Viaje a Laponia / Trip to Lapland

Estos días he estado compartiendo en mi cuenta de Instagram  algunas fotos de mi último viaje, una experiencia increíble en la región de Laponia en Finlandia.

Seguramente lo primero que os viene a la cabeza es nieve, renos y Papá Noel y, obviamente, hubo todo eso pero también unos paisajes preciosos con una luz mágica, que duraba poco tiempo cada día pero que era una auténtica maravilla.

Resumiendo os puedo contar que he aprendido a pescar en un lago helado, he paseado en moto de nieve, he recorrido bosques nevados en un trineo tirado por huskies, he descubierto que los renos son uno de mis nuevos animales favoritos y... me he contagiado del espíritu navideño más auténtico visitando la casa de Joulupukki.

Nunca hubiera imaginado que un destino tan invernal fuera para mí porque no me gusta nada el frío y ni siquiera sé esquiar, pero este es uno de esos viajes que merece la pena hacer.


These days I've been sharing on my  Instagram account some pictures of my latest trip, an amazing experience in Lapland region in Finland.

Probably the first thing that comes to your mind is snow, reindeers and Santa Claus and, obviously, all those things happened but also some beautiful landscapes with a magical light, that didn't last much each day but which was a real wonder.

In a few words I can tell you that I have learned to fish on an iced lake,I have ride a snowmobile, I have gone through snow-covered forests on a sledge guided by huskies, I have discovered that reindeers are one of my new favorite animals and... I've been overwhelmed by the most authentic Christmas joy visiting the house of   Joulupukki.

I had never imagined that such a winter destination could be my thing because I don't like cold weather at all and I can't even ski, but this is one of those trips worth making.

De compras en Ginebra - Le Rouet

En la planificación de mi viaje a Ginebra no podía faltar una tienda de lanas pero, para mi sorpresa, no parece que haya una comunidad tejedora muy activa en la ciudad.

De hecho, sólo conseguí encontrar información sobre "Le Rouet", una mercería situada en el barrio de Carouge.

Desgraciadamente, cuando visité esta zona de Ginebra era domingo así que como era de esperar la tienda estaba cerrada pero aún así me acerqué a echar un vistazo.

Por lo que pude ver a través del escaparate, la tienda es bastante grande y tienen mucha variedad de ovillos de marcas como Katia, Phildar, Lang... así como libros y artículos de mercería.

No os puedo contar mucho más, pero si alguna vez vuelvo a Ginebra intentaré visitar la tienda de verdad.

P.D: Siento mucho que la calidad de las fotos sea tan mala...


When planning my trip to Geneva I couldn't miss a yarn shop but, surprisingly, it seems that there is not a very active knitting community in the city.

In fact, I only could find information about  "Le Rouet", a haberdashery located in Carouge neighbourhood.

Unfortunately, I visited this area of Geneva on a sunday so just as I had expected the shop was closed but even so I came over to take a look.

From what I was able to see through the window, the shop is quite big and they have a wide range of yarn of brands such as  Katia, Phildar, Lang... as well as books and haberdashery items.

I can't tell you much more but if I ever go to Geneva again I will try to visit the shop for real.

Happy (Halloween) Weekend

Ya sabéis que lo que más me gusta de Halloween  son las calabazas y la decoración otoñal, así que aprovecho esta foto de una pastelería que hice durante mi viaje a Ginebra para celebrar que este fin de semana es un poquito más largo.

Viaje a Ginebra / Trip to Geneva

Como ya os he adelantado por Instagram , en octubre he hecho una escapada de otoño a Ginebra.

El viaje surgió casi por casualidad porque no era un destino que tuviera en mente pero al final ha resultado ser un gran descubrimiento y he intentado no perderme nada.

He paseado por el Parc des Bastions con sus tableros de ajedrez gigantes; he recorrido la Vielle Ville callejeando por sus rincones llenos de encanto y no ha faltado la visita a la catedral de Saint Pierre  y subir los 157 escalones de la torre norte para disfrutar de las vistas.

Me ha encantado pasear por el precioso barrio de Carouge y por la orilla del lago Leman sin perder de vista el famoso Jet d'Eau y llegar hasta Bains des Pâquis para disfrutar de su tranquilidad y de su hipnótico faro, sin duda mi zona favorita de la ciudad.

También he aprovechado los invernaderos del Jardín Botánico para refugiarme de la lluvia y he descubierto que, incluso aunque no pare de llover, Nyon  es un pueblo de cuento al borde del lago Leman.

Estoy segura de que no será la única vez que visite esta maravillosa ciudad...

As I have already told you in advance by  Instagram, in October I have made an autumn trip to Geneva. 

The trip came up almost by chance as it wasn't a destination I had on my mind but in the end it was a great find and I tried not to miss anything.

I walked accros de Parc des Bastions with its huge chess boards; I went accross the  Vielle Ville wandering through its charming spots and I couldn't miss visiting  Saint Pierres's Cathedral and walking up the 157 steps of the North tower to enjoy the view.

I loved going for a walk through the beautiful neighborhood of  Carouge and along the side of the  Leman lake always keeping and eye on the  famous Jet d'Eau and arriving to  Bain des Pâquis to enjoy its peacefulness and its hipnotic lighthouse, my favorite part of the city for sure.

I have also made the most of the greenhouses of the Botanic Garde to take shelter from the rain and I have discovered that, even if it doesn't stop raining, Nyon is a fairy tale village at the side of Leman lake.

I am sure that this won't be the only time I visit this wonderful city...

Mis tiendas favoritas de Etsy / My favorite Etsy shops #8 - Helena Carrington

Hace tiempo que no escribo sobre mis tiendas favoritas de Etsy así que, con las vacaciones de verano todavía frescas en mi cabeza, me parece el momento perfecto para hablar de las preciosas ilustraciones de Helena Carrington.

La temática de sus dibujos son fachadas de edificios representativos de distintas ciudades realizados con tantos detalles que casi podrían servir para jugar a adivinar de qué lugar se trata. 

Como buena enamorada de los viajes y la papelería que soy, me parecen la combinación perfecta para tener un buen recuerdo de las ciudades que más me han gustado.

Todavía no he comprado ninguna pero ya he escogido mis ilustraciones favoritas y seguro que no tardo mucho en tenerlas colgadas en mi casa.

I haven't written about my favorite Etsy shops for a while so, with summer holidays still fresh on my mind, I think it is the perfect moment to talk about  Helena Carrington's beautiful illustrations.

The thematic of her designs are representative building facades from different cities done with so many details that they could almost be used as a "which place it is" guessing game.

As the good traveling and stationery lover I am, I find them the perfect combo to have a nice souvenir from the cities I have liked the most.

I still haven't bought any of them but I have already chosen my favorite prints and I am sure it won't take me too much time to have them hanging in my house.

Viaje a Sicilia / Trip to Sicily

Si me seguís por Instagram  ya sabréis que hace unas semanas estuve de vacaciones en Sicilia, disfrutando de unos días de descanso y descubriendo sitios nuevos.

En realidad no era mi primera vez en la isla así que en esta ocasión la idea era visitar el noroeste ya que, a excepción de Palermo, era una zona totalmente nueva para mí.

Como de costumbre tenía el viaje totalmente planificado para no perderme nada: visitas a pueblecitos preciosos como Trapani,  Marsala, Mazara del Vallo y Monreale ; una escapada a la maravillosa isla de Favignana ; relax en las playas de Cefalù, San Vito lo Capo, Scopello y Castellammare del Golfo ; y, no podía faltar, el caos encantador de Palermo.

Todo esto acompañado de una gastronomía (y repostería) increíbles que dan para un capítulo aparte, así que os podéis hacer una idea de cuánto he disfrutado las vacaciones.

If you follow me on  Instagram you will already know that a couple of weeks ago I was in Sicily for holidays, enjoying some relax days and discovering new places.

Actually it wasn't my first time on the island so on this occasion the idea was to visit the Northwest as, except from Palermo, it was a totally new zone for me.

As usual I had planned the trip in detail in order not to miss anything: visits to beautiful small villages such as Trapani, Marsala, Mazara del Vallo and  Monreale; a getaway to wonderful  Favignana island; relax in Cefalù, San Vito lo Capo, Scopello and  Castellammare del Golfo beaches; and, we couldn't miss, the charming chaos of  Palermo.

All this accompanied by an awesome gastronomy (and bakery) which could have a whole chapter themselves, so you can get an idea of how much I have enjoyed the holidays.
