La sirenita "Coral" / "Coral" the little mermaid

 

Todos los años hago algún muñeco de amigurumi  para el cumpleaños de mi sobrina y, aunque este año no he podido dárselo en la fecha que correspondía, no he faltado a mi tradición.

Hasta el momento ha habido un poco de todo: una Peppa Pig , una muñequita Gorjuss , un unicornio Robin  y un osito panda circense así que tenía que buscar un diseño que estuviera a la altura de los anteriores. 

Una vez más la solución me la dio Instagram  cuando vi una foto de la sirenita "Coral " diseñada por La Crocheteria Design  y en seguida me di cuenta de que era el proyecto perfecto porque iba a poder utilizar muchos hilos con brillos que es lo que más le gusta a mi sobrina.

Tal y como imaginaba, la sirenita "Coral" ha resultado ser un gran éxito y ha sido muy bien recibida en su nueva loca familia de amigurumis.

Every year a make an amigurumi puppet for my niece's birthday and, although this year I couldn't give it to her in the corresponding date, I didn't miss my tradition.

Until the moment there has been a little bit of everything: a Peppa Pig, a Gorjuss doll, a Robin unicorn and a circus panda bear so I had to find a design at the same level as the precedings.

Once more I found the solution on  Instagram when I saw a picture of  "Coral" the mermaid designed by  La Crocheteria Design and I suddenly realised that it was the perfect project because I could use different lurex cotton yarns which is what my niece likes the most.

As I imagined, "Coral" the little mermaid was a great success and it has been very well accepted in her new crazy family of amigurumis.

LuiPanda amigurumi

Siguiendo con mi tradición, este año para el cumpleaños de mi sobrina Nora he hecho un amigurumi  para que lo añada a su colección.

En esta ocasión, el diseño que he escogido ha sido el osito "LuiPanda"  de Mr. O'Lui  que es uno de mis patrones de amigurumi  favoritos y, de hecho, éste sería el tercer panda que he hecho hasta el momento.

Para hacerlo un poco diferente a los anteriores, he utilizado un hilo con brillo para hacer el gorrito y el cuello y la verdad es que me gusta mucho cómo ha quedado, le da un aire como más alegre.

No os voy a negar que me encanta elegir ideas para hacer para mi sobrina y ya estoy pensando cuál va a ser el próximo amigurumi  que haga para ella...

Following with my tradition, this year for the birthday of my niece Nora I have made an amigurumi so she can add it to her collection.

In this occasion, the design I have chosen was  Mr. O'Lui's "LuiPanda" bear which is one of my favorite  amigurumi patterns and, actually, this is the third panda I have made so far.

To make it a little bit different to the previous ones, I have used a yarn with metallic sheen for the hat and the collar and the truth is I like the result a lot, it looks more cheerful.

I won't deny that I love choosing ideas to make for my niece and I am already thinking about the next  amigurumi I will make for her...

Dumbo amigurumi

La última vez que hice algo para mi sobrina fue el unicornio Robin  de Picapau  que le regalé por su cumpleaños y este verano fue ella quien me pidió expresamente que le hiciera un Dumbo de amigurumi  después de ver la película.

Obviamente no podía negarme, aunque normalmente suelo tener dudas cuando se trata de personajes conocidos ya que si el resultado no se parece al original puede ser un desastre total...

Por suerte, encontré un patrón gratuito de Dumbo  de Amigurumies  que me dio bastante confianza en que la cosa podía salir bien así que acepté el reto encantada.

Al final, el resultado fue todo un éxito y mi sobrina está feliz con su mini Dumbo  de amigurumi así que sólo espero que la próxima vez no ponga el listón muy alto...

The last time I made something for my niece it was  Picapau's Robin unicorn which I gave her on her birthday and this summer it was her who expressly asked me to make her a  Dumbo amigurumi after watching the film.

Obviously I couldn't say no, although I usually have some doubts when it comes to known characters as if the result doesn't look like the original it can be a complete disaster...

Luckily, I found a free  Dumbo pattern by  Amigurumies which gave me enough confidence to think that it could end well so I was pleased to accept de challenge.

In the end, the result was a great succes and my niece is happy with her mini amigurumi  Dumbo so I can only hope that next time she won't set the bar very high...

Robin Unicornio / Robin Unicorn

Como cada año, el cumpleaños de mi sobrina Nora es la excusa perfecta para hacer algo especial y disfruto muchísimo porque me encanta elegir la idea y llevarla a cabo de principio a fin.

Desde que compré el libro de Pica-pau  tenía muy claro lo que quería hacer y es que no se me ocurre mejor regalo para una niña de cinco años que un unicornio de amigurumi . Cuando se lo dí me encantó ver su cara al sacarlo del papel de regalo y cómo lo acariciaba como si fuera un animalito de verdad...

Creo que es uno de los amigurumi más bonitos que he hecho hasta la fecha y me encanta que "Robin unicornio" de Pica-pau  haya sido el primer proyecto que he terminado este año y estoy segura de que no será el único de sus patrones que haga.

P.D: Más regalos para Nora

As every year, the birthday of my niece Nora is the perfect excuse to make something special and I enjoy it a lot because I love choosing the idea and making it from beginning to end.

Since I bought  Pica-pau's book I was sure what I wanted to make as I can't find a better gift for a five year old girl than an  amigurumi unicorn. When I gave it to her I loved seeing her face when she pulled it out from the gift wrap and how she caressed it as it was really a little animal...

I think it is one of the most beautiful  amigurumi I have made so far and I love that "Robin unicorn" by  Pica-pau is the first project I have finished this year and I am sure it won't be the only one of her patterns that I make.

Muñeca Gorjuss de amigurumi / Gorjuss amigurumi doll

Hace unos meses mi sobrina Nora me pidió que le hiciera una muñeca Gorjuss de amigurumi para su cumpleaños y escogió este modelo que os he enseñado en Instagram.

Para hacerla me he guiado por el patrón de "Mi Muñeca de Ganchillo"  así que no me ha resultado muy complicado ya que sólo he tenido que buscar un vestido y unos calcetines similares en el libro y hacerlos en los mismos colores que los de la muñeca Gorjuss.

Ahora esta muñequita está haciendo compañía a la Peppa Pig que le hice el año pasado.

Some months ago my niece Nora asked me to make her an amigurumi  Gorjuss doll for her birthday and she chose this design I showed you on  Instagram.

To make it I followed the pattern of  "My Crochet Doll" so it wasn't very difficult as I only had to look for a similar dress and socks in the book to make them in the same colours as those of the  Gorjuss  doll.

Now this little doll is making company to the  Peppa Pig I made her last year.

DIY - Mini Kids Cowl

Hace unas semanas os enseñé la Peppa Pig  de amigurumi que hice para mi sobrina por su cumple  pero además también le regalé un mini cuello de lana perfecto para los días de invierno.

El patrón no tiene ninguna dificultad así que he decidido compartirlo en el blog por si hay alguien que quiere hacerlo ya que me parece una prenda muy práctica para tejer para los más pequeños. 

Es el proyecto perfecto para quienes están empezando a tejer, fácil y rápido de terminar así que espero que lo disfrutéis.

A couple of weeks ago I showed you the amigurumi  Peppa Pig I made for my niece's birthday but I also gave her a mini wool cowl perfect for Winter days.

The pattern is not difficult at all so I've decided to share in the blog in case anyone wants to make it as it is a very practical garment to knit for the little ones.

It is the perfect project for beginners, easy and quick to finish so I hope you will enjoy it.

You can find all the information to make your own mini cowl underneath the pictures.

PATRÓN GRATUITO

Lana: 50 gr. de lana gruesa 6 mm en el color que más os guste

Agujas: Agujas rectas de 8 mm

Puntos utilizados: Punto del derecho

Pasos:

• Montar 35 puntos (esta medida está pensada para llevar el cuello doblado así que si queréis que quede sólo una capa tendréis que montar menos puntos)
• Tejer en punto bobo durante 80 vueltas o las vueltas necesarias para alcanzar la medida que os guste (yo hice el cuello para mi sobrina que cumplía 3 años así que podéis calcular la medida en base a esto)
• Cerrar todos los puntos
• Unir los dos extremos para formar el cuello

FREE PATTERN

Yarn: 50 gr. of US 8 / 6 mm bulky yarn in the colour you like the most

Needles: US 11 / 8 mm straight needles

Stitches used: Garter stitch

Steps:

• Cast on 35 stitches (this measure is thought to wear the cowl folded so if you want to use it only in one layer you will have to cast on less stiches)
• Knit 80 rounds in garter stitch or as many rounds as you need to reach the measure you like ( I made this cowl for my 3 years old niece so you can calculate the measure basing on this)
• Cast off all the stitches
• Join both ends to form the cowl

Peppa Pig amigurumi

Hace unas semanas fue el cumpleaños de mi sobrina Nora y uno de los regalos que le hice fue una Peppa Pig de amigurumi porque está en esa fase en la que le encanta todo lo relacionado con la famosa cerdita.

En Internet hay varios páginas con las instrucciones pero yo escogí el patrón de Taller de Maó porque me gustó mucho como quedaba Peppa en las fotos. Además el patrón es gratuito y eso siempre es de agradecer.

Mi sobrina se sorprendió mucho al ver a Peppa, pero le pareció que estaba muy sola así que ya me veo haciendo el resto de personajes...

A couple of weeks ago it was my niece's Nora birthday and one of the gifts I had for her was an amigurumi Peppa Pig because she is in that stage where she loves anything related to the famous little pig.

In the Internet you can find several sites with the instructions but I chose Taller de Maó pattern because I liked a lot how Peppa looked in the pictures. In addition the pattern is available for free and that is something to be thankful for (the pattern is written in Spanish only, sorry).

My niece was very surprised to see Peppa but she thought it was a little bit lonely so I guess I will end up making all the characters... 

Toddler Fingerless Gloves

En enero fue el segundo cumpleaños de mi sobrina Nora y, además de la muñequita Waldorf y otras cositas, le regalé unos mitones de ganchillo hechos por mí.

Tenía fichado el patrón "Toddler Fingerless Gloves" desde que descubrí a Crochet Latte y me quedé fascinada por sus originales diseños de ganchillo, así que estoy contenta de haber terminado un proyecto más de mi lista.

La verdad es que cada vez se me hace más difícil hacer ropa para mi sobrina porque me lleva bastante tiempo prepararla y no siempre es fácil acertar con la talla porque crece muy rápido, pero con los accesorios siempre es más fácil tener éxito y le pueden durar un poquito más.

In January it was the second birthday of my niece Nora and, in addition to the Waldorf doll and some other things, I gifted her a pair of crochet mittens made by me.

I had an eye on " Toddler Fingerless Gloves" pattern since I discovered Crochet Latte and remained fascinated by her original crochet patterns, so I am happy to have finished one more project from my list.

The truth is that it is becoming more difficult to make clothes for my niece because it takes me quite a long time to have it ready and it is not always easy to get the right size as she is growing up very fast, but with accessories it is easier to suceed and they can last a little bit longer.

Muñequitas Waldorf / Little Waldorf dolls

Últimamente no tengo mucho tiempo para visitar otros blogs pero antes era uno de mis pasatiempos favoritos y siempre descubría cosas interesantes.

Uno de estos descubrimientos fueron los juguetes y el Método Waldorf (hasta ese momento totalmente desconocidos para mí) que conocí gracias a las muñecas personalizadas que muchas mamás blogueras, sobre todo francesas, hacían a mano para sus hijas.

Desde entonces he visto muchas muñecas Waldorf pero ningunas tan bonitas como las que hace Eli "Pompom Chic" así que antes de Navidad le hice un encargo doble: una muñequita para regalar a mi sobrina Nora por su cumpleaños y otra para mí para alegrar la decoración de mi estudio de manualidades.

No os podéis imaginar lo bonitas que son y como Eli, que es una artista, cuida hasta el último detalle: el pelo, la ropa, los accesorios...

Igual mi sobrina es todavía un poco pequeña para apreciarla pero en poco tiempo seguro que juega mucho con ella.

Por lo que a mí me toca, yo estoy encantada con mi pequeña Waldorf de pelo rosa ♥ 

Lately I don't have much time to visit other blogs but before it was one of my favorite hobbies and I always discovered interesting things.

One of these discoveries were Waldorf toys and Method (until that moment completely unknown to me) which I knew thanks to the customised dolls that many blogger moms, specially French ones, made by hand for their daughters.

Since then I have seen many Waldorf dolls but none as pretty as the ones made by Eli "Pompom Chic" so before Christmas I placed a double order: a little doll to give to my niece Nora for her birthday and another one for me to lighten up the decoration of my crafts room.

You can't imagine how pretty they are and how Eli, who is an artist, takes care  of the smallest details: the hair, the clothes, the accesories...

Maybe my niece is still a little bit young to apreciate it but in little time I am sure she will play a lot with it.

As far as I am concerned, I am delighted with my little pink haired Waldorf  ♥

Bufanda y gorro para Nora / Scarf and hat for Nora

Últimamente no he tenido mucho tiempo para hacer cosas para mi sobrina pero en Navidad no podía faltar un gorrito y una bufanda para ella.

El conjunto que le hice el año pasado todavía le vale (aunque no creo que pase de este año) así que ya empieza a tener su pequeña colección de accesorios de invierno.

El punto de partida del conjunto era este modelo de bufanda de DROPS que es una bufanda cortita que se ajusta al cuello y es muy fácil de poner. 

Para elegir el gorro estuve buscando patrones en Ravelry y al final me decidí por el modelo Basic Hat Bel de Muki Crafts que me gusta como queda con la bufanda aunque no está tejido en el mismo punto.

Mi sobrina todavía es muy pequeña pero cuando abrió el paquete con su gorrito y bufanda se puso muy contenta así que parece que tengo una pequeña fan en la familia.


Lately I didn't have much tiem to make something for my niece but at Christmas I couldn't miss a hat and a scarf for her.

The set I made for her last year still fits her (eventhough I don't think it would last more than this year) so she has started to have her own little collection of winter accesories.

The starting point for the set was this scarf pattern by DROPS which is a short scarf that can be adjusted around the neck and is very easy to wear.

To choose the hat I searched for a pattern on Ravelry and I finally decided myself for Basic Hat Bel pattern by Muki Crafts which I like how it matches the scarf although it is not knitted in the same stitch.

My niece is still very small but when she opened the package with her little hat and scarf she was very happy so it seems I have a little fan in the family.

Chaqueta de verano para Nora / Summer cardigan for Nora

A pesar de que  este verano he estado un  poco liada he sacado tiempo para hacer una chaqueta de punto para mi sobrina.

He seguido un patrón de Phildar  que en el catálogo hace juego con este vestidito que le hice el año pasado, aunque vistas así cada prenda por su lado y en tamaños diferentes parece que no tienen nada que ver la una con la otra.

El algodón que he utilizado para tejer la chaqueta es DROPS Safran en color rojo cobrizo y me encanta porque tiene un tono muy bonito y muy favorecedor.

Mi sobrina está muy guapa con la chaqueta aunque crece tan rápido que las cosas que le hago sólo le duran un par de meses...

Even though I've been quite busy this summer I have found some time to make a knitted cardigan for my niece.

I followed a Phildar  pattern that in their catalogue matches this little dress I made for her last year, although looking at each garment separately and in different sizes it seems like they have nothing in common one with another.

The cotton I used to knit the cardigan is  DROPS Safran in rust red and I love it because it has a beautiful shade and it is really fetching.

My niece looks very pretty with the cardigan although she grows so quickly that the things I make for her only last a couple of months...

Baby Room Decor

Siempre me ha gustado la decoración pero las habitaciones de los niños son mi debilidad, no me canso de mirar fotos en Pinterest de los pequeños mundos creados para ellos.

Por ahora la única habitación infantil que tengo para decorar es la de mi sobrina así que he querido contribuir a alegrar su día a día con una guirnalda de estrellas de colores y con su nombre en tricotín.

Todavía es muy pequeña para apreciar cualquiera de las dos cosas pero a mí me hace ilusión hacer cosas para ella y me gusta la idea de que además de juguetes y cosas compradas tenga su pequeña colección de cosas hechas a mano.


I have always loved decor but kids rooms are my weakness, I am never tired of looking at  Pinterest pictures of the little worlds created for them.

By now the only child room I have to decor is my niece's so I've wanted to contribute to brightening up her day to day with a colourful stars garland and her name in tricotin.

She is still too little to appreciate any of the two things but I am happy creating things for her and I like the idea that in addition to toys and purchased items she also has her little collection of handmade things. 

Chaqueta de punto con capucha / Knitted hooded cardigan

En mi cesta de labores siempre hay algo para mi sobrina y lo último que he tejido para ella ha sido una chaqueta con capucha en color rosa fucsia.

A pesar de su sencillez siempre me han gustado este tipo de chaquetas de bebé en punto bobo, me parecen muy prácticas y los peques están muy monos con el gorrito. 

El patrón lo he sacado de un catálogo de Phildar y he utilizado su  lana Partner 6  mezcla de acrílico, lana y poliamida.

La verdad es que a mi sobrina la chaqueta todavía le queda un poco grande, pero estoy segura de que le va a dar mucho uso en los próximos meses.


In my knitting basket there's always something for my niece and the last thing I've knitted for her is a hooded cardigan in fuchsia pink.

Despite its simplicity I have always loved this kind of garter stitch baby cardigans, I find them very practical and the little ones are very cute when they wear the hood.

I took the pattern from a Phildar catalogue and I've used their Partner 6 yarn, a blend of acrylic, wool and polyamide.

The truth is the cardigan still looks a little bit big on my niece, but I am pretty sure that she will use it a lot during the following months.

Cozy Worm's Child Cowl

En enero fue el cumpleaños de mi sobrina y uno de los regalos que le hice fueron unas botitas super monas de Tocotó Vintage.

Las botas son de un color rosa precioso que me recuerda mucho al algodón de azúcar y al color del cuello Drop Stitch Cowl en versión primavera que tejí para mí el año pasado, así que como todavía me quedaba una madeja del mismo algodón en mi reserva decidí hacerle un mini cuello a juego con sus botitas.

Tras una búsqueda rápida en Ravelry, encontré el patrón Cozy Worm Child's Cowl de Nikki Van de Car (autora del libro "Qué se puede tejer cuando se está esperando" del que os hablé aquí) y me pareció que era perfecto para lo que estaba buscando.

Tejí el cuello en muy poco tiempo (ya os podéis imaginar lo chiquitín que es) y viendo el resultado no puedo parar de pensar en más ideas para hacer mini accesorios para combinar con la ropa de mi sobri.

In January it was my niece's birthday and one of the presents I gave her was a pair of super cute baby booties from  Tocotó Vintage.

The booties are in a pretty pink colour that reminds me of cotton candy and the colour of the spring version of the Drop Stitch Cowl I knitted for me last year, so as I stitll had a skein of the same cotton in my stash I decided to make a mini cowl to match her little booties.

After a quick search on Ravelry, I found the pattern Cozy Worm Child's Cowl by Nikki Van de Car (who is also the author of the book "What to knit when you are expecting" which I told you about here) and I found it was perfect for what I was looking for.

I knitted the cowl in very little time (you can imagine how tiny it is) and after seeing the result I can't stop thinking of more ideas to make mini accesories to match with my niece's clothes.
