Bienvenido Otoño / Welcome Autumn

Hoy empieza la estación favorita de las tejedoras y este año me apetece disfrutar de un otoño con mucho color y estoy segura  de que no soy la única que está ya pensando en todo lo que le gustaría tejer.

¿Habéis empezado ya con vuestra planificación?

Yo, como todos los años, tengo un montón de ideas de proyectos en mi lista. La verdad es que no creo que me dé tiempo a hacerlos todos así que mi intención es dar prioridad a mis proyectos en curso. Aunque también me gustaría darme algún capricho con algunos proyectos rápidos de hacer...

De cualquier manera, estoy encantada con empezar una nueva estación y, tejedores/as o no, espero que disfrutéis mucho de todas las cosas buenas del otoño.

P.D: Mi otoño en color mostaza y uno y dos proyectos pendientes de terminar...


Today starts knitter's favorite season and this year I am in the mood for enjoying a very colourful autumn and I am sure that I am not the only one who is already thinking about all the things I would like to knit.

Have you started with your planning yet?

As every year, I have lots of project ideas on my list. To tell the truth, I don't think I will have time to finish all of them so my intention is to give priority to my ongoing projects. However I would also like to treat myself with some quick to make projects...

Anyhow, I am very happy with the start of a new season and, knitters or not,I hope that you enjoy a lot all the good things about autumn.

P.S: My mustard coloured autumn and one and two projects waiting to be finished...

Cómo llevarlo: Sombrero estilo étnico / How to wear it: Ethnic style hat

Aunque últimamente no tengo mucho tiempo libre, no paro de pensar ideas nuevas para el blog así que con esta entrada inauguro una nueva sección llamada "Cómo llevarlo" dónde quiero enseñaros cómo combinaría yo algunas de las cosas hechas por mí en punto, ganchillo, costura...

Así, aprovechando que estamos en verano me ha parecido buena idea empezar por el sombrero de estilo étnico que os enseñaba a hacer en este fácil DIY y he escogido tres estilos diferentes para combinarlo:

• Día de playa
• Conjunto de día
• Tarde chic

Although lately I don't have much spare time, I am always thinking new ideas for the blog so with this post I am starting a new section named "How to wear it" where I want to show you how I would match some of the things I've knitted, crocheted, sewed...

So, as we are in summertime I think it is a good idea to start with the ethnic style hat I taught you to make in this easy DIY and I've chosen three different styles to combine it:

Mis DIY favoritos / My favorite DIYs # 20 - Cinco proyectos de Pascua / Five Easter projects

Una de las cosas que envidio mucho de otros países es la celebración de Pascua, me encanta la idea de decorar la casa con conejitos y huevos teñidos con colores alegres.

En España esta celebración no es muy habitual pero últimamente se empieza a ver un poco más así que, por si alguien está buscando ideas, he hecho una selección de cinco proyectos chulos para hacer en Pascua.

One of the things I envy a lot from other countries is Easter celebration, I love the idea of decorating the hows with little bunnies and brightly coloured eggs.

In Spain this celebration is not very common but lately it is becoming more popular so, in case anyone is looking for some ideas, I've made a selections of five cool projects to make at Easter.

Adiós, Enero / Bye bye, January

El mes de enero ha resultado bastante productivo, aunque todavía no haya tenido tiempo de enseñaros muchas cosas por aquí.

He tejido proyectos nuevos y he repetido algunos que ya había realizado como el maravilloso gorro Take Heart de Fiona Alice que ya os enseñé aquí.

Además he avanzado en mi objetivo de reducir stash, así que no me puedo quejar.

Estoy deseando que veáis mis proyectos terminados, a ver si os gustan...

The month of January has been quite productive, although I didn't have time to show you many things here.

I have knitted new projects and repeated some that I had already done like the wonderful Take Heart hat by Fiona Alice that I showed you here.

In addition I have made some progresses in my goal of reducing stash, so I can't complain.

I am looking forward for you to seeing my finished projects, let's see if you like them...

Cosas que me gustan / Things I like # 30 - Friendly Fair Isle Hat

El año acaba de empezar y yo no pierdo las buenas costumbres de recopilar cosas que me gustan.

Seguramente con sólo ver la foto del Friendly Fair Isle Hat  reconoceréis que es un patrón de Purl Soho, el diseño y los colores son muy característicos de sus creaciones.

En realidad es un gorro muy sencillo con un ligero toque de fair isle pero con esos colores flúor y el pompón a mí me tiene enamorada.

¿Se puede pedir más?

The year has just started and I don't loose the good habit of gathering things I like.

Probably only by seeing the picture of the Friendly Fair Isle Hat you will recognise it is a pattern from Purl Soho, the design and the colours are very characteristic of their creations.

It actually is a very simple hat with a slight touch of fair isle but with those neon colours and the pom pom I've fallen in love with it.

What else can we ask for?

Chai

La semana pasada cuando os enseñé mi  gorro Hibiscus os conté que gracias a él estaba participando en el (Virtual) Tea Party un KAL lleno de sorpresas y regalos.

El gran sorteo de regalos se realizará a partir del  31 de diciembre pero yo he tenido la suerte de ganar uno de los premios sorpresa previos, un patrón a mi elección de la Tea Collection de Clare Devine.

Aunque todos los patrones me gustan, no me costó mucho decidirme porque ya tenía echado el ojo al gorro Chai, además de tener el nombre de uno de mis tés favoritos me encantaba por su enorme pompón.

Para hacerlo he utilizado unos ovillos de lana Phildar Nebuleuse que tenía guardados desde hace tiempo con lo que he contribuido a reducir un poco mi stash (voy mejorando...).

Ahora estoy esperando para poder lucirlo en este frío invierno que no acaba de llegar...

Last week when I showed you my Hibiscus hat I told you that thanks to it I was taking part in the (Virtual) Tea Party a KAL full of surprises and gifts.

The big giveaway will take place after December 31st but I've been so lucky to win one of the previous surprise gifts, a pattern of my choice from  Clare Devine's Tea Collection.

Although I like all the patterns, it wasn't too difficult to decide because Chai hat had already caught my attention, in addition to having the name of one of my favorite teas I loved it for its huge pom pom.

To make it I used some balls of wool from Phildar Nebuleuse which I had had for a while so I have also contributed to reducing my stash a little bit (I am making some progresses...).

Now I am waiting to wear it in this cold winter that is taking its time to arrive...

DIY - Sombrero estilo étnico / Ethnic style hat

El invierno pasado inauguré una sección de DIY y hoy quiero proponeros una idea muy fácil y rápida de hacer relacionada con el verano: decorar un sombrero de estilo Panamá con un adorno de inspiración étnica.

La mayoría de accesorios de estilo étnico llevan pompones pequeñitos y un toque de color flúor así que se me ha ocurrido añadir un adorno de pompones como el de este gorro que hice para mi sobrina a un sombrero en color crudo que me regaló una amiga por mi cumpleaños el año pasado.

Primero he hecho tres pompones pequeñitos escogiendo colores que fueran bien con la tonalidad del sombrero, sin olvidarme de añadir un toque de rosa flúor.

Luego he atado los pompones entre sí con un par de nudos fuertes para que se sujeten bien y los he cosido a la cinta del sombrero.

Como veis es una idea super sencilla pero el resultado es muy vistoso y tengo la sensación de estrenar gorro nuevo cada vez que me lo pongo.

Last winter I started a DIY section and today I want to propose you a very easy and quick to make idea related to summer: decorating a Panama style hat with an ethnic inspired embellishment. 

Most of ethnic style accesories have little pom poms and a touch of neon colour so I came with the idea of adding an embellishment with pom poms like the one I put on this hat I made for my niece to a nude colour hat a friend gave to me for my birthday last year.

First I've made three tiny pom poms choosing colours that would match with the tonality of the hat, not forgetting to add a touch of neon pink.

Then I've tied the pom poms together with a couple of strong knots so they hold on tight and I sewed them to the ribbon of the hat.

As you can see it is a super simple idea but the result is very flashy and I feel like I wear a new hat each time I put it on.

Gorrito de niña y bufanda / Girly hat and scarf

Entre las cosas que tejí en Navidad no podía faltar algo para mi sobrina que últimamente la tenía un poco abandonada.

Ya le había tejido este gorro, pero en su carta de los Reyes Magos también estaba apuntado un conjunto de gorro y bufanda por lo que esta vez tenía que buscar algo de un estilo diferente.

Tenía claro que iba a utilizar unos ovillos de mi reserva de DROPS Karisma en gris claro, mi color favorito para los accesorios por lo fácil que es de combinar con casi todo.

Así que pensando en un gorro de lan de estilo clásico me acordé del patrón Baby Hat de Marjoline Petit que había guardado en mis favoritos de Ravelry  hace tiempo y decidí combinarlo con una bufanda tejida en punto bobo (en este caso no seguí ningún patrón para hacerla).

Como toque final se me ocurrió hacer un pequeño adorno con unos mini pompones en morado, fucsia y rosa, sin duda mi parte favorita del conjunto.

Por el momento le está dando buen uso al gorro y a la bufanda, así que tendré que ir cogiendo ideas para el invierno que viene...

Among the things I knitted for Christmas I couldn't miss something for my niece who I had neglected a little bit lately.

I had already knitted this hat for her, but in her letter to the Three Wise Kings it was also included a hat and scarf set so this time I had to look for something of a different style.

I was sure that I was going to use some skeins from my stash of  DROPS Karisma in light grey, my favorite colour for accesories because it is very easy to match with almost everything.

So thinking of a classic style wool hat I remembered the pattern  Baby Hat by Marjoline Petit which was in my  Ravelry favorites quite a while ago so I decided to match it with a garter stitch scarf (in this case I didn't follow any specific pattern to make it).

As final touch I came out with making a small embellishment with some tiny pom poms in purple, fuchsia and pink,which is beyond any doubt my favorite part of the ensemble.

At the moment it seems like she is using the hat and the scarf a lot, so I will have to start looking for some ideas for next winter...

Gorros de estilo peruano / Earflap hat

Vuelvo a la carga con alguna de las cosas que tejí para Navidad.

Esta vez se trata de dos gorros de lana de estilo peruano que tejí siguiendo el patrón Chullo de Esperanza Rosas.

Tenía que hacer dos gorros iguales en colores diferentes y como hacerlos en un solo color me parecía un poco aburrido decidí unir tres hebras de colores diferentes para cada gorro. 

Yo creo que el efecto jaspeado hace que sean más fáciles de combinar, ¿qué os parece?

I'm back with some of the things I knitted for Christmas.

This time I will show you two wool earflap hats  that I knitted following Chullo pattern by Esperanza Rosas.

I had to make two identical hats in different colours and as I thought that making them in one plain colour was a little bit boring I decided to join three yarns of different colours for each hat.

I think that the flecked effect makes them more easy to match, what do you think?

Take Heart by Fiona Alice

Los maravillosos ovillos de lana Rowan Cocoon que me traje de Londres se han convertido en un no menos maravilloso gorro de lana con trenzas y pompón de piel sintética.

El patrón que he seguido es Take Heart de Fiona Alice, un patrón que he estado soñando con hacer desde que lo vi en el número de Pom Pom Quarterly que me autoregalé por mi cumpleaños (podéis verlo aquí).

No sé si me gustan más las trenzas del diseño o el detalle del pompón, pero estoy tan contenta con el resultado que estoy deseando que haga frío de verdad para ponérmelo.


The wonderful Rowan Cocoon wool skeins I bought in London have become a non less wonderful cabled wool hat with a faux fur pom pom.

The pattern I've followed is Take Heart by Fiona Alice, a pattern I've been dreaming of making since I saw it on the Pom Pom Quarterly issue I pampered myself with for my birthday (you can see it here).

I don't know if I like the cables of the pattern or the pom pom most, but I am so happy with the result that I am willing that cold weather starts for sure so I can wear it.

Normalmente los pompones de lana se utilizan para adornar gorros o ropa de niños, pero estas bolas de colores también pueden utilizarse para decorar la casa y objetos de nuestro día a día.

Hay gente a la que no le gustan nada, pero a mí me encantan los pompones  (tengo un tablero en Pinterest dedicado en exclusiva a los pompones) y ya he hecho algún pequeño DIY con ellos como es enseñaba aquí.

Así que... he hecho una selección con algunas ideas para decorar con pompones de lana y dar un poco de color a todo lo que nos rodea.

Usually wool pom poms are used as ornamentes on hats and kids clothes, but this coloured balls can also be used to decorate the house and everyday items.

Some people don't like them at all, but I love pom poms (I have a Pinterest board exclusively for pom poms) and I have already done a small DIY with them as I showed you here.

So... I have made a selection with some ideas we can use to decorate with wool pom poms and to brighten up with colour everything that surrounds us.

Mis DIY favoritos / My favorite DIYs # 5 - Pom Pom Flowers

Me encantan los pompones y siempre tengo un montón de restos de lana guardados, así que los Pom Pom Flowers  me parecen una forma rápida y fácil de aportar color a la casa al mismo tiempo que vacío mi estantería.

Estos pompones eran un regalo, pero estoy segura de que haré muchos más...

I love pom poms and I always keep lots of yarn leftovers, so Pom Pom Flowers seem a quick and easy way to add colour to the home while I make some space on my stash.

These pom poms were a gift, but I am sure I wll make many more...
