Inspiración / Inspiration - Yards of Happiness

Ya sabéis que los perros son una de mis debilidades así que cuando la semana pasada descubrí por pura casualidad a Yards of Happiness , me convertí en su fan número uno y es que su "nerdy thing"  (como ella dice) de tejer jerséis a juego para su perrita Jellybean  me parece una idea maravillosa.

Obviamente, que Jellybean  sea un chihuahua ayuda mucho porque es más rápido tejer para un perro pequeño pero no deja de ser una genialidad y una forma muy original de reducir stash.

Además, demuestra que tiene una gran habilidad como tejedora ya que es capaz de adaptar los patrones a tallas miniatura con gran éxito.

Ahora que la he descubierto ya no puedo vivir sin sus publicaciones en  Instagram  y estoy deseando ver cuál es su próximo conjunto "nerdy".

You already know that dogs are one of my weaknesses so when last week I found  Yards of Happiness by pure chance, I became her number one fan as I found her "nerdy thing" (as she says) of making matching knitted sweaters for her dog  Jellybean a wonderful idea.

Obviously, the fact that  Jellybean is a chihuahua helps a lot as it is much quicker knitting for a small dog but it still is something brilliant and a very original way of reducing the stash.

In addition, she shows her great ability as knitter as she is able to adapt the patterns to mini sizes successfully.

Now that I've found her I can't live without her  Instagram posts and I am looking forward to seeing which is her next "nerdy" outfit.

Riley

Última semana de verano y llego justo a tiempo para enseñaros cómo me ha quedado mi jersey Riley del número 25 de Pom Pom Quarterly.

El patrón era uno de mis favoritos desde el principio pero además tuve la suerte de tener unos ovillos de algodón DROPS Muskat  en mi "stash " que le iban de maravilla por color y grosor así que me pareció la ocasión perfecta para utilizarlos.

Empecé a tejerlo en mayo y aunque me ha llevado tiempo terminarlo no se me ha hecho muy largo, seguramente porque se teje en punto bobo y en dos colores que siempre hacen que sea un poco más llevadero.

Para evitar sorpresas de última hora (como el problema con la talla que tuve al tejer el jersey Thornett ) en esta ocasión decidí hacer la talla más pequeña y la verdad es que me queda perfecto, aunque estuve con miedo de que me quedara pequeño hasta el final...

Last summer week and I arrive just in time to show you how my  Riley tee from  Pom Pom Quarterly issue 25 looks.

The pattern was one of my favorites since the beginning but in addition I was so lucky to have some  DROPS Muskat cotton balls in my stash that fitted wonderfully by their colour and thickness so I though it was the perfect occasion to use them.

I started knitting it in May and although it took me a while to finish it I didn't feel it was too long, probably because it is knitted in garter stitch and in two colours which always makes it more easygoing.

To avoid last minute surprises (as the size problem I had when I knitted  Thornett tee) in this occasion I decided to make the smallest size and the truth is it fits me perfectly, although until the end I was scared it would be too small...

Mis DIY favoritos / My favorite DIYs #27 - Watercolour Notebooks

Cuando iba al colegio me encantaba estrenar cuadernos y aunque ahora me limito a cambiar de agenda cada año sigo teniendo debilidad por los artículos de papelería así que aprovechando que es época de empezar las clases me apetece compartir un DIY de Fellow Felllow  para personalizar cuadernos con acuarelas.

Me parece una idea genial para conseguir cuadernos bonitos con un toque único y personal.

When I went to school I loved using notebooks for the first time and although the only thing I do now is changing my agenda each year I still have a weakness for stationery so considering it is back to school season I feel like sharing a DIY by  Fellow Fellow to make custom watercolour notebooks.

I think it is  a great idea to have some beautiful notebooks with a unique and personal touch.

Popcorn Suit

Hace unos meses os hablaba de Paelas  y sus preciosos patrones de ropa para bebé y este verano por fin he tejido uno de sus diseños.

Casi se puede decir que ya tenía el patrón escogido y sólo me faltaba la ocasión para tejerlo y es que el modelo Popcorn Suit  siempre ha sido uno de mis diseños favoritos porque me chiflan las prendas de punto con bolitas.

Para tejerlo utilicé algodón DROPS Safran  en tono melocotón, un color súper bonito que me encanta para utilizarlo en ropa de bebé y salir un poco de los colores de siempre.

A couple of months ago I told you about  Paelas and their beautiful baby clothes patterns and this summer I finally knitted one of their designs.

I could almost say that I had already chosen the pattern and I was just waiting for the occasion to knit it as  Popcorn Suit model has always been one of my favorite designs because I go mad for knit garments with bobbles.

I knitted it using  DROPS Safran cotton in peach tone, a really beautiful colour that I love for baby clothes so I don't end up using always the same colours.
