera vez que uso este hilo para hacer un bolso, ya que es el mismo que utilicé el año pasado para hacer el patrón "French Market Bag" así que parece que estos ovillos estén predestinados a convertirse en accesorios.

Como toque final, para el forro interior del bolso decidí utilizar la tela de una camisa que ya no me pongo pero que tiene un estampado que me encanta. La idea de utilizar la camisa surgió un poco por el Proyecto 333, ya que tras hacer limpieza en mi armario no me decidía a deshacerme de ella y se me ocurrió que podía darle una segunda vida utilizándola en alguno de mis proyectos. 

Aunque mi bolso no es exactamente como el original yo estoy encantada con el resultado y ya se ha convertido en uno de mis favoritos.

This summer, in addition to knitting things for babies, I also had time to make a project I was very excited about, an adapted version of my favorite eccomin bag.

It is a design I have always wanted to make and as I had some  Phildar Amazone skeins which quality is very similar to the one of the original model I though it could come out well.

It is not the first time that I use this yarn to make a bag, as it is the same I used last year to make the "French Market Bag" pattern so it seems like these skeins are predestined to becoming accesories.

As final touch, for the inside lining I decided to use the fabric from a shirt I don't wear anymore but which has a print that I love. The idea of using the shirt kind of arose from Project 333, as after making a wardrobe clean out I couldn't get rid of it and I thought I could give it a second life using it in one of my projects.

Although my bag is not exactly as the original I am very happy with the result and it is already one of my favorites.

A principios de verano añadí a mi lista de proyectos el jersey "Ankers Summer Shirt"  de PetiteKnit  porque me parecía una buena opción para tejer antes de que llegara el frío.

Sabía que no iba a poder empezarlo hasta finales de agosto pero tenía tantas ganas que llevo reservando estos ovillos de DROPS Muskat en color arcilla desde junio.

Al final la espera ha merecido la pena y ya lo tengo casi terminado así que dentro de poco podré enseñaros cómo ha quedado.

At the beginning of summer I added  PetiteKnit's "Ankers Summker Shirt" to my projects list because I thought it was a good choice to knit before the arrival of cold weather.

I know I was not going to be able to start it until the end of August but I was willing it so much that I've been keeping these  DROPS Muskat skeins in clay colour since June.

At the end the wait was worth it and I have almost finished it so I will soon show you how it looks.

Water Clover

 

A principios de verano empecé a ganchillear  el top "Water Clover" de Isa Catepillán y, salvo por un "pequeño" detalle, puedo decir que está terminado y listo para estrenar.

Ese detalle es en realidad un error de principiante que hace que sea imposible que me lo pueda poner porque es demasiado pequeño.

Mientras lo iba haciendo empecé a sospechar que, a lo mejor, el resultado no iba a ser el que yo esperaba pero no tenía suficiente hilo para hacerlo más grande así que decidí terminarlo con la esperanza de que al bloquearlo "creciera" un poquito.

La verdad es que no sabría decir si el problema fue que escogí una talla pequeña, el hilo no era el adecuado o el tamaño de la aguja era demasiado pequeño. Igual fue una combinación de las tres cosas y que no hice la muestra...

En cualquier caso, no voy a poder ponérmelo pero mi idea es repetir el patrón con las medidas correctas porque me gusta mucho el diseño y creo que merece una segunda oportunidad.

At the beginning of summer I started crocheting  "Water Clover" top by Isa Catepillan and, except for a "small" detail, I can say that it is finished and ready to wear.

That detail is actually a beginner's mistake that makes it impossible for me to wear it as it is too small.

While I was making it I started to imagine that, maybe, the result was not going to be what I expected but I didn't have enough yarn to make it bigger so I decided to finish it hoping that it would "grow" a litte bit with the blocking.

In fact I couldn't say whether the problem was that I chose a small size, the yarn was not appropriate or the size of the hook was too small. Maybe it was a combination of all three things and that I didn't make the swatch...

Anyway, I won't be able to wear it but my idea is to repeat the pattern with the correct measures because I like the design a lot and I think it deserves a second chance.

Peto de bebé arcoíris / Rainbow baby romper

Hace cuatro años hice mi primer peto de bebé de punto y, desde entonces, he tejido unos cuantos pero este verano ha sido la primera vez que he hecho uno sin patrón.

El punto de partida era esta foto de "Cuddle and Kind"  en Instagram  pero, al ser un diseño original de Kalinka Kids  no hay ningún patrón disponible, así que la única opción era intentar tejerlo sobre la marcha basándome sólo en la foto como referencia.

Me pareció que podía hacerlo sin mucho problema porque el peto es bastante sencillo y tiene un diseño muy similar a algunos de los que ya he hecho. Además, me gustaba la idea de ir improvisando y aprendiendo mientras lo tejía.

Dentro de mi optimismo, tenía algunas dudas sobre si sería capaz de acertar con las medidas y, en efecto, es algo que me costó varios intentos hasta que dí con ello (en especial hacer cuadrar las rayas de colores dentro del tamaño fue un poco rompecabezas).

Como homenaje a este entusiasmo y a los colores del diseño lo he bautizado como "Peto Arcoíris" y, ahora que ya conozco algunos trucos espero animarme a improvisar un poco más tejiendo...

Nota: En ningún momento pretendo hacer apología de los plagios. En este caso concreto se trataba de una petición expresa para hacer un regalo y, si hubiera encontrado el patrón correspondiente, lo habría comprado como hago habitualmente. En cualquier caso, os invito a conocer el trabajo de Kalinka Kids  porque diseñan una ropa para niños realmente preciosa.

Four years ago I made my first knitted baby romper and, since then, I've knitted some of them but this summer was the first time I made one without a pattern.

The starting point was this picture from  "Cuddle and Kind" on  Instagram but, as it is an original design from  Kalinka Kids there isn't any available pattern, so the only choice was trying to knit it on the go with the picture as the only reference.

I thought it was something I could easily make because the romper is quite simple and its design is very similar to other ones I have already made. In addition, I liked the idea of improvising and learning while I knitted it.

Within my optimism, I had some doubts about whether I would be able to guess the correct measures and, actually, it was something that took me several attempts until I found it (inparticular matching the colour stripes with the size was some kind of a jigsaw).

As a tribute to this enthusiasm and to the colours of the design I've called it "Rainbow Romper" and, now that I know some tricks, I hope to have the courage to make a little bit more of freestyle knitting...

Cartera de punto eccomin / eccomin Knit purse

 

Hace casi un año empecé a tejer uno de los proyectos del libro de eccomin  y nunca llegué a terminarlo del todo porque odio coser cremalleras.

Así que, este verano una de mis prioridades ha sido retomarlo porque me gustaba demasiado como para dejarlo en la cesta de los proyectos olvidados.

El primer paso fue escoger la tela del forro para poder comprar una cremallera a juego y, luego ya, armarme de paciencia para coser todo el conjunto poco a poco.

A pesar de mis dudas, la verdad es que no ha sido ningún desastre así que, por fin, puedo lucir orgullosa mi cartera de punto de rayas de eccomin.

Seguramente la usaré para llevarla dentro del bolso porque me encanta tener las cosas guardadas en todo tipo de carteras para poder localizarlas rápido.

P.D: Soy muy fan del trabajo de eccomin  y en estos momentos tengo otro proyecto suyo en curso... Hasta que lo termine podéis ver todos los que he hecho hasta el momento aquí

Almost one year ago I started knitting one of the project from  eccomin's book and I never really finished it because I hate sewing zippers.

So, this summer one of my priorities was getting back to it because I liked it so much as to just leave it in the forgotten projects basket.

The first step was choosing the lining fabric so I could buy a matching zipper and, after that, arming myself with patience to gently ses the whole.

Despite my dubt, actually it wasn't any kind of disaster so, finally, I can proudly wear my striped  eccomin knit purse.

Probably I will use it to carry it inside my handbag because I love to have all my things kept inside all kinds of purses so I can easily find them.

Pelele "Pickles" / "Pickles" baby romper

Este verano estoy publicando con menos frecuencia en el blog pero sigo trabajando en mis proyectos de punto y de ganchillo.

De hecho, hace casi un mes ya comenté por Instagram que en este periodo estoy haciendo muchas cosas para bebés y ahora que casi todos los destinatarios ya los están disfrutando puedo empezar a enseñarlos  poco a poco.

Uno de estos proyectos es el pelele de punto Pickles  diseñado por  Creativa Atelier que he tejido con mucha ilusión porque, además de ser precioso, es muy diferente a todas las prendas de bebé que he hecho hasta el momento.

Con este diseño he tenido la oportunidad de probar por primera vez el  hilo de algodón "Anchor Baby Pure Cotton" que es el aconsejado en el patrón y la experiencia ha sido muy positiva.

Es un hilo que está especialmente pensado para prendas de bebé porque es hipoalergénico y resistente a la saliva y  me ha gustado mucho porque es muy agradable al tacto y queda muy bien una vez tejido.

Este tipo de prendas de punto (ranitas, peleles, petos...) son mis preferidas cuando tengo que hacer cosas para bebés porque siempre quedan bien y cualquier detalle, como el bolsillo delantero de este diseño, le dan un toque muy original.

This summer I am posting less frequently on the blog but I keep working on with my knitting and crochet projects.

Actually, almost a month ago I already said on Instagram that during this period I am making a lot of things for babies and now that almost all the addressees are already enjoying them I can finally start to show them little by little.

One of this projects is  Pickles baby romper designed by  Creativa Atelier which I have enthusiastically knitted as, in addition to being really pretty, it is very different to the baby garments I have made so far.

With this design I had the opportunity to try for the first time  "Anchor Baby Pure Cotton" yarn which is the one suggested in the pattern and the experience was very positive.

It is a yarn which is specially created for baby clothes as it is hypoallergenic and saliva resistant and I liked it a lot because it is very nice to touch and looks really good once knitted.

This type of knitted garments (baby rompers, onesies, jumpsuits...) are my favorite kind when I have to make things for babies because they always look good and any detail, as the front pocket in this design, add a very original touch.

Zero Waste - "Project 333" by Courtney Carver

Desde hace algún tiempo estoy concienciada con ser más sostenible en mi estilo de vida y uno de los primeros pasos que he dado en ese sentido ha sido seguir el desafío "Make Nine Challenge"  con la intención de dar uso a los ovillos que tengo almacenados en casa transformándolos en proyectos concretos que me gusten y vaya a disfrutar una vez terminados.

Sin embargo, creo que también es necesario avanzar en otros aspectos de mi vida y, por eso, estoy en proceso de adaptar mi armario al "Proyecto 333"  de "Be More with Less".

Descubrí esta iniciativa a través de Internet y, como me pareció una propuesta muy interesante, decidí comprar el libro con la intención de que me sirviera como guía en el proceso que, desde el principio, supe que no me iba a resultar fácil.

La idea inicial es muy sencilla: elegir 33 prendas para utilizar durante los 3 meses siguientes. 

Lo que es complicado, por lo menos en mi caso, es adoptar el proceso mental (y emocional) que lleva a ser capaz de realizar esa elección. No se trata de reducir el número de prendas porque sí, sino de ser capaz de simplificar algo tan “sencillo” cómo decidir qué ponernos porque tenemos claro el tipo de prendas que se ajustan realmente a nuestro estilo de vida. 

Todavía estoy en una fase muy inicial de toma de conciencia y, siendo sincera, no sé si llegaré a cumplir el objetivo de que sean sólo 33 prendas (¡me parecen muy pocas!) pero entiendo que es un proceso largo y voy a intentar seguir las pautas en todo lo que pueda para hacerlo lo mejor posible.

De momento, este verano mi objetivo principal es entrar en la dinámica de ser capaz de seleccionar mis imprescindibles (y deshacerme de todo lo demás) para seguir avanzando en otoño y dejar de perder el tiempo pensando en qué ponerme, o peor aún, en por qué tengo tanta ropa que nunca me pongo.

Since a while ago I am awared with having a more sustainable lifestyle and one of the first steps I've made in this sense is following the  "Make Nine Challenge" with the aim of using my stash yarn to transfrom it in specific projects that I like and that I am going to enjoy once finished.

However, I think it is also necessary to move forward in other aspects of my life and, that is why, I am in the process of adapting my wardrobe to  "Project 333" by  "Be More with Less".

I found about this initiative on the internet and, as I thought it was something that could fit what I needed, I decided to buy the book with the aim of using it as a guide in the process which, since the beginning, I knew that wasn't going to be easy for me.

The starting idea is very simple: choosing 33 garments to use during the following 3 months.

What is more complicated, at least for me, is to adopt the mental (and emotional) process that leads to being able to make that choice. It is not just reducing the number of garments mindless,but being able to simplify something as "easy" as deciding what to wear because we are clear about the type of garments that really fit our lifestyle.

I am still at a very early stage of awareness and, to be honest, I don't know whether I will be able to fulfill the objective of choosing just 33 garments (I think they are very few!) but I understand that it is a long process and I am going to try to follow the guidelines as much as I can so I can do my best.

At the moment, this summer my main objective is to come into the dynamics of being able to choose my essentials (and getting rid of all the rest) to continue progressing in autumn and stop losing time thinking about what to wear or, even worse, about why I have so many clothes that I never wear.
