De compras en Nueva York / Shopping in New York - Purl Soho

He soñado con visitar Purl Soho desde que empecé a tejer. De hecho, aprendí a tejer porque quería hacer todos los patrones e ideas que veía en su Web.

Así que en mi viaje a Nueva York era visita obligada y una vez que estuve allí casi no podía creérmelo. Allí estaban su mural decorado con telas Liberty  en aros de bordar, sus estanterías llenas de madejas de colores, sus kits de labores...

Si por mi fuera me hubiera pasado todo el día en la tienda, viendo con calma cada madeja, tela, libro... y decidiendo qué comprar pero como no viajaba sola no podía ser. Así que en base a mi experiencia en otros viajes (en los que he visitado tiendas que me encantan sin ser capaz de decidir qué comprar) hice los "deberes" antes del viaje y preparé mi lista de la compra con antelación.

Puede parecer una tontería, pero a mí me resulta muy práctico. Por un lado tengo un montón de ovillos sin utilizar en casa y por otro no tengo mucho tiempo para tejer, así que no me apetecía comprar algo que se fuera a quedar almacenado indefinidamente. Por eso unos días antes del viaje eché un vistazo a su página, decidí qué diseño iba a hacer y anoté qué es lo que tenía que comprar y creo que es lo mejor que pude hacer.

Para ser sincera tenía claro desde el principio que iba a comprar algo de Knit Collage porque sus hilos son mis favoritos porque son muy especiales y aquí no es fácil encontrarlos así que tal y como era de esperar... una maravillosa madeja de Wanderlust se vino conmigo desde Nueva York y se va a transformar en algo muy muy chulo que además se teje súper rápido.

Eso sí, si algún día vuelvo intentaré escaparme sola para dedicar todo el tiempo del mundo a curiosear por la tienda...

I've dreamed of visiting Purl Soho since I started knitting. In fact, I learned to knit because I wanted to make all the patterns and ideas I saw on their Web.

So on my trip to New York it was a must visit and once I was there I couldn't really believe it. There they were their wall decorated with Liberty fabrics on embroidery hoops, their shelves full of colour skeins, their crafts kits...

If it was up to me I would have spent the whole day in the shop, calmly looking at each skein, fabric, book... and choosing what to buy but as I was not traveling alone it couldn't be. So basing on my experience from previous trips (where I have visited shops I love without being able to decide what to buy) I made my "homework" before the trip and I prepared a shopping list in advance.

It may seem a little bit silly, but for me it is really practical. On the one hand I have a lot of  unused balls at home and on the other hand I don't have much time to knit, so I didn't want to buy something that was going to be stashed indefinetely. That's why a couple of days before the trip I took a look at their Web, I decided what design to make and I wrote down what I had to buy and I think it was the best thing I could do.

To be honest I was quite sure since the beginning that I was going to buy something from  Knit Collage as their yarns are my favourites because they are very special and in Spain it is not easy to find them so as it was to expect... a wonderful skein of  Wanderlust came with  me from New York and it is going to become something really really cool which is also knitted very fast.

For sure, if I ever come back I will try to escape alone to spend as much time as I can nosing around the shop...

Bienvenido Otoño / Welcome Autumn

Hoy empieza la estación favorita de las tejedoras y este año me apetece disfrutar de un otoño con mucho color y estoy segura  de que no soy la única que está ya pensando en todo lo que le gustaría tejer.

¿Habéis empezado ya con vuestra planificación?

Yo, como todos los años, tengo un montón de ideas de proyectos en mi lista. La verdad es que no creo que me dé tiempo a hacerlos todos así que mi intención es dar prioridad a mis proyectos en curso. Aunque también me gustaría darme algún capricho con algunos proyectos rápidos de hacer...

De cualquier manera, estoy encantada con empezar una nueva estación y, tejedores/as o no, espero que disfrutéis mucho de todas las cosas buenas del otoño.

P.D: Mi otoño en color mostaza y uno y dos proyectos pendientes de terminar...


Today starts knitter's favorite season and this year I am in the mood for enjoying a very colourful autumn and I am sure that I am not the only one who is already thinking about all the things I would like to knit.

Have you started with your planning yet?

As every year, I have lots of project ideas on my list. To tell the truth, I don't think I will have time to finish all of them so my intention is to give priority to my ongoing projects. However I would also like to treat myself with some quick to make projects...

Anyhow, I am very happy with the start of a new season and, knitters or not,I hope that you enjoy a lot all the good things about autumn.

P.S: My mustard coloured autumn and one and two projects waiting to be finished...

Happy (Crafting) Weekend

En los próximos días no voy a tener mucho tiempo para tejer y me da un poco de pena pero tampoco puedo quejarme porque es por una buena causa.

La semana que viene os cuento todo, mientras tanto os deseo un feliz fin de semana :)

During the following days I won't have much time to knit and I feel a little bit sad but I can't complain becasue it is for a good reason.

De compras en Londres / Shopping in London: Rowan

Después de mi visita frustrada a Loop no podía volver de Londres sin comprar nada de lana, así que cuando visité Liberty  me dí un pequeño capricho comprando unos ovillos de Rowan.

Tenía muy claro para qué los iba a utilizar por lo que la elección no fue difícil, Rowan Cocoon una mezcla de lana y mohair super agradable al tacto y muy calentita.

Por ahora sólo puedo deciros que la voy a utilizar para un proyecto muy chulo, ya os iré contando...

After my fruitless visit to  Loop I couldn't come back from London without buying any yarn, so when I visited Liberty I treated myself buying some Rowan skeins.

I had very clear what I was going to make with them so the choice was not difficult at all, Rowan Cocoon a mix of wool and mohair super nice to touch and very warm.

By now I can only tell you that I am going to use them for a very cool project, I will keep you informed...

De compras en Londres / Shopping in London - Liberty of London

Ya sabéis que soy una fan total de Liberty y sus estampados, así que en mi viaje a Londres no podía faltar una visita a su tienda.

Aunque me hubiera encantado comprar un montón de cosas, decidí ser práctica y centrarme en dos de sus secciones: papelería y mercería.

La papelería es uno de mis debilidades y, aunque en realidad iba buscando unos lapiceros del estilo del que os enseñé aquí, no pude resistirme a comprar un set de tres cuadernos con uno estampados preciosos.

La sección de mercería era visita obligada así que estuve un buen rato curioseando entre las cosas que había.

Mi intención erar comprar alguna de sus telas, en concreto el modelo Betsy de Tana Lawn que es uno de mis favoritos, pero no tenía muy claro qué hacer con ella así que al final me decanté por un kit de costura para hacer un monedero y un neceser con mi adorada tela Betsy.

La idea del kit me pareció un opción genial, así que compré también un kit para hacer un broche, esta vez con el modelo Poppy and Daisy también de Tana Lawn.

En mi caso tener un proyecto concreto en el que utilizar las telas me facilita mucho las cosas, porque siempre me parecen tan bonitas que me da pena usarlas y acaban almacenadas en la estantería.

You already know that I am a great fan of  Liberty and their patterns, so in my trip to London I couldn't miss visiting their shop.

Although I would have loved to buy a lot of things, I decided to be practical and to focus only in two of their sections: stationery and haberdashery.

Stationery is one of my weaknesses so, eventhough I was only looking for some pencils similar to the one I showed you here, I couldn't resist buying a set of three beautiful pattern notebooks.

Haberdashery section was an obliged visit so I spent a while browsing among all the things there.

My intention was to buy some of their fabrics, more specifically  Betsy Tana Lawn design which is one of my favorites, but I wasn't very sure about what to do with it so I finally chose a make up and coin purse sewing kit with my beloved  Betsy fabric.

I found the kit a great idea, so I also bought a fabric corsage kit, this time with the Poppy and Daisy Tana Lawn design.

Having an specific project for the fabric is much easier for me because I always find them so beautiful that I feel sad to use them, so I end stocking them on my stash.

Viaje a Londres / Trip to London

Si me seguis por Instagram habréis visto que he estado unos días en Londres (mi última pera Pirum Parum  ya os daba una pista aquí).

Hemos estado poco tiempo, pero hemos aprovechado el tiempo al máximo y hemos podido recorrer los lugares más característicos, visitar algunos museos y hacer compras (aunque no todas las que tenía planeadas...). 

Mientras recupero el ritmo y me acostumbro a la rutina de nuevo os dejo con unas fotos de mi viaje y prometo más entradas sobre mis compras londinenses pronto...

If you follow me on  Instagram you will have seen that I've spent a few days in London (my last Pirum Parum pear already gave you a clue here).

We have been there only for a short time, but we have made the most of the time we had so we have gone through the most characteristic places, visited a couple of museums and done some shopping (although not all the shopping I have planned...).

While I get back in pace and I get used to routine again I show you some pictures of my trip and I promise some more posts about my London shopping soon...

Inspiración / Inspiration: Orange

La semana pasada no he podido dedicarle mucho tiempo al blog (de ahí que sólo haya  publicado un post), pero incluso cuando no estoy aquí sigo buscando nuevas ideas y esta es una de esas veces que por casualidad he descubierto algo maravilloso, las creaciones de Orange.

En realidad no puedo contaros mucho porque su página está en japonés (creo...) y no entiendo nada, pero me encantan sus creaciones mezcla de ganchillo y telas Liberty.

Os dejo unas fotos con las ideas que más me han gustado, mientras sigo investigando a ver si descubro algo más.


Last week I didn't have enough time to work on the blog (that's why I've only published one post), but even when I'm not here I keep looking for new ideas and this time, by chance, I found something wonderful, Orange's creations.

In reality I can't tell you many things about it because the web is in Japanese (I guess...) and I don't understand a word, but I love his/her creations mixing crochet and Liberty fabrics.

I show you some pictures with the ideas I liked the most, while I continue investigating to see whether I can find out something else.

Cosas que me gustan / Things I like # 18 - "Bonjour Tendresse" Cache Coeur

Ya sabéis que me encanta la ropa de bebé, sobre todo si se trata de una chaqueta de punto y una blusa de tela Liberty tan bonitos como este conjunto hecho por Blanche-Neige. 

Me parece una propuesta perfecta para salir de los clásicos colores neutros y pastel de la ropa de bebé, sin dejar de ser una auténtica monada.

Si os quedáis con ganas de ver más cosas bonitas, en su perfil de Ravelry  podéis encontrar una braguita y unos patucos a juego que os van a encantar.

You already know that I love baby clothing, specially if it is a pretty knitted cardigan and a Liberty shirt as this ensemble made by  Blanche-Neige.

I think it is the perfect idea to avoid classic neutral and pale colours of baby clothing, while being really cute.

Mis DIY favoritos / My favorite DIYs #11 - Liberty Baby Bibs

Realmente este es uno de mis DIY favoritos (es la tercera vez que aparece en el blog), así que tenía que hacer unos  Liberty Baby Bibs  de Purl Bee  para Nora.

Me gusta elegir siempre telas con estampados muy alegres y coloridos para que sean diferentes a los baberos que se ven normalmente.

¿No os parece un regalo muy práctico y bonito?

This is really one of my favorite DIYs (it's the third time I talk about it on the blog), so I had to make some  Purl Bee  Liberty Baby Bibs   for Nora.

I always like to choose very lively and colourful pattern fabrics so the bibs are different to normal bibs.

Don't you think it is a very practical and nice gift?
