Bufanda punto brioche / Brioche stitch scarf

 

Hace unas semanas os hablaba aquí de cómo, después haber aprendido a tejer punto brioche, había encontrado el proyecto perfecto para unos ovillos multicolores y ha llegado el momento de enseñaros el resultado.

En realidad no se trata de ningún patrón súper elaborado sino que es una simple bufanda tejida con punto brioche de principio a fin pero me parece que es la forma perfecta de resaltar el colorido de las madejas de Katia Inca  que tanto me llamaron la atención en Tricotoki  hace ya unos años.

Por un lado, me gusta mucho el diseño que se va formando al tejer la lana pero, además, el punto brioche se ve igual por el derecho que por el revés con lo cual me parece el tipo de punto más apropiado para tejer una bufanda, ya que es una prenda en la que siempre se acaban viendo las dos caras.

Todavía no la he estrenado y en este momento no me importaría que volviera a nevar porque me parece la bufanda perfecta para pasear en un día de nieve.

A couple of  weeks ago I told you here how, after learning how to knit brioche stitch, I had found the perfect project for some multicoloured skeins and it is the moment to show you the result.

Actually it is not about a very intricated pattern but a simple scarf knitted in brioche stitch from beginning to end but I think it is the perfect way to highlight the colour of the skeins from  Katia Inca which really caught my attention at  Tricotoki several years ago already.

On the one hand, I like a lot the design created after knitting the yarn but, in addition, brioche stitch looks the same in right and wrong sides so I think it is the most suitable stitch to knit a scarf, as it is a garment where we always show both sides.

I haven't wore it yet and at this moment I wouldn't mind if started snowing again because I think it is the perfect scarf for a walk on a snow day.

Garter Earflap Hat

Uno de los principales motivos por los que empecé a tejer es que quería hacer todos los proyectos de Purl Soho  y de vez en cuando reduzco un poco la lista haciendo alguno de sus maravillosos patrones.

Entre todas sus diseños mis favoritos son los de bebés así que cuando este invierno he tenido que tejer un gorrito de lana para un bebé el patrón "Garter Earflap Hat"  fue una de las primeras ideas que me vino a la cabeza.

La primera vez que tejí este gorrito fue para mi sobrina hace unos años y, aunque me gustó mucho cómo quedó entonces, en esta ocasión he cambiado un poco la versión utilizando unos ovillos de Katia Basic Merino  que tenía en mi "stash" y sustituyendo la borla por un pompón en color rojo, a petición de la mami del pequeñín.

La verdad es que tenía este patrón un poco en el olvido pero seguramente lo repetiré porque me parece el regalo perfecto para un bebé.

One of the main reasons why I started knitting is that I wanted to make all the projects from  Purl Soho and once in a while I cut down on the list by making one of their wonderful patterns.

Among all of their designs my favorites are the ones for babies so when this winter I had to knit a wool hat for a baby  "Garter Earflap Hat" pattern was one of the first ideas that came to my mind.

The first time I knitted this hat was for my niece some years ago and, although I liked a lot how it resulted then, in this occasion I changed the version a little bit by using some Katia Basic Merino skeins I had on my stash and by substituting the tassel for a red coloured pom pom, upon request of the mom of the ittle baby.

The truth is I had almost forgotten about this pattern but I will repeat for sure as I think it is the perfect gift for a baby.

La brassière raglan

Después de un pequeño descanso del blog, vuelvo con un conjunto para bebé que hice a principios de enero.

Ya sabéis que me encanta tejer para los más pequeños y me gusta hacer cosas diferentes cada vez  así que en esta ocasión recurrí a mi biblioteca de libros "craft" y recuperé el libro "Tricots Intemporels pour bébés" de Astrid Le Provost  que está lleno de ideas preciosas para tejer en pequeñito. 

Entre todos los patrones escogí "La brassière raglan" (un jersey muy sencillito pero con un corte muy bonito) y "Les petites bottes en alpaga", que ya tejí para este conjunto de bebé rosa. 

El conjunto era para una niña, así que para hacerlo un poco diferente utilicé la lana Katia Basic Merino  en azúl grisáceo que es un color que me gusta mucho y que me parece que queda muy bien con tonos grises.

After a short break from the blog, I am back with a baby outfit I made at the beginning of January.

You already know that I love knitting for the little ones and that I like to make different things each time so on this occasion I went to my craft books libray and I took the book "Tricots Intemporels pour bébés" by Astrid Le Provost which is full of beautiful ideas for tiny knitting.

Among all the patterns I chose " La brassière raglan" (a very simple sweater with a really nice cut) and " Les petites bottes en alpaga", which I already knitted for this pink baby outfit.

The outfit was for a baby girl, so to make it a lit bit different I used  Katia Basic Merino yarn in grey blue that is a colour I like a lot and I think matches perfectly with grey tones.

DIY - ZigZag Cowl

Escribí el patrón del ZigZag Cowl para presentarlo en el Katia Designers Award y como al final no fue uno de los diseños seleccionados he decidido compartirlo en el blog.

Es un proyecto muy sencillo, con puntos muy básicos y pensado para tejerlo con agujas circulares para que quienes todavía no las han probado les quiten el miedo. Sin embargo también tiene un toque original ya que la combinación de puntos da lugar a un resultado con pliegues un poco inesperado.

I wrote the ZigZag Cowl pattern to submit it to Katia Designers Award and as in the end it wasn't one of the selected designs I've decided to share it on the blog.

It is a very easy project, with basic stitches and thought to be knitted with circular needles so those who haven't proved them yet can overcome their fear. However it also has an original touch as the combination of stitches results in some unexpected pleats.

INSTRUCCIONES

Lana: Katia Azteca (o cualquier lana de características similares) - aproximadamente 50 gr.

Agujas: Agujas circulares de 5,5 mm y 40 cm de diámetro

Puntos utilizados: Punto del derecho y punto del revés

Pasos:

• Montar 84 puntos y unir para empezar a tejer en circular
• Tejer una vuelta del revés
• Repetir el siguiente diagrama 7 veces por vuelta durante 46 vueltas, tejiendo un punto del derecho cuando el recuadro esté en blanco y un punto del revés cuando el recuadro contenga una X

• Tejer una vuelta del revés
• Cerrar todos los puntos, cortar la hebra y rematar escondiendo la lana que sobra

INSTRUCTIONS

Yarn: Katia Azteca (or any other yarn with similar characteristics) - approximately 50 gr.

Needles: 5,5 mm / US 9 and 40 cm / 16 inches length circular needles

Sitches used: Knit and Purl

Steps:

• Cast on 84 stitches and join to start knitting in the round
• Purl one row
• Repeat the following scheme 7 times per row during 46 rounds, making one knit stitch when the box is empty and one purl stitch when the box contains and X

• Purl one row
• Cast off all the stitches, cut the yarn and finish hiding the remaining wool

Creo que estoy perdiendo la batalla contra mi stash...

Ayer estuve pasando el día en Bilbao y aproveché para visitar Tricotoki una tienda y centro craft que tenía muchas ganas de conocer y no pude resistir la tentación y acabé comprando cinco ovillos maravillosos de lana Katia.

En cierto modo tengo justificación porque normalmente todas mis compras laneras las hago por Internet (donde vivo no encuentro más que cosas muy básicas) así que comprar en una tienda física es una oportunidad de ver, tocar y curiosear entre ovillos y no puedo desaprovechar la ocasión.

De hecho en cuanto pueda tengo que volver a Tricotoki para hacer una visita más a fondo.

Voy a ver si tejiendo un poco se me pasa el sentimiento de culpabilidad...

I think I am losing the battle against my stash...

Yesterday I spent the day in Bilbao and I took the opportunity to visiting  Tricotoki a craft shop and atelier which I've been wanting to know so hard and I couldn't resist the temptation and I ended up buying five beautiful balls of  Katia yarn.

Somehow I have an excuse because I usually make all my knitting purchases via Internet (where I live I can only find very basic things) so buying in a physical store is an opportunity to watch, touch and nose around among balls of yarn and I cannot miss the chance.

In fact as soon as I can I have to come back to Tricotoki for a more in depth visit.

I will see if knitting a little bit I can make my guilty feeling pass...

DIY - Cuello de lana / Wool Snood

El año pasado en Navidad tejí unos cuellos de lana que tuvieron mucho éxito en mi cuenta de Instagram así que me ha parecido buena idea compartir las instrucciones por si hay alguien que quiera tejerlo.

Es un proyecto muy sencillo pero a mí me gusta mucho como queda porque resulta un cuello de lana muy fácil de llevar con todo.

Esta vez he utilizado unos ovillos de Katia Tirol que tenía en mi reserva en color amarillo mostaza un color que me tiene totalmente enamorada y que me parece que da un toque muy alegre en los días de frío.

Podéis encontrar la información con las instrucciones y los materiales necesarios debajo de las fotos.

Espero que alguien se anime a tejerlo y, por supuesto, que me enseñéis el resultado.

Last year I knitted some wool snoods for Christmas that were very successful on my Instagram account so I find it is a good idea to share the instruccions in case anyone wants to knit it.

It is a very easy project but I like a lot how it looks because it is a wool snood that can be easily worn.

This time I've used some Katia Tirol balls I had on my stash in mustard yellow a colour I am totally in love with and which I find it adds a bright touch in cold days.

You can find all the information with the instructions and necessary materials below the pictures.

I hope someone is inspired to knit it and, of course, that you will show me the result.

INSTRUCCIONES

Lana: Katia Tirol (o cualquier lana de características similares) - 200 gr.

Agujas: Agujas rectas de 8mm y una aguja lanera

Puntos utilizados: Punto bobo

Pasos:

• Montar 34 puntos
• Tejer en punto bobo durante 300 vueltas o las vueltas necesarias para alcanzar la medida que os guste
• Cerrar todos los puntos
• Unir los dos extremos para formar el cuello

INSTRUCTIONS

Yarn: Katia Tirol (or any other yarn with similar characteristics) - 200 gr.

Needles: 8mm / 11 US straight needles and one wool sewing needle

Sitches used: Garter stitch

Steps:

• Cast on 34 stitches
• Knit 300 rounds in garter stitch or as many rounds as you need to reach the measure you like
• Cast off all the stitches
• Join both ends to form the snood

Mi primer proyecto del recién estrenado otoño es un cuello de lana muy sencillo pero que tenía muchas ganas de hacer principalmente porque tenía los ovillos guardados desde hace casi dos años (primer paso de mi operación "vaciando stash").

Además el color de la lana es amarillo mostaza (uno de mis favoritos) así que la ilusión por terminarlo es doble.

La semana que viene os enseñaré el resultado y no os lo podéis perder porque también os indicaré las instrucciones para que lo hagáis vosotros/as.

My first project of the brand new autumn is a very easy wool snood but I've been looking forward to making it a lot mainly because I have keep the skeins for almost two years (first step of my "reducing stash" operation).

In addition the colour of the wool is mustard yellow (one of my favorites) so the excitement to finish it is double.

Bienvenido Otoño / Welcome Autumn

Estoy segura de que muchas tejedoras compartirán conmigo la alegría por la llegada del otoño y es que el verano está genial pero no hay nada como las tardes de otoño para tejer y fantasear con gorros y bufandas super calentitos.

En mi cesta de labores todavía hay algunos proyectos del año pasado sin terminar así que empiezo la temporada con cierta ventaja aunque también tengo muchas ideas nuevas que espero poder ir haciendo poco a poco.

Espero que disfrutéis del otoño y de montones de ovillos de lana...


I am sure that many knitters will share with me the joy for the arrival of Autumn  because Summer is great but there is nothing like autumn afternoons to knit and daydream about super warm hats and scarfs.

There are still some unfinished projects from last year on my knitting basket so I am starting this season with a little advantage although I also have a lot of new ideas that I hope to be able to make little by little.

I hope you will enjoy autumn and lots of balls of wool too...
