Baby Selmer

En abril os daba unas pistas en mi cuenta de Instagram  sobre un conjunto de bebé que estaba empezando a hacer pero, aunque lo tenía terminado desde hace tiempo, no os lo había podido enseñar porque todavía no se lo había dado a la persona para la que lo hice.

En realidad no es ninguna novedad porque repito por tercera vez el patrón "Baby Selmer"  pero es que me gustan tanto las ranitas de bebé que aprovecho para hacer pruebas con nuevas combinaciones de colores en cuanto tengo ocasión.

Esta vez he escogido el color mostaza que es uno de mis colores favoritos y he utilizado ovillos de algodón de DROPS Paris  repitiendo la versión de verano del patrón que hice el año pasado.

Para tejer las botitas he seguido el patrón "Gansey Booties" que tenía guardado desde hace tiempo  pero he visto que ya no está disponible en Ravelry  así que he tenido suerte de haberlo descargado en su momento porque me encanta como queda el conjunto.

In April I dropped you some hints on my  Instagram account about a baby outfit I was starting to make but, although I had finished it quite a long ago, I couldn't show it to you as I still hadn't gave it to the person I made it for.

Actually it is nothing new because it's the third time I am using  "Baby Selmer" pattern but I like baby rompers so much that I take advantage to try new colour combinations as soon as I have the opportunity.

This time I have chosen mustard colour which is one of my favorite colours and I have used  DROPS Paris cotton skeins repeating the summer version of the pattern I made last year.

To knit the booties I have followed  "Gansey Booties" pattern which I had saved a long time ago but I have seen that it is no longer available in Ravelry so I was lucky to have downloaded it at the moment because I love the way the outfit looks.

How do you find it?

Davallia by Isa Catepillán

Tal y como os adelantaba a principios de agosto, he terminado el jersey  Davallia  diseñado por  Isa Catepillán.

Desde el principio fue el patrón que más me llamó la atención del número de primavera de Pom Pom  y aunque he tardado casi dos meses en terminarlo, ha merecido la pena porque es realmente una prenda muy especial.

Como me gustaba mucho, quería conseguir un acabado lo más parecido posible al original (pero a un precio más asequible) así que opté por unos ovillos de DROPS Belle con mezcla de algodón, viscosa y lino que sabía que quedarían genial para darle ese aire rústico que tiene el diseño original de Isa Catepillán.

En cuanto a la talla, me decidí por la opción más pequeña del patrón porque tenía miedo de que me quedara demasiado grande y creo que he acertado con mi elección porque, aunque no es tan largo como en las fotos originales, tiene el tamaño perfecto para mí.

Por suerte todavía quedan algunos días de verano así que intentaré hacerme alguna foto con el jersey puesto para enseñaros lo bonito que queda.

As I already told you in advance at the beginning of august, I have finished  Davallia cardigan designed by  Isa Catepillán.

Since the beginning it was the pattern which grabbed my attention the most from the spring issue of  Pom Pom and although it has taken me almost two months to finish it, it is worth it because it really is a very special garment.

As I liked it a lot, I wanted it to look as similar to the original as possible (at a more affordable price though) so I chose some  DROPS Belle skeins with a mix of cotton, viscose and linen which I already knew that would be great to add the rustic touch of  Isa Catepillan's original design.

With regard to the size, I decided to make the smallest one from the pattern as I was afraid that it would be to big for me and I think I took the right decision because, although it is not as long as in the original pictures, it is the perfect size for me.

Luckily there are still some summer days left so I will try to take a picture of me wearing the cardigan so I can show you how pretty it looks.

Antes de que llegue el otoño y sólo me apetezca tejer con lana gordita y calentita, quiero aprovechar para terminar algunos de los ovillos de algodón que tengo en mi "stash".

Así que, buscando ideas he recuperado el precioso libro escrito por eccomin  y he encontrado un proyecto perfecto para hacer en las próximas semanas. 

De momento esto es sólo un pequeño adelanto de los colores que he escogido aunque espero poder mostrar mis avances y el resultado final muy pronto.

P.D: Más cosas bonitas de eccomin  que he hecho: el Triangles Pouch  y el mini bolsito de ganchillo 

Before autumn arrives when I will only want to knit with chunky and warm wool, I would like to make the most to finish some of the cotton skeins I have on my stash.

So, looking for some ideas I've come back to the beautiful book written by  eccomin and I have found a perfect project to make during the next weeks.

By the moment this is only a little preview of the colours I have chosen although I hope to be able to show you my progress and the final result very soon.

Mis tiendas favoritas de Etsy / My favorite Etsy shops #8 - Helena Carrington

Hace tiempo que no escribo sobre mis tiendas favoritas de Etsy así que, con las vacaciones de verano todavía frescas en mi cabeza, me parece el momento perfecto para hablar de las preciosas ilustraciones de Helena Carrington.

La temática de sus dibujos son fachadas de edificios representativos de distintas ciudades realizados con tantos detalles que casi podrían servir para jugar a adivinar de qué lugar se trata. 

Como buena enamorada de los viajes y la papelería que soy, me parecen la combinación perfecta para tener un buen recuerdo de las ciudades que más me han gustado.

Todavía no he comprado ninguna pero ya he escogido mis ilustraciones favoritas y seguro que no tardo mucho en tenerlas colgadas en mi casa.

I haven't written about my favorite Etsy shops for a while so, with summer holidays still fresh on my mind, I think it is the perfect moment to talk about  Helena Carrington's beautiful illustrations.

The thematic of her designs are representative building facades from different cities done with so many details that they could almost be used as a "which place it is" guessing game.

As the good traveling and stationery lover I am, I find them the perfect combo to have a nice souvenir from the cities I have liked the most.

I still haven't bought any of them but I have already chosen my favorite prints and I am sure it won't take me too much time to have them hanging in my house.
